I just heard this last night, one of funniest things I have heard in a while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skc8QJ05SEs&feature=related

">You show your ignorance by your generalizations. That's what happens when you don't really read anything but just pop in for a "drive by" shooting every once in a while. Makes it hard to take seriously. It's time to grow up and be an adult about these matters. Sure it would be nice if we could all live for ever and never die. But that's not reality and reality is something, unlike the supernatural world you claim to inhabit, even if you stop believing in it, reality will still exist. You know there is no god... and I know your right.

The really funny thing about all these Christians laughing about the rapture happening today is they all believe in 99.99% of all the same bullshit. They just disagree on the small detail of when everyone floats around with wings and plays the harp. Most Christrians are too chickenshit to make claims that can be disproven. At least this Camping guy today had the balls to go out on a limb.

Will you be raptured? May be this will help. http://www.thepajamapundit.com/2011/05/rapture-flow-chart.html

As May twenty first draws closer and closer, I would just like to state for the record, that perhaps my conversion to Atheism was just a little bit hasty. In retropsect, I really have always believed in you Lord Jesus, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace, and so on and so forth. I was tricked and mislead by some very very bad people. If my understanding of how this all works with you is correct, I need just only ask you for your forgiveness, this request should come in loud and clear to you for the rest of the day. Your humble and obedient servant, Chris

Why do Americans hate their fellow Americans?
jclalor replied to freethefly's topic in Speakers Corner
*** You should also combine together both private charitable contributions, as well as government aid, to get the total charitable aid. The fact that the government already gives away so much, restrains some people from making private donations because they figure the needed assistance is already covered. Also, I wouldn't criticize America based upon contributions by percentage of GDP, since America has the largest economy in the world. At even a smaller GDP percentage, the contributions can still be much larger than anyone else. And America deserves credit too for assisting other nations militarily, like Germany, Japan and South Korea . Those are also huge expenses which benefit those countries and reduce their own costs. And America is looke upon as the policeman of the world, restraining tyranny everywhere - and that's a benefit you can't put a price on. I wonder if US charitable spending counts donations made to religions. It seems that donating money that goes too salaries and rent is not the same as giving cash to someone or something in need. -
Executing American Citizens without benefit of trial

Yes, doing it on pay per view would be even better. -
I for one have been pushing for the rocket engine idea for years.

Well then, I guess that settles it. When can we look forward to seeing your research published in a peer reviewed journal? The Muslims also believe in flying horses, any plans to research that?

5 Year in prison for the murder of 28,000 people?
jclalor replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
So...in order to justify using "the bomb", they admitted that they were going to go in and kill civilians as the alternative. Do you not see a problem with that? Key word, "estimates". Their justification sounded more like "targets" than "estimates". Why sure! If we're going to target civilians too, then yes, of course, it's a no-brainer that the death toll would be higher. Are you starting to get the idea that I'm opposed to attacking civilians? I do oppose use of "the bomb". I particularly dislike the fact that we used it in WWII. And I really dislike the idea that, by their own admission, civilians would have been targeted as an alternative. And I really, really, hate the fact that civilians WERE targeted anyway. "Civilians are gonna die if we don't use the bomb." "We will use the bomb to kill civilians." I mean, WTF? Those decision-makers were the ones who should have been on war-crime trial as they were the ones issuing the orders. But, like Bill says, the winners make the rules. No one said anything about going in and targeting civilians, Perhaps you might remember that the vast majority in Japan thought their emperor was nothing short of a living God and would have gladly sacrificed their life for him. The smallest estimates of unavoidable civilian deaths were still in the millions and in the hundreds of thousands for US troops. Look at all the civilians who jumped to their death with their children or used other means for suicide on Okinawa, a very large portion of the civilians who lived there killed themselves. How many on the main island would have killed themselves during an invasion? It seems to me the US had two choices: a shitty one, and a really shitty one. they picked the shitty one. I guess using your analogy, if a fully fueled hijacked 747 was heading towards the super bowl, it would be wrong to shoot it down. -
It seems your understanding of early Christianity is imaginary... So it's your belief, that Christians in the first 75 years after Jesus was crucified was that they were not expecting the immediate return of Jesus during their own lifetime? That the synoptic Gospels and the writings of Paul say nothing about the immediate return of Jesus to judge the world? I guess in your view, it makes more sense that the bible was written for someone living 2000 years in the future and not written for the writers contemporaries.

what are you talking about? Did you even bother to read chapter 20 and 21? Everytime you bring this up, someone tells you that if you just keep reading the next verses, you'll see that this is referring to the transfiguration. One would expect you to give a response to the answer given before bringing the same crap up over and over again ad naseum... It seems your understanding of early Christianity is limited. Jesus had the same philosophy as early Jewish apocalypticist, as did his followers. After the crucifixion, his believers expected his return any day.The more time that went by and then when some believers were starting to die, others ask Paul what would happen to Christians who died before the second coming. His response: 1 Thessalonians 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. Paul clearly expected that most Christians of his time would be alive when Christ returned. Paul clearly says " We who are still alive and are left" John, being the last gospel written, well after the deaths of the vast majority of possible witnesses to Christ. Christians had pretty much given up hope and stopped speaking of the immediate return of Christ, unlike the synoptic Gospels where he was expected any day. John speaks of those believing in Christ and being rewarded with life after death.

Do homosexuals deserve to be executed for being gay?
jclalor replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Far from it, You have heard of the national prayer breakfast? they are ones who put it on every year. They are ultra conservatives members of congress and the senate who live together in a condo on C street in DC. The whole focus is on extreme Christianity and they also have close ties to Uganda and the effort to execute or imprison gays for life. The news is not so much what Uganda is doing, it's what some Christians with political ties in the US have done to help them. Check it out for yourself. -
A rig or two would also be nice.

*** Matthew 24:34 "This cannot refer to the generation living at that time of Christ, for "all these things" - the abomination of desolation (v. 15), the persecutions, and judgments (vv. 17-22), the false prophets (vv. 23-26), the signs in the heavens (vv. 27-29), Christ's final return (v. 30), and the gathering of the elect (v. 31) - did not "take place" in their lifetime. It seems best to interpret Christ's words as a reference to the generation alive at the time when those final hard labor pains begin. This would fit with the lesson of the fig tree, which stresses the short span of time in which these things will occur." - John MacArthur The followers of Jesus very much expected to have Jesus return and set things right very soon after his death. AS time when by and they realized he was not coming back right away they changed what they believed. The Gospel of John touches on this . Matthew 16:28 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." Mark 9:1 And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power." Matthew 10:23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

5 Year in prison for the murder of 28,000 people?
jclalor replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
You do realize the number of Japanese civilian deaths that would have resulted in the American invasion of Japan? Some estimates were as high as 5 million. It's real easy to second guess them now. If we had not used the bombs and millions of civilians died during an invasion, people would be saying that by not nuking them, that would have made us responsible for even more deaths. An interesting fact I discovered reading the attachment I included, was that the US produced 500,00 purple hearts in anticipation of the invasion of Japan, to this day they still have over 100,000 left and are still using this supply to this day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Downfall -
Ever Generation starting with Jesus thought that Jesus would return during their life time. That must be close to 75 generations who have been wrong.(And counting) I find it funny that Christians have always claimed that when John wrote Revelations, he was writing it for their own generation, what egotist. John wrote Revelations for his own generation, and he was referring to Rome and Nero, nothing more and nothing less.

American Christian would never supports such an act. Oh wait a minute, they do. Not only support it, they are in fact also behind it. If anyone knows about C-street and the "Family" they are the group that puts on the national prayed breakfast and have helped the Ugandans with this law. http://www.examiner.com/progressive-in-portland/c-street-politics-the-family-sponsors-death-for-homosexuals-uganda -

I started reading and studying the bible a couple of years ago. Nothing will make you an Atheist faster than picking up a bible and reading it. Julie Sweeney is great.

There was then a moment of confusion until they announced the correct name.
