  2. I don't the going rate is 50 a repack, unless you piss me off then it's 150.00, 50 for the repack and 100 to put up with your shit, but I'm thinking about charging more this year for the shit factor. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. That's not the problem, the guy don't seem to be in a hurry to sell seeing how he don't answers any emails, I have or maybe now had a cash buyer, but I think they have decided fuck it and are looking else where. There seems to be a current trend in the classifieds on here of people place an ad and then never reply to an contacts of those trying to buy, or tell a buyer they will send the rig out in a few days and never do to only be contacted a couple days later by the buyer who get's told, oh sorry I sold it local. If your going to place an ad have the respect to answer those who contact you, if you don't want to really sell your crap then don't waste everyones time with your bullshit! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. For one thing those photos suck and don't tell the whole story. It's not uncommon to have wrinkels like that on some H/C's and YES it depends on the rigger at times. The photo of the bottom of the reserve tray with the aad buldging out is also common on some rigs, can be worse by cramming in a reserve that is to big for the pack tray or having to much canopy in the bottom of the container. Bottom line is if you don't feel good about jumping this guys pack job, then don't jump it and get it repacked by someone you do trust, however in all fairness man up and express your feeling to your buddy and why not give him a second chance to do it over? Every rigger who just got a ticket has to start some place, maybe it's the first time he has packed a G-3 and needs a few under his belt to make them look pretty, wouldn't be the first time this has happened. The first few wings rigs I packed looked totally like shit around the pop top, and I have a ton of other pop top packs, with that said, each container has it's own little tricks to "get it right" many times the manual your required to follow has some of the most shitty photos and images in them we're to be trying to understand, fucking things look like 3rd graders took them! So deal with your friend like a man, he diserves the feed back good & bad, that is what will make him a better rigger, not you nit picking a pack job on the fourms. If you can't work it out with him to your liking, there are a number of lofts you can ship your rig to or drive to the some place that has a loft on the dz. Or better yet go get your own ticket and find out for yourself. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  8. This guy had one for sale awhile back. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=efs4ever; The OD green one that was listed is no longer to be found in the classifieds. You might have luck here being your military http://www.pioneeraero.com/2-5_fre_fal.htm for this is the one you seek and we have an orginal one stamped "pioneer recovery systems" not MC-3. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Your just not looking in the right places and your not willing to pay those over priced ones that show up now and again. I know where you could get one right now for 500.00 or another for 350.00. On the other hand I know where you can jump about 25 different ones of all kinds of colors, models and pack type for the cost of a lift tickets, packing and a donation for the up keep of the collection cuz it's a lot of work, oh and if you need to be trained you might want to buy lunch for your Ins. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. Yep Bill it's one of the few old mag's I still have left, this was a 1979 issue and had a great write up about party in paradise and of course a great back cover shot..... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. You could order up some new pads and shims and fill your FTP to see if it fits tight enough. While yes it would cost some for the pads and shims cheepr then a FTP or FTN. point is if your shell fits then another shell should fit. I might have a package of shims in my storage crap bin. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. I have replaced a number cutters in the field and never have I found one broken due to firing, and as a side note couple of them were in Student Jav's. Now that's not saying it can't happen for some strange reason, cuz anything is possible, but history tells me that is damage due to mis handling before or after install of unit, not unit firing itself. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. Well I never said I was right.....note the use of a question mark..??? If you can guess right, all hope is lost. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  18. Well you need to know the full deal, big guy 230 without gear + 15 or so for gear =1.3 WL, using borrowed student rig. We both jumped on last load of day in a hurry because two other climb out of plane after loading. Not thinking about the student AAD, I forgot to remind my friend about it, and he didn't think about it himself. We pulled off a 2 way from 5K and went head down for a few before rolling over into a 2 way belly and smoked it down passed 2.5 when we broke off, conatiners were open by 2K and the pilot sniviled someting good. I had a front row seat and saw the whole thing, after flying open for a good while jumper did two hard turns and POP went the Cypres, jumper turned to final with PC in tow. Moral of story, don't smoke it down with your add turned on and trip it's brain into thinking your going in and then do hard turns under highly loaded canopy with student AAD armed, because it will fire. And yes having every non rigging Tom, Dick & Harry messing around with said rig after can cause the cutter to get broken and you can bet no one will own up to it. In other words most likely it fired because of the turn and then was broken by being "looked over" after the fact IMHO. But you won't know for sure untill you send the unit to SSK. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. Yes it can without a doubt, see it happen last fall with a big guy borrowing a student rig and a WL the same, same canopy. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  24. Ok, but the student I was talking about didn't do anything wrong, other then have a bad heart and the people on the next load were running their mouths in front of the friends and family of the dead guy while we were still working on him, all in all very disrespectful to the non jumping public on the dz. While we as jumpers may understand all that we're talking about here, we MUST keep in mind that in todays tandem factory dz's that not everyone around us "GET'S IT" and our actions and words make us look pretty bad in other peoples book, we can't have it both ways, we bitch about the bad rap we get in the press and over all in the public, yet show such disregard for society norms because we're on a DZ and we expect wuffo's on the field to bow to our way because "it's the skydiver code or way of doing things". What the hell do think those people are going to say when they leave in shock after such events. All I'm saying is watch what you say and do when this shit goes down, you never know who is on the field and what impression you will make. Oh and Andy, if you do something stupid, I'll be sure to kick you in the nuts while singing you a HIM. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. Raise'n hand and waving & shouting out loud. Oh I know, I know, I know...... 1958 The first baton pass is made in free fall by two Americans, Lyle Hoffman and James Pearson, over Vancouver, Canada. A month later, Steve Snyder and Charles Hilliard, alternates on 1958 U.S.Team, accomplish same feat over Ft. Bragg N.C. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
