I would have to agree with you, I think the ad's suck bigtime, while I understand the need to fund the site it would be nice if WE had a way to turn off the ad's. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Yea well I'm not the one on here crying out to have someone else be in charge of keep you morons from being ripped off from your own stupidity, it's people like you guys & gals who NEED AAD's in the sport today to keep you from being dead due to your lack of situational awareness. Maybe you can get your mama to hold your hand when buying online. Let the buyer beware or be a ripped off fool! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Have you ever shopped for a new or used car? Would buy a car from someone you never met, without going to look at the car and send them what amount to a cash payment? Mr. Abe Lincoln said, " A fool and their money soon part ways" it was true in Lincoln's day and it is true today, I guess you young kids must have missed that part in history class, I bet it was from texting to get the answers to the test. The site is already doing a service to everyone as it is, the fact that people are to stupid or lazy to do a search or take the time to read and learn what to look out for is their problem not the sites or the mods. Here is some great advice to all you noobies thinking about buying gear, try working with your local DZO, Instructors, riggers and gear stores, or risk getting ripped off because you don;t know what the fuck your doing, we've seen it time and time again! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Anyone who would wire money western union or with other means to a person they don't know and have not checked out for gear they have never seen is a total dumbass! There are already many post about this type of scam and how to avoid getting ripped off by them, the most common way is a gear broker. I have brokered a number of deals from this site between people who have never met each other and the seller don't know me from Adam, however with a few phone calls or emails I can be checked out and the gear is sent to a valid DZ/loft address. I have also sold gear the same way on here, it is up you the buyer to do your homework and check the facts and person out and make the arrangements to keep from getting buttfucked like the OP did. While I think it sucks the person got ripped off, I find hard to feel sorry for someones stupidty in this day and age of internet scams & ripoffs, this is nothing new and with a little looking into things a person can get the info to make a informed choice. And the last time I checked there was a gear store in Davis Ca. and more then one person around there able to help lowtimers make good deals, for a student to not work with those who are in the know and then fail to get educated about buying gear online, let alone from over seas says a lot about the person who got screwed. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I think it's a safe bet that a number of DZ's will be out of business by the end of the season or sooner. I expect to see student numbers take a major decline this season due to the factors stated. With the cost of everything going up by 35% or more and people every where in deep shit, there will be little money for playtime. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Then do a search on youtube for base jump bounce or gone wrong, there is a ton of bounce videos on there, it would seem being a retard and having video evidence of being a retard is in fashion in that circle. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Well then there will be one less dumbass in the world then right, so it's all good in my book. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
Very poorly written, at best! The fact that you sent such a letter and have no proof what so ever to back up any claims made, is less then steller. However being well virsed in dealing with the FAA myself in the signed statements/affidavits department, is not something I was good at starting out and it took a bit of stepping back to be able to write a useful affidavit. At least in my case, I had a mountain of evidence and 5 other people making the same claims. What you have here is nothing but "shotgunning" and while I can respect the fact that you have the balls to stand up in public and speak out. But quite frankly without any undisputed proof (such as video) your not going to get much if any support here (dz.com) or in the industry as a whole, that is just the way it is, SNAFU. Your "insider" feels the need to speak out, then they should grab their balls and do their own talking/posting and deal with the heat and fallout like the rest of us, too many cowards in the sport who want to duck and hide and let someone else do their talking for them and take all the heat. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Your right and we agree here, please reread my last line in my first post. (pasted for you) Yes there are fewer of the types of operators I speak of today then yesterday, however I'm starting to see some who I wouldn't have ever though would stoop so low, start to do so. There have and always will be the seeing able blindly following their leader cuz their nice people or "we family". you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Well to each their own, I would rather be that snitch you and so many others don't care for and rat out some lowlife DZO who could care less about killing you in his duck tape and baling wire POS AC, because his is willing to risk you, me & anyone else in the name of making/saving a buck. Everytime good DZO's and jumpers turn a blind eye and hush up, it cost everyone in the long run. Ah fuck it, it's a losing battle I've known this for a number of years and this is part of why I chose to address Mr. 737 unrealistic point of view, even tho he is right to a point. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I don't! Please read my post again, I'm not the one calling for part 135 or more reg's here, my post is addressing 737drivers point of view that we should all be 135. I do think more pilots, A&P's, dzo's RD's need to stop turning a blind eye. Seeing how your quoting the 1992 hinkley crash, the same cocksucker who had a hand in selling and hanging that rotten R-985 is still in business today and the USPA was handed more then enough proof about his other on going illegal acts that endangered the staff, uspa members, tandems & AFF as well as the public on the ground. Instead of USPA telling the membership who and why they kicked out this DZ from the GM program for life they kept their mouth shut and helped to sweep it under the rug, cuz they didn't want to get sued for stating the facts. The fact that the same scumbags @ USPA who did this are the same scumbags who then get us into the whole skyride lawsuit, that should speak volumes to you about who USPA chooses to protect. So doing shit like.... Is not near as bad as the scam skyride is pulling. livendive On the other hand would rather not have people like me tell the FAA that a C-45 is flying around SoCal with JB Weld on the left prop and has been painted over so Dave can't see it during his walk around inspection of the AC @ this dz he has never been to before and after it crashes and the FED's find the rotten seals on the rotten R-985 and the JB Welded prop along with a whole host of other things, he don't want his family to sue the DZ and operator or the A&P who signed off all the illegal repairs that made the plane crash cuz he knew ALL the risks. There is more then one AC operator and their pilots who got lucky on 9-11-01 and that is one reason their still flying today, that and the fact that those who know help keep them out of hot water & flying unsuspecting public who all think there is FAA oversight of skydiving. Yet even after these students grow up into up jumpers and start to hear the stories, they dismiss what is factual & known to be true by many, because they get fed a line of bullshit about how it was a big plot to tell a bunch of lies to the FAA, well that and the fact that Mr. DZO is such a great guy, I bet all the family members of those dead FJC students in the Hinkley crash think he is a great guy too. Lucky for most accross the country the sport is slowly getting rid of such crooks who are now turning into old men and should be kicking the bucket sooner or later. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

USPA and that bunch that run the show can kiss my fucking white honky ass & I will NEVER again assist, work with, help out, provide statemments & logbooks, videotape or other documents to USPA or any USPA RD, BOD, or special investagator, I will bypass all that unprotected anal sex and deal with the stright FAA & DOT only! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I was in the middle of writing the following reply when Bill Von cleaned up the thread over in Incidents fourm not wanting to piss off Bill Von, I decide to post it here, under safety & training, where IMO it belongs, after all to be safe you have to train yourself. I have made quit clear a number of times my views on corner cutting MX & AC op's as well as DZ Op's. They are very much inline with 737drivers point of view as well as a few other jumpship operators & pilots. However like all good debates, there are a few points we don't agree on the following is my reply to 737drivers posting. Fucking loud ass ring making jumpers so deaf over the years their eye sight starts to fail too, next thing you know the skies are full of deaf & blind leading a new crop of lemings. While yes what much of what you say is true about the industry as a whole, that has little value in FFE topic at this point. If you have inside info about FFE you will be attacked regardless what your profile says, but if your going to "out it" then have proof. Your post are not helping to bring to this thread, the how, what & why post from those who made it out that day or owners. I would have been surprised to see a post like that, but was hoping I would, due to your inflaming I doubt we will. I agree with most of everything you have said, where we part ways in like minded views is, 1. the FAA. & 2. More regulation 1. If you really are a 737 pilot, I find it hard to believe you fear the FAA so much and think they "flex power". I can see where as a comercial person who is used to them big city fancy type aerodromes, you might get a number of visits or have them FAA inspectors in the tower and out on the ramp asking around, "may vee sees your papers, pleze". But out here in the real world (fly over country) things changed on Sept. 11th. 2001! There was a couple operators who were getting a aweful lot of those "little green slips" the FAA mails you for each count their going after you for, but those towel heads on 9-11 played a major role in changing how the FAA works. Just in the few years before 9-11 as the "count slips" were amounting to a small fortune in lawyers fees, the FAA kept saying..... "we're not cop's & we can't place them under surveillance 7 days a week theres no buget for that". I was told a number of times by a CVG FSI that just getting the ok to spend the gas money to ramp check or show up for an unanounced inspection was like pulling teeth due to buget. Part 91 skydiving Op's was at the bottom of the food chain and as long as the body count stayed low everything is fine. Yea sure the FAA FSI's would pop in for a visit a few times a year, but funny thing is most the time they called first to make an appointment. Here we are after 9-11 and the FAA has shifted their whole focus to guys like you who are hauling walking meat in mass and making sure that my 87 year old grandmother isn't sneeking on her exploding shoes, their buget is even more tighter, while having more funding now, due to the current commercial crunch and user fees & funding debate. The FAA is not going to stand up at attition because of some silly lawsuit or two or 3 or 4 from skydiving AC crash, they don't care, don't have the time or money to give a shit, that some part 91 DZO is buying K-1 to burn and getting the logbooks signed off by kool-aid, not using safety wire on D-18 cowlings or running past TBO's, using fake STC for Mogas, flying without transponders or a working radio and dropping jumpers, home made prop repairs and yadda, yadda the list goes on and on of the kinds of corner cutting bullshit in skydiving, it's the industry's dirty little secret that USPA and DZO's have joined forces to keep in the dark & hide it from public view as much as possible, they call it "mainstream". They put on this happy little face and march in slap a few wrist and pull a GM membership & rating or two with a write up of general topic in parachutist and say to the FAA, "see we on top of it" this keeps the FAA happy as a pig in shit to spend their time fighting the terror threat and not dealing with a bunch of hilljack retards who jump out of rustbuckets with wings attached. And as long as another king air don't fall out of the sky onto a house or school full of kids the general public is not going to care nor is the FAA. Now put a skydiver into the cockpit window and bring down a MD 80 full of people in X-keys NJ and then you'll see some real action. 2.More regulation All that would do is raise my taxes more and price jump tickets out of reach for the avg, joe and jumping as we know it would be over. The easy fix is to just fund the enforcement the current set of rules we have and buget the the money to do it instead of bailing out the airlines, again, unlike now or the last x number years or so. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Good Deal or Not Total paid $550.00
stratostar replied to ucadam's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yea I did too a few season agos I used as a demo rig, sweet deal full rig for 350.00 bucks looked like it was made last week, pristine! Friken lived it's life in a closet, brand new *old 1988 main, reserve, & V2 I Jumped a season and sold it, for more then I paid. You can find some really good deals around at times, just like we see today, all these one hit wonders show up and buy all kinds of uptodate hotshit and then poof their gone and the rig hits the classifieds and don't sell fast or at all due to the market flood of small expensive cock rockets & acc's. so the rig hits storage. When in 10 years slips by and next thing you know heres a rig that wasn't really bad stuff 10 or 12 years ago, maybe state of the art for it's time, hit the ebay market because X -old jumpers shows up to the dz and get's laughed at when they try to sell their now dangerous non freeflying velcro covered f-111 big ass heavy tuna boat old fart wearing antique. Just watch in ten years we'll see the same thing all over again....... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -

Jump one a T-10, jump two Mk-1 PC. SO jump two. But over time my wings have become larger not smaller, not counting the round jumps I do where it's just, well round. Personally, I think too many young jumpers are/get pushed into a hurry to downsize these days for no good reason other then to cool factor & the need to feel hip. I have seen a high number of people who thought they were going to still be here 5.10.15 years or a lifetime, some made it a lifetime when they died being stupid, others didn't last but a couple years before injury or their death made them move on, a few of the lucky ones are still here and are the ones telling guys like you what to buy and how to look cool.
