You misunderstood, I know that the rig in the OP's photo's is not from 74......But my "rod's rebel" is a 74 or in that hood and it was made in CA not NC. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

That rig in the photo would have to have been after a "rod's rebel" and not before it, I have one, it was my first rig and it wasn't a piggy back, mine is stamped San Leandro CA, if I remember right, it's in the loft an hour away, for sure it says CA, while the DOM is not readable the best guess is it's a late 74 or so. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

No record light on that model. Larry, as cheap as you can buy HC models on ebay why not sell the 28 and move up to a better model with a lanc or a record light so you make a eye sight light. Well our S/L /AFF rigs are convertables and we NEVER tighten the link with a wrench, finger tight is good to go, we're talking a d-bag and bridal here, not a riser and lines connection. As for ones wrench walking off, don;t lone out your rigging tools and keep a lock on your riggin kit.

The easiest way to put a step through into a pack job is to pick up the rig and move it to lay out to pack. This happens all the time with rookies who lay down and then pick up the rig the wrong way. It all start in how you 1. pick up your canopy to walk back to the packing area. then 2. how you take off and laydown/out your rig before packing. 3. if you lay it down the right wrong way, this make's it easy to pick up the rig wrong and install a step through. To prevent this 1. pick up your rig with a daisy chain or other controlled way of keeping your lines controlled. 2. once back to the packing area drop your canopy in a pile and start walking backwards and lay out the lines in a controlled fashion. 3. Once you have your rig all nice and laid out, take off your container and with your heal of your foot lightly kick the pack backwards so the container lays out flat and not in a pile or setting up right on the bottom reserve pack tray, that way the container can't be picked up wrong and a step through installed, 85 % of step throughs happen taking off the rig or picking it up wrong to pack. If you don;t understand the flip of the container thing, then seek out the oldest old fart on the dz and ask them to show you it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Well Bill, If you go back and read the whole thread about Jan, I have said more then once I think they all need to go and yes even the 3 or 4 I like, (a number of them will tell you I have told them) while you feel jan did a lot of damage to USPA, many of feel she didn't and when reading over the suit, it's is clear that Mr. Welkers statements were just as or more damaging. This statement from Mr. Hart would imply that his son has passed away, or it's one of those bible thumper type comments, IDK what he means by that statement, but I do believe those who know Mr. Hart quite well and have told me his son is in fact alive and well and this is all a bunch of public statement bullshit trying to cover up their fuck up.
