  1. yes curley has a nice dz...... ASC, I personally wouldn't advise anyone to support that shithole because it's owned by the biggest scum sucking dirtbags in the industry and those who blindly and not so blindly that support it are just as low rent as it's owners IMHO. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  6. Yes... very good point Mike, I was thinking in lines of the notice sent out by airtec of late (not putting loops in cutters) because the OP left out a story, leaving us to guess as to the reasons such questions was asked in the first place... Very valid point none the less, same would be true for mirage or other containers with a cutter placement on top like that. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. I don't. There is one uncut loop and one bridal stow loop and one loop we can't see. Without more info no way of telling why this photo was taken, it is maybe implied that someone failed to put the loops in the cutters and then someone caused the AAD to fire resulting in no cut loops. On that kind of rig it would be pretty hard to miss the cutter in a repack, however as history tells us, riggers can fuck up and have done so..... How could one miss those cutters? On that kind of rig the tunnels for the cutters are long and if they were sucked back inside the tunnel you could only feel it and not see it,. that's how... still makes for shitty rigging if that is the case. Only way to know for sure what has happened in the photo or why it was taken, would be to have more info. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. What he said.... There is an on site rigging loft, that maybe willing to help you (for a fee) and the sunshine factory pro shop in on site and they maybe willing to help you as well for a small fee, the there is the dz manger TK who is a very busy but damn nice guy who would be a good person to seek help from, it would be in your interest to offer who ever you ask for help a service fee of some kind.... If you really can't reach one of the three businesses , then let me know and I will make some calls for you, I don't hand out personal numbers, but most the names I posted do visit these fourms as do a number of z-hills locals, it shouldn't be to hard to find someone willing to help you out. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  10. TK Tony H. The Carbone's Paul Bram or Elly Bird Why don't you have the person who has the rig take it Z-hills to Sunshine factory for you or the dz and pay them to ship it for you? Make sure you offer a beer fee for the new Bird bar.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  13. I've seen a number of instructors who teach a FJC in 4 hours, both S/L and AFF methods... The end results have always produced less then stellar students, many of them fail at basic understanding of what to do, from climb out to EP's to canopy control and they always need additional time in review or retraining in some areas. In some cases however you might find your teaching a returning jumper or a pilot who has some understanding of flight and they are the only person in class, this can allow for a quick moving class time. In most cases a normal FJC (where I trained) was 10 to 20 in class each day for SL, there is no way in hell you can properly train that many people in 4 hours or even 6, 8 min if your lucky... with smaller class sizes 3-8 people, an 8 hour class can be done, with extra 2 hours for anyone in AFF. You can tell the difference in the skydiving part with a student who was trained in great detail vs a quickie class, the first one always dose better over all. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Yea that Randy guy is due a lot of beers by many members who don't have a clue how much he dose for the sport. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  17. On a side note to remind folks, gum is not advised I know of one student who gasped and choked her self released one toggle in the panic that set in and ended up dead. So please don't let or give your students gum or other large items they can choke on when they leave the ac. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Maybe DSE though it best to work with the guy instead of refusing him and having him head on down the road to some other guy who would let a student WS'er make a jump without his leg straps on..... You know those who are truly in for the money over safety! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. I was trying to say I was right about any of that info, just pointing how the telephone game in how word got around back then, 1981 was not a kind year in my "skydiving circles" 85 hotel went in. I think the reason the story going around in fly over country about her riding a streamer to long may have been the jumps a week or so before? Who knows..... Like I said none of that matters now dose it.... she is still gone. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. But for D's it's pack open by 2K not exit @ 2K.... And with the approval of the S&TA, one could get out @ 2K. I'm cool with 1400ft exits, airspeed is your friend. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. Well in fly over country, I remember hearing she was jumping a unit and rode a streamer to long before cutting away and hit at line stretch. I also remember it as the late 70's and not the 80's. Oh course none of that matters she is still gone. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. A wise old man once told me, "pack your own rig kid, you get out what you put in".... Pretty good advice, packers are for the lazy! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. I can tell you that not only the DZ owner but a large group of current users have tried to voice the facts and come to a understanding with those who seek to ruin this airport, however some people just have their head so far up their ass they will never see the light of day nor be able to read or understand any facts that don't meet with their agenda and such is the case here. This owner could have won the war but would have to deal with a couple of years of harassment and damage to his business that could have cost 10K or more in legal expense alone & not counting the loss of income. So it is more cost effective to close up shop and sell off the assets or even move the operation then it would be to deal with city leaders & airport mangers who have their head up their ass & crazy dreams of some super jet port and big fed funded improvements. And in this case, it's even more retarded because of the other two airports close by, one of those being less then 10 miles down the road that currently serves as the regional jet port & commuter hub. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
