  1. Well after wading thru all the crap in this thread, it would seem to me that there are more people I have personally met and done honest business with over the years, who all seem to say the same thing. And that would be that Ben and Cary along with their skyride scam are a bunch of lowlifes and crooks, and while that may appear to be a PA, it would seem to me that there is more then enough documented proof that it is true they are in fact crooks and liers and cheats and have done a great disservice to the industry. I don't know RRR or LLL, while they might be nice people, they work for and support crooks and that makes them and the rest of the staff scumbags too who help crooks give a big black eye to our sport. If the owners of skyride were such great guys and the dz's they own were such great places to spend our money, why is it then that only a handful of staff members or lowtime retards are on here trying to tell us how good they are, I mean one would think there would be at least 150 to 200 or more jumpers who would step up to defend them and the 3 dz's they own. Being a northern jumper myself I have no interest in skydive ATL or the farm or buddy Blue's dz, I have been to the farm and I have been to Trey's place, now those are real dz's run above board by honest business men and they have a real landing area, where as ASC is a joke for a student op and I base that just from seeing the landing terrain they call a landing area and the many fake websites accross the country, after all it's the home of the eastern US skydiving championships, talk about your world class dz. Those of you who support such lowlifes are just as bad and when they ruin airport access and rip off the wuffo's who buy tandems from them who then feel ripped off from driving 300 miles, it make's the sport as a whole look bad, you as staff members and jumpers who keep these morons in business are doing your best to help make the sport look bad and I can't understand why you would be so stupid. Must be your addiction getting the best of you and WTF most of you won't be around ten years from now anyway, so who really cares if you leave a big black eye on the sport. So firemedicjumper you can be one of the people who have no class and are part of the problem and would be more then happy to help some crooks rip off the public and help to do your part to make the sport look like it is nothing but con men, or you can be a jumper who don't care to support two of the biggest scumbags to come along in a longtime, it's really your choice in the long run. Just remember all those people who have filed reports with the BBB and news chanels all accross the country aren't just making up a ton of bullshit because they don't have better things to do or don't like the two crooks, their pissed off about getting ripped off by the likes of those who defend Ben and Cary and helped to rip them off. Hey if it looks like a turd, smells like a turd, and floats like a turd, safe bet is, it's a TURD! but then again it might be a babe ruth bar....... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  3. Old don't mean junk I have many rigs ready to jump made long before you were even a twinkel in your daddys eye and they are more then safe and airworthy. It's people like you that talk all kinds bullshit about older rigs to people @ the dz and on line that has noobs thinking anything older then 5 yrs is junk and unsafe, when it's not true, there is a lot of really good older rigs around that can be picked up cheap, you don't need to spend 2 to 5k to get a rig. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. It's also frustrating to those of us who act as brokers for buyers. Jav NJOJXJ 300 bucks! I have better things to do with my time then look up every single MFG website to find out what fits in a rig. It's not just gear for sale, you'll see: needed fulltime (whatever) no dz name, no state or country, no profile filled out. My take on stupid people who post such lame ad's is they don't really want to sell their crap or why would I want work for some one who can't even offer basic info one might need to know as to where a job is and how much the pay is, must be a real shit hole or an asshole to work for, if not why hold back the info. So, no your not the only one who thinks there are a ton of really stupid people placing ad's on here. I often broker deals for students looking for rigs and I skip right over the ones you speak of and don't waste my time trying to find out, and yes the photos are a huge help to those who act as brokers, so we can send them to our clients to help them make up their mind if it is a rig worth taking a harder look at. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. True, but how do you know for sure it can't happen in the air on your rig or another MFG. Again never say never, with anything new on the market your a test jumper, many tested designs have later came to light it wasn't such a great idea, blast handles, plastic martin backers ect to name a few. Yes I disagree and think it is a bad idea for the many people I see run out a buy parts for their rig without any thought as to it's use, while many parts will interchange there are other things to consider besides "will it relsease" as Rob pointed out the cables. Sure, one gold star for you! Sould those rings be disposed of? YES but in todays age of ebay and every dumbass who find some old crap in an attic and sells it, there are those noobs who try to save money and buy junk because they don't call or email a rigger in the know, same with mixing parts. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Never say can't, you can fool yourself all you want to, but in the many years I have been involved in the sport I have seen many things happen that a lot of others said "can't" happen, cuz it can happen and your putting out bad advice to others as to mix and matching parts. My guess is your not a rigger and with one year in the sport you couldn't start to understand the many different types components readly avaiable on todays market, do you know what large rings have been known to distort and become oblonged and cause a fail to release and do you know how to identify them? I didn't think so. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Yea well finding out the hard way it won't work could ruin your whole day. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

And Scottjco, you can control where your going to land even with a round reserve! 1. you spot for your reserve and 2. waving off is to tell those in my landing area to move aside, because that low no one will be above you. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  10. Or those dz's that use a para-sim to train with, we just put them back into the sim and make them do it over and over, can even fuck with them and throw in a mal or real bad spot, all kinds of cool groovie stuff.
  11. Well I know what you mean, I was @ XXX for two weeks and during the first week there one of my rig's went out of date, I was manifested on a load by an LO and I was called up to the window and told I was out of date. I love the look on everyones face when I signed my card right there in front of um, one non staff member said I couldn't do that, so I pulled out my ticket and said, you want to bet on that.
  12. Or at least a working pen and a look at the data card before walking in to the office. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. I was wanting to know how many times did he say to himself "holy shit this is nuts" before he stepped off the edge. I assumed the suit was returned slightly stinky....... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. If I understand you, YES you can do that. GO get the book by Jim Reid. It will help you with the more advanced stuff. I have been using iMovie & iDVD for almost two years now, but only doing the simple stuff for fast tandem videos. But now I'm reading up on doing more of a "movie" and finding out there is some really cool shit you can do and it is more then I can type for you to learn. Good luck and enjoy you new found freedom, and YES APPLE RULES! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Seeing how you asked nice and all, it won't hurt, much! Yum...... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  17. The yellow suit in pic one is hanging in the bombshelter bar in Perris Valley, I think, the photo is very small and I can get a real good look. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Well in fact I would be happy to help anyone get hooked up with a good used rig for cheap. There are a few people on here who know me and would tell you the same. In fact I helped broker a deal not long ago that was posted on here, for $600.00 and it was a complete rig. A 1989 sweethog with the late 90's up grades (read cypres ready), PD 170 main, Mirco raven 150 all built in 89 and 100 jumps or less closet queen. When the rig showed up it all looked brand new and made a hell of a deal for a girl for her first rig. That is pointed at more then one person, not anyone person per-say. I say this because as life changes I have and may again have to sell my rigs, that is the ones worth real money, I can always jump my rounds, or if I need to jump a square there is more then one loft owner I could ask to give me for FREE the parts I need to get in the air, I have no doubt I could build more then one rig out of parts and there is at least 6 to 8 other rigs I know of complete no one will ever jump or buy again, and those are sitting going to waste, rotting away over time. There is nothing wrong or unairworthy with them other then the fact that their old and maybe ugly as sin, but after all @ 1.5 K who really cares how pretty you look! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. With all the rigs out there like this http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=50733;d=1 and this is NOT the only one I have seen, there is no reason that a person couldn't build a good safe used rig to jump for cheap. Hell I could build two or three rigs out of parts in the loft of gear that was given away to the dz as junk. Yes, it may not be the hot cool fashion of the day, but it would be safe to skydive with, too many jumpers these days are so quick to blow off or talk shit about older gear, god for bid you might have to learn to fly on your belly and try to have fun. Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for you cry babies, lots of rigs around for less then a grand. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. Your welcome, I was surprised to not see her name already listed. I don't know if she still teaches, but I'm sure she'll have a contact or two. Good luck with your masters.
  21. Karen Lewis is/was a teacher, you might ask her next time your @ perris. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. Everything your talking about is on and can be done in iDVD. It would be a good idea for you to get a book such as "The Mac iLIfe'06" by Jim Heid. It covers all the iLife media and has been very helpful to have around and read up on more advanced tricks in the programs. While FCP is way cooler and all that, iDVD and iMovie are very easy and fast to learn. I can figuare it out without a book to do the simple stuff anyone can! Sounds like you just haven't taken the time to explore or play around, you'll be surprised at all you can do in iDVD and how nice it looks when done. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. If I were to start shooting tandems would this camera still be sufficient? *** Yes. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  25. Can anyone confirm this - that retired military gear might have the SN obliterated? *** Yes & no. I have a Y & B round reserve that has had the SN cut out and removed, just under some other funny looking stamp that says something about property of _ _ _ _ _ _ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
