  1. Fixed the typos for ya... Any resemblances to the farm is, maybe close, but I would have said "short bus".... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. When pissing into the wind the trick is to not get your own feet wet. And your right you can't tell a bus load of fools their a bus load of fools.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. No it's working, that dz has been banned for life from USPA for many reasons. We do look at them and just like Ted, they fucked up, end of story. Ted commited an act of suicide, he knew the risk was DEATH if he messed up a hook turn, as have many before him and as many more to follow, that is the risk you take when you jump out of an aircraft in flight, you can do everything right and still die! We all know this and take that risk and Ted knew and took that risk, and he lost. You need to learn to deal with your loss. Maybe you should write the state house and try get a "Ted's" law passed , good luck with that. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. I call it the way I see it, if you don't like it, tough shit, don't read it! If you work for or jump at a SKYRIDE DZ then your no better then the owners who have a long documented history all across the United States of being liers, cheats, and ripoff artists, you help the keep them in business with your work & wallets and there for you help to deceive and ripoff the public, just the like the bullshit website of your home dz is a bunch of lies, and then to offer a lame ass excuse, your IT guy is too busy, more like too busy ripping off other peoples websites and stealing peoples copyrighted photos. AS I said before just because your only driving the getaway car in a bank robbery, your still a bank robber and that makes you a crook too! And if you and your buddys are to stupid to figure that out, thats not my fault! Anyone who would go to such attempts to defend what is so well known as a scam makes them a scammer as well, dose it not? Why don't you all turn in your USPA memberships and not renew if your DZO's are so great? We don't need you or your money to help fight the court battle. The public keeps getting ripped off by the likes of B&C and those who work for them and support them! When are the tickets going on sale to the public for the " eastern US sydiving championships"? and how many teams are signed up? Tell ya what there smart guy, you come back in 10 or 15 years and tell us how great your shithole is, if your still around that is! My bet is you'll be selling your gear in a few years and the sport will be And your right all my rigs are old worn out crap no one in their right mind would jump, let alone steal. "MadLib" implied PA removed by slotperfect. P.S. The mods here don't play favorits, if your out of line you get deleted or banned, slotperfect has banned me before as has bill von. I type more careful now and edit myself as you can see above! And even then I still fuk up and get banned sometimes.
  5. If their to stupid to already know that lying to people, ripping off people, and stealing from people, and supporting those who do, is wrong who the fuck really wants them around anyway! They should be treated like shit and ran off the dz ASAP before rig's go missing. I don't and nor do most of us who have been jumping for a number of years care to have lowlife scum around. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Right after you posted your shot I found this mini one in the yard, it was so small it was very hard to get a shot taken. The more I play with lens in macro the more I'm enjoying the challange of hand held macro. Nice shot Miami. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. You guys Marks,Spence,Billy, got that shit right! Even on non-public fields it can cost the dz big time. Waynesville Ohio comes to mind. One to many drunkass stupid pricks driving on the GRASS runway and doing donuts on it, bon fires, and other stupid shit pissed off one of the owners for the last time. I like a good party too, but many 20 to 30 sumtins need to take their crap off the dz and to their own backyard. If you want to have your big E rave and drunken idiot fest, go have it at your house and leave the dz to those who can enjoy a few beers and safety meeting in a low key manner (read discreet) with a nice "normal" fire at the DZ without all the stupid human tricks. Seen way to many jumpers these days showing no respect for others property theses days and then they all can't understand why the airport MRG or owner wants the dz closed and gone, we all (those who been around a while) have seen it time and time again. Or go buy your own land and build your own drunken idiot DZ and do as you please with your buds. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. borrow one or start ebaying. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Nutin like hanging around the dz on a sunday afternoon.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. Hey that is great, glad it all worked out and you guys had fun. Just remember though paybacks a BITCH you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. There is nothing more funny then getting a first time round jumper all worked up and worried about the jump on some vintage gear, with the standard wise cracks about age of the gear and all that (picture in your mind Truman Sparks pating the rigs on the table. No need to worrie Mr. Hicks I pack these babys every week! don't forget the dust cloud rising up), then to hear after they land how they thought, at first, the canopy turned to dust on opening from age. And once you feel/hear pea gravel bouncing off your helmet / head you won't forget it..... Now where did that 5lb packing weight go, I guess someone is using it..... as you look at 15 retro rigs ready to jump. P.S. I haven't pack a weight, but know a few of you who did. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. (Not aimed at you twardo, because I know you know) This flour in a canopy thing is one of the oldest and long standing pratical jokes going in the sport and has been a standard for years, albeit in the new day and age of squares you sure don't see it much these days. I have never seen anyone cutaway a floured canopy, tripped out YES, but chop NO! Oh and a handful or two of pea gravel for good measure.... Of course this is best done with a round jump as some have found out... I'm a little surprised to see some of you oldtimers giving the OP so much shit about it, boy have times changed. I guess it shows how many pioneers no longer jump today. This way diff then tampering to do harm to another as we have seen in some cases. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. Some more from me, hand held. I could use more work on the depth of field, but these came out pretty good for my second goof'n off with macro. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. Look who's talk'in smack ! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Oh come on now, we agree on most things most of the time. And if I can't what I'm looking for in a book I ask you and other grumpy old bastards..... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Sounds like way to much effort for little pay off. Why not just get a bigger bear or other stuffie and use a old rig, there are lots of old rigs around you could find for free. You should also be able to find a round reserve to pack into the rig, weight it up and toss it out. If you took the time to do this right and found all the parts, and used a FXC on the main you could jump it more then once. I have seen Elmo make about 12 jumps over the years, that dummy has his SCR and I think a NSCR. He is a full size dummy too. In Colorado we used to have a bugs bunny that was about 4 and a half foot tall, we had a old 26ft lopo made to streamer and he would get tossed out with half a cinder block strapped to him at about a grand,IAD. He bounced in the parking lot once and almost took out two cars. And then we also had a aircraft owner and his wife on the airport, and she freaked out bigtime seeing what she thought was a real person dying. Long story short is, your not the first to think it up, but sounds like you need to re-think what your going to use if you want it to work. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. I mean in todays market you can get the modern hardware and still find all the old stuff too (I have a handful of speed links for example), while one might not buy "RW-1-82" or "RW-1-83." from paragear today, there are a lot of old rigs found on ebay or closets for example, and believe it or not I know young (young as in age) riggers and want to be riggers (those who don't hold tickets) who don't know about the soft batches of rings and are so stupid they would hook up a canopy to them and sign of as airworthy. These same idiots I have seen try to re-invent the wheel because they were board one rainy day at the dz and start digging around the old shit bins and use stuff they know nothing about, but think they do, or rig up a chest mount without cross connectors to jump. You know as well as I do people use all kind of non-original equipment cuz of the cool factor and never talk to a rigger about compatibility of the parts. And that is the point I was making not that it is common to people still using those rings. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. I bet your the winner here, my trv 525 also had the same setting and this cam was made about the same time as the PC9's. And AFFI you need to put down that crack pipe.....windows xp pro you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  20. Drive to LSPC and then you don't have to worrie about stepping in a pile of local ......! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. I got that part of your post, but people don't open up DZ's and buy king airs and twin otters to lose money and operate at a loss all the time now do they. I wouldn't know I haven't been there to see the OP and I doubt the books are stright anyway, as with most crooks. But I'm sure that one of the honest DZO's who post on here could give you a better idea. It's nothing personal dude, we just don't see it the same, but maybe one day you or some one you know will be one of the many burned. Oh and you don't find it kind of funny that Hans and Mike G are listed as staff at both ASC and Pell's website? Damm those dudes sure get around a lot seeing how they have their own busy dz and loft to run. So are you signed up and have you sent in you money for front row seats for the eastern US skydiving championships?, if not you better hurry up they are starting next month at both DZ's and at the same time too. You can keep making all the excuses you want, but the owners of your DZ are still crooks and anyone who works for them is also a crook! Kind of like if you and I walk into a bank and you hold it up with a gun, but I only drive the get away car, I'm still getting charged with bank robbery. But I guess you just can't see it that way because it's only skydiving! It is this kind of thinking that has lead to many people looking the other way with corner cutting DZO's who fly aircraft held together with duck tape and bailing wire. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. sorry, didn't mean to personal bash. While they may treat me like family, I don't support and I won't support two lowlife crooks who own the dz and the plane, every ticket you buy puts money into the pockets of the fucknuts and your supporting their actions with your wallet to help them keep ripping off not only the public but other honest businesses, and seeing how you think it is the best you have ever been to, I guess you don't get out much, you should travel around a little more and open your eyes. If your mom or other family member was ripped off and had to drive to another state some 300 miles away (when they could have gone 40 miles to a local dz) and weathered out from the jump and was told some crap about how they diodn't buy weather INS, how would you feel about that now that your a jumper? Or how would you feel if you log on to a website and saw your copy righted photos or had your website ripped off? You want to support those clowns go ahead and join the ranks of the rest of the scumbags who willing help give this sport a black eye, most likely you'll be done and selling your rig in only a few years anyway and your HEROs will on a shopping spree with all the money they ripped off.. And if you do stay in the sport and find in your local area there are not airports that are willing to let a dz operate on because some lowlifes soured the land don't cry about it because you helped it happen. One day the cash cow will dry up and those to losers will be long gone and the damage wiill be the only thing left from those two. If were lucky they'll get what their due and justice will be served for the masses. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Can you make those just a tad smaller us old half blind fuckers haven't got a good squint going yet.... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. It would make for a lack of camera flyers, but as we have seen over the years DZOs don't really care what UPT or Strong or the USPA says as long as the company/USPA rep's aren't on the dz and they will keep on using sub-standared camera flyers as we have seen not long ago untill the company made some calls. We all know the DZO in that case had to have known the camera boy was doing as he was and I'm willing to bet all the staff knew too, it is all to common for the blind eye to be turned till there is a death. That can best be answered by Tom N @ Strong or TK @ UPT if he still works in that job fuction. I'm sure Tom would be happy to share the info. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. While I can understand you may not have had the best infomation given to you, in the long run it is your own fault for not doing your homework and shopping around. Oh so posting your blanket statement in a thread started by a rookie looking to buy his first rig is not offering advice or opinion that seems to say older rigs are bad and or junk because it is offerd as "great beginner rig" and older then most people buying. I still own jump rigs older then me and I'm a POPs. If you know what to look for there are many very good deals to be had, the best complete rig I ever got was 350.00 bucks and was my demo rig for a number of years, while it was a vector 2 made in 89 and a 89 fury and raven 1, it was 12 years old and looked brand new. Many of the retro rigs I own were free or cost of shipping and damm nice rigs too. I also just found a brand new closet queen sweethog with a MR 150 and a raven 1 main, for a girl for 600.00 and she is damm happy to pocket the extra 2500.00 bucks she had for a rig for jumps. It's all in how you shop and do your homework, that counts just because you got screwed don't mean everyone dose. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
