  1. Yea, I love it when people try to tell me I can do it on my laptop or tower as fast as my old Mx-1 system. Ok I should say when I used to, now that I'm retired and all. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. I bet it has a blast handle too, Yea give it to a museum before you hurt yourself you old fart! And if you do jump it, like mark said, GET VIDEO! Oh yea I know a really good museum if you need to find one...... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. Welcome to the old school club, so ya ready to go again? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. All stand and raise "Go West young man, Go West!" you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. No way man, remember Billy tried it but didn't like it, AND he didn't inhale! In other words those old hippies that were all "down with da man" and "free love" and all that shit, sold out and became "Da Man" and them and their country club buddys are making a killing off keeping it illeagal. And now they can take your house and car and take all your bread too for even one plant on your property all while snort'n tons of blow up at the white house, that's why they call it the "white house" well that and the fact that the only black dude there is holding a lantern on the front lawn! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Nope I wouldn't agree, would tell you that you need to make sure the hook is tight so it won't "unhook" on deployment and snag a pc, and there for stay's put to do it's job and open the pack. The older style POB's are easier to "crimp" down and then re-open then the newer style. But if they are used correct there is little risk of a snag. While I have jumped a few containers without POB's and it will work fine without, they tend to need a good elbow slap or at least a good over the shoulder check. Yes they have that reputation. There are many things these old rigs have that are not common on modern rigs and that is why if a person wants to jump that old shit, it is best to seek out advice from those who know what the hell their doing and have been using the gear for a number of years and working on it, I don't advise that some young whippersnapper who finds some old round rig in the dz rigging loft to just dust it off and pencil pack the wart and go jump it. Every mass all round jump we do at the Richmond Boogie, each and every jumper is given a total gear check by more then one person, the final gear check before going to manifest is done by Steve Stewart. This is after gear checks by the likes of Roger Humphries, Don Brewer, Greg Baliey and myself. Each jumer get's least 3 good checks before boarding the AC's, but it is really more like 10. All of the names above have lot's of round jumps, yet they still get the gear checks like everyone else and then Steve gives the final once over, for one thing a lot of the gear is his in the collection, second of all it is his boogie, and third his kids are jumping the gear too (in the group photo fore ground is John stewart, but we're all his kids). No one want's to have anyone bounce ever! And we dam sure don't want anyone to go in at the boogie on a round jump! The all round jump has been going on for, well this year would be the 20th year, however round jumps date back longer then that @ the Richmond boogie. Those rigs have all been gone over and rebuilt to like new and are maintained and taken care of year round, not some junk dragged out once in a blue moon to use. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Ok that one I'll give ya, if you jump a canopy like that, I don't so not a problem. Hasn't been a problem in the low alti, low speed bail outs I have done ( 182 & D-18 engine out, 1,400ft & 1,200 ft), nor has the speeds changed any real amount over the 12 years I have been using the same pc and I'll H&P it anyday at a low alti or smoke it down to the basement with it, but that is me. We have to agree to disagree here, I haven't found that hard to build one to work as I would like it to. Maybe true for super HP canopies, but never had a problem with it influence my openings. So as we can see here there are two camps on this issue. IMHO there is nothing wrong with a bungee PC however it may not be the best choice if your jumping a 20ft VXZKY super swooper! For me and my two sabre one's 170s they work just fine and have served me well over the years. (Your results may very). you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. Never saw it for sure, POPSJUMPER was key to the set up. You would have thought a crowd of that size and a camera man on hand would be a clue, but no.... I have some way better ones I have to scan and post in a day or two. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Nope, that is a guy named J.R. who now lives in MI, it was his 100th jump award. I love the thread I will have to look for other real good ones I have. Here is a few basic ones. Z-hills & smooch was a guy that was pied in Z-hills and set up by the girl kissing him, don't know who? And then clueless and doc ie Brian "doc" Altman who I took to the farm and set him up for a good one. I have some other real good stills in 35mm I'll have to scan later and up load. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  11. This is a funky line up! (group photo) The others are reposts you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Like what? I've been using one for years and never had a problem at all with it, even at low alti deloyments and at low speeds deployments it has worked 100% of the time for the last 12 years, same PC. Where as the kill line is showing wear and will need replaced soon and is only 6 six years old. I think I will make another bungee to replace it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. I would hope so. And your welcome. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. Well no wonder! (after seeing photo of you) you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. You sent it to me and it is still awaiting the repairs, some stupid rigger tore the living shit out of it doing a "pull test" and fucked it up real good. We will have to replace many gores and I have been waiting to find another y&B one to use for the replacement panals, I might just have to use F-111 or zero P, but I would really want it back to orginal. So in other words some one ruined a good MK-1 by not knowing what the hell they were doing. And for you new riggers out there taffta will tear real easy if there is a little hole or small tear already, that don't mean it's rotten! I don't think many these days even know what sun rot looks like. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. 20 packed and ready to jump and there are parts for another 5 or 6, when the owners of other rigs are here there are 30 rigs total to jump. Many posters here have seen or jumped some of the rigs. The last big jump we did was 2004 Richmond Boogie we dropped 19. It's getting hard to find that many stupid fuckers willing to jump that old shit. But really it's not as bad as many will have you think. Landing aren't that bad, I get stand up's a lot, not always but a lot of the time. Most of the canopies I have are very nice with low jump numbers and are like new. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Well if you ever want to make a road trip I got a lot to chose from all ready to go. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Hate to bust your bubble there, but your already well on your way to being a victim of AIDS! What you don't understand is your busting your mans nuts and crushing his ego by doing something he has not the balls to do and that makes him look bad around his beer swillin chicken wing eat'n football watch'n bar loser crowd, so while your out jumping and having fun he's talking shit about you to belittle you in front of his buds to try to reinflate his nut sack and pretend he is macho, the same type of dillhole that shows up at the dz and in front of his chick he is all strut'n around like billy badass till they get to the door and then turn into a big cry baby chicken shit, we all have seen um and you will to if your around long enough. Better get your lawyer to draw up the papers now so you can cutaway. Non skydiver dudes ego's just can't handle a skydiva. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. Yep I had a student who was just like you about 11 years ago, she cutaway from dillhole and showed up at the dz one night and asked to stay in the camper, she never left and now she my wife and we jump together. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. That is because you been around the block a time or two and know how the "good old boy " club works. When following your leaders, watch what you step in. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. Tell you what why don't you call up Mr. Bangs and ask him to send you a copy of the "midwest report" and see what he says.... The answer is NO is was distroyed so they didn't look fools in the eyes of the FAA and get sued by those they tried to slander, Some of us don't/won't forget the fucking in the ass we as members got from HQ! It would interesting to hear what ever line of bullshit he might try to feed you. They spent membership money to produce it and hire there GK buddy, the membership has a right to read it, but you'll never get a copy. If I posted what I really think about Needels and Bangs it would be a PA and I would get banned, even if it is true. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. Let's not for get if you file formal complants they go out of their way to hire one of their former golden weenies pals to help cover up what they don't want the membership to know about and protect their buddys! I have no respect for those two and I say good riddins, the sooner we flush the GK's out of office the better, they have been in for to many years. IMHO you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. Get used to it, that happends all the time. You can go to work and get 25 people who all will sign up for a group outing and when the day comes to go you'll be lucky if 5 show up, but at least you'll get to hear some really good or lame reasons as to why they can't go. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. No you missed the point john, did I say this operator was shady? No I said those who are, you might wished some one had spoke up about them one day But because of people like you many people keep their mouth shut about bad shit they know about, because people like you call them rats or snitching. It's your poor choice of words I talking about, maybe the locals know and are to worried about being labled a snitch or rat by the likes of you that keeps their mouth shut while some duck tape and bailing wire repairs are made. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. You know John it's not the 70's anymore and someone telling the Fed's about some shady operator just might save your ass one day, then again if you find your ass riding a crashing AC to your death due to some sub standard repairs by a shady operator, you might just wish someone had Snitched as you so put it, but then again you might not really care as with many others. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
