  1. I'm sure most of you have seen them but for those of you that haven't. Here's one. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me on the day I saw an entire class of kindergartners leashed up in the park. I couldn't stop laughing. 10 kids all leashed to the child in front of them is hilarious. I couldn't even find that pic without laughing my ass off in the middle of the computer lab.
  2. How does that line go? 'Treat women like dirt and they will stick to you like mud.' Something like that.
  3. I don't know how UPT does it. But what I wrote was the method described to me. Whether UPT uses it or the software your friend uses I have no idea.
  4. Yeah, I've been planning to call them but I forget or just never get around to it so I thought I would ask on here. Maybe seeing this thread in the morning will remind me to call.
  5. Does anyone know if there is any UV protection that is safe to use on containers? It is almost a requirement since I got a neon color. I didn't find many threads on it, most of them seem to be about scotch guard. Which brings me to another question can you put scotch guard on after putting UV protection on? Or does anyone know of a combo UV/dirt protection?
  6. So she has taken an interest in your company, possibly running it someday and she can pack? Will she be at Summerfest next year?
  7. Yes I have 2 brothers. While I live with my parents, like you I have never had them pay a cent for any of my skydiving. As for work I invest. And don't YOU, DARE say that me investing isn't real work. It takes a lot of work. As far as you paying your way for everything when you turned 19 which, if your profile is up to date, means it was 36 years ago. I'm no econ major but I'm pretty sure COL was much lower back then.
  8. Really? Go back to my very first post and show me where I brag or boast. So once again Quit yer bitchin' and cryin' and get over it.
  9. For real. These people are getting pretty worked up in here. Seriously, what is it people? Jealousy? Are ya'll just jealous that you didn't have enough money laying around when you first started out to jump as much as you wanted and buy new gear? Are you pissed cause I still get to live at home and you guys have to pay rent or a mortgage? Quit yer bitchin' and cryin', and get over it.
  10. I NEVER fall thru or too close to ANY cloud!!! Now.... industrial haze is a whole different story! I was about to mention industrial haze as well.
  11. So when you were my age, you walked into the house (assuming you were living at home) after buying something expensive and told your parents exactly how much you spent on it? Without even being asked? That's how a lot of you are making it sound. Maybe most of you missed the part of the post where I said if they ask I will tell them.
  12. its not freefall but... skip to 0:43 I like: Does it hurt when your parachute pulls you upward?
  13. I was mostly referring to posts such as #46 and #50. Those definitely don't qualify as value. Your last post addressed the immediate topic at hand. However, whether I should buy my own AAD, while related, wasn't the actual question. So while I don't think it had no value it's just not the kind I was looking for. I'm pretty much all tied up in the market. Sell stock. Me, it goes on my parents credit card but then I pay them back from, surprise, stocks. Advice on which? The actual question or what the thread has morphed into?
  14. Why don't you want them asking how much you're spending then? Might they ask you to start paying rent if you have that kind of money to throw around? It's not even that. It's just that they seem to think everything I spend my money on is a waste. They haven't said it with skydiving equipment yet... I don't know why they care, I mean it is my money. I'm pretty sure it's not because they wish I would start paying rent. Even when I was like 16 (and, yes, working for it) and had money to spend they would always be complaining about me spending money.
  15. I thought I answered it and a couple others with the change in my sig line. I'm done with this thread now, though. It looks like all the posts that will be of value ended awhile ago.
  16. I told them the cost of AFP and my container. It's the main and reserve that they haven't asked me about.
  17. yeah, I do. And your point is... I know a ton of people my age who still live at home while going to school.
  18. I do pay for things on my own. You should probably get your facts straight before you talk shit.
  19. So you're not honest with Mommy & Daddy, and basically wanna 'scam' them into buying you something so you can feel better about playing with the big kids... If you were MY kid I'd just give ya an acid mesh reserve and a fistfull of jump tickets! How freakin' old ARE you? (chronologically that is) its not like im not being honest. just withholding info. if they do ask i will tell them.
  20. Like $340. It depends on how intricate your design is because someone has to sit there and recreate your design in the stitching program. I guess they have to determine what type of stitch to use what direction it needs to go and a ton of stuff like that. I put it together in Illustrator. Illustrator is much better for little projects like this. Never use Photoshop with anything that you need the text to be super crisp on. if you have any other questions you can PM me.
  21. Dude!, after the stunt you pulled to pay for your AFP? WTF I still got more $$$. It's just a matter of would my parents be more upset if I used more college money to buy it or if i asked them to buy it for me.
  22. ...maybe. But, no. I didn't even really consider an AAD until I started wingsuiting.
  23. They seem to be okay with it but I guess I should ask them. I never really talked to them about it. Mainly because they never acted or sounded worried. If they don't like me skydiving its probably because I've only spent like 3 weekends with my family since I started skydiving. EDIT: I'm not necessarily saying new. Even something with like 2-4 years left would give me time to get my shit together. At which point I could buy a brand new one.
  24. buy your child an AAD, if they asked for it as a birthday/Christmas present? I know it would be a hell of an expensive present but knowing that it could possibly save their life someday would you buy it for them? I'm not sure whether to even ask for one because I don't really want my parents questioning how much i am spending on my rig. Also if you as a parent weren't a skydiver and your child was, would you buy it for them?
