  1. to the skydiving community. Like everyone else I'm finally starting to post. I'm new in terms of length of time in the sport (6 weeks). but I just passed the B license test. I guess that means I'm still new, but it gave me a way to brag.
  2. See attached pictures. First the information -Jump 38 -Safire2 249 -Wing loading of .85:1 -sitfly jump -transitioned to belly for about 3-5 seconds before deployment -packed by a packer who has done many packs I was told it could have something to do with the dive since I was only on my belly for a few seconds before deploy but that it still shouldn't do what it did. The opening was a little hard but not much harder than some jumps I've had in the past. EDIT: Just realized this may need to go in gear & rigging admins feel free to move it.
  3. I have a couple. And after only 58 jumps. 1) was going through AFP and thought I was in my holding area so I decided I would do some red zone turns right over some trees. Luckly made it back to the landing area. barely. oops. 2) Flew across a river on a windy day. oops. 3) I was trying to make a 5 min call and just like Ron I hopped on a load with my chest strap done improperly (routed over the front of the hardware instead of through). Lucky for me I caught it during gear checks before exit.
  4. Being new to the sport feel free to take what I say with a grain of salt. But I have always been told that if you end up at a long spot pull high. Now I realize this can't always be done if you have other groups following you out that plan to pull at their normal pull altitude, but if you can it seems to work well. The other week I had a spot about a mile out with winds that were somewhat weak. Lucky for me I was last one out and I was able to pop at 5 and was able to release my breaks and do the controllability check and still made it back and within 20 M of the target. But like I said I'm new so feel free to ignore what I say.
