Packer common courtesies...
skittles_of_SDC replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I now pack for myself most of the time (used a packer when starting out for about the first 60 jumps) but when I'm having one of those days where i don't wanna pack I do tip. And have always tipped them at the end of the day on any day I used them. I always just say 'Hey (insert packers name here), do you have any slots available today?' Sometimes they say yes sometimes they say no. If one says no just try another. -
Smallish Canopy for Beginner

Why even ask? Seems like you are in a hurry so just go small right off the bat. Walking is overrated anyway. -

Oh, ok. I noticed they were from different countries and figured it had to do with that but wasn't exactly sure. Thanks. -

does anybody know what the (G) next to some of the team names means? -
Great movie. It gets quoted at my DZ quite a bit.

Black Skydivers - Okay folks, games up....

I've been wondering this for a long time. I've seen groups of tandems come in but I think I have personally only seen 1 african american experienced skydiver. -
Hey, I’ve got an idea.... Maybe we all should post every boobie pic we can find on-line. That way (sooner or later) her boobs will be posted here whether she likes it or not As far as I know my boobs have never hit the Internet. Thank God! I have bolded the key phrase.

Thank you for your post. Very good information. So is this something that an instructor can't really tell you if you're ready for?

I'm not even jumping with video yet, although I hope to once I get to 200 jumps. I have only seen recommended jump numbers for jumping video (200) but not still cameras. What is the recommendation for jumping still cameras? I don't intend to jump one for quite some time but the question just crossed my mind. Edit: Velocity is not the only person to tell me that 200 jumps doesn't necessarily make you ready. What should one look for to determine if they are ready to jump camera?

I'm single-ish like always. But I do hate being single, yet at the same time I usually don't like being in a relationship. maybe it's because I haven't been with someone I truely liked yet. so anyway since we are all giving excuses for being single (oh sorry were you guys calling them reasons ): I'm an asshole. I'm not the best looking guy. I'm shy. I lack self confidence. (ironically most people think the complete opposite)

I THINK a couple of airports state side have had those for awhile now. i remember seeing the news report about them and thinking how ridiculous they are.
-
I don't know about that. They sit over the ear and as far as I know aren't noise canceling. Not to mention that the new ones (thump split) have removable ear buds that I would be afraid would pop off. I personally would just go the noise canceling with the nike remote route.
-
I have heard of this. One guy I talked to actually had some Shure noise canceling ear buds and then had a nike amp chest mounted or something like that so he could remotely change music even in freefall. Ever since he told me about it I have wanted to give it a try. Note: Nike Amp only works with the iPod Nano.

I guess I should have said 'a lot of'.

Assuming you really are 16, you seem pretty bright for your age so you may have taken this into account and you may not have. It would kind of be pissing your money away to get licensed at 16 unless you plan to travel to TN every time you feel like jumping. Even if you are licensed a USPA member DZ won't let you jump at 16. From what you have said it sounds like you don't have any non-member DZ's near you. So is it really worth spending the money to get licensed just to have to travel every time you want to jump? Just my .02. BTW, the skydiving community is a tight knit one. Don't start burning bridges before you even get into it. Just a friendly little tip.

dammit. where the hell was I? Probably banging some chick in your trailer at the DZ. We did talk about you! ruh oh! (they need a scooby doo icon)
