You refer to Websleuth Forum where Dvorak & Myers introduced their Mayfield scenario in tandem with _ _ _ _ TV airing their contentions. Then Dvorak suddenly died, apparently (auto accident?). The whole case collapsed amid controversy. Mayfield was/is Mayor of his small community at the time so there were strong political overtones. The whole thing struck me as a textbook case of bottomfeeding based on pure conjecture. Posters at Websleuths handled the whole thing well and remained objective, I thought. In fact I was surprised at how objective posters remained through it all - a plus in favor of poster objectivity when it counts! Sluggo and Snowmman stood out and handled it all well, I thought. Myers and Dvorak left no doubt they were convinced and were dogged in their pursuit of . . . . the truth? As I remember this the whole thing came down to four claims: (a) Mayfield had the skills to do the crime (b) Mayfield called H shortly after the hyjacking to assure H he had not done this and was not involved, (c) some unexplained financial matters Dvorak/Myers claimed they had found in Ted's background, and (d) Myers and Dvorak's claim of a criminal record in Mayfield's background? Myers/Dvorak denied and/or skirted all issues of the Cooper physical profile not applying to Mayfield. Himmelsbach was interviewed by the media during the Myers/Dvorak episode. Last I knew you could still read the whole thing at Websleuths. I havent checked lately - but there may still be a vid about it at Yourtube? I still don't underdstand why Mayfield didn't sue -

I didnt mean to be sharp with you concerning names ... sorry if it came across that way. Its just that some have spent a long time on all of this and names pretty get ordained, become icons, eg Teddy vs a Ted. Teddy as in Teddy Mayfield aka Teddy Bear. All of this has historical background you could only know if you've been here (involved) a while. Some feel Myers and Dvorak and a TV station not worth mentioning did a real number on Ted Mayfield. Some were surprised Ted didnt sue the hell out of all concerned. Its one thing to be investigating - its quite another to be promoting and making public allegations which harm a person's life. Jerry knows all about Teddy and H. Maybe Jerry will explain a few things to you off record - or maybe he won't. Jerry's choice. It sufficies to say Ted Mayfield was investigated thoroughly, over time, independent of Ralph Himmeslbach, and Mr. Mayfield came out clean in the Cooper case. These are of course just my opinions...

I will side with Jerry on this. Nuff said. I will also explain, I think, something about Jerry. Jerry is also a very compassionate and loyal person. Jerry's remarks were meant to make things easier for Brian, who Jerry respects. Its all history now ... Brian does read this forum from time to time (I am told). Was I far wrong Jerry?

By all accounts there were bill fragments both at or near the surface and under sand when Palmer excavated. The FBI and the FBI's spokesperson, Jerry Thomas, wont be more specific. It's pointless to speculate. And at this point I dont believe anything anyone says. I am relying on well documented historical accounts and records I have seen with my own two eyes. Everything else is suspect for a million different reasons, some of which we have witnessed firsthand in this forum. Maybe somebody at the FBI has a solid overall view of the whole thing. Maybe yes. Maybe no. I just know for a fact nobody here does.

If H intervened in behalf of Harold Dwayne Ingram that may be new however the fact of an arrest warrant for Harold in the SW and Harold having to return to deal with it was publicised. Be careful how you throw names around. "Teddy" was "Teddy Mayfield". I dont see how "ted's" template applies to Cooper apriori? Explain that? By the same extension Duane's template applies to Cooper! And we all know Duane was aboard Apollo-13, had contacts on, but all the LIARS are keeping it from being a clear undeniable fact.

The FBi was doing nothing but watching and wondering/laughing. Snowmman was out looking for a candidate based on his belief a specific skills set is at the core of this case ... When you add in a proprietary element to the above you get exactly what we have, which is gridlock. The seeds of that were obvious in the first few posts made in this forum years ago and here it is today in fuller more expanded form. Bruce is the only exception doing any rreal searching and talking that matters. When Bruce first hit this forum with his idiotic Barb story I never would have predicted Bruce would mature beyond the Dayton story, but little did I know! He has and its wonderful to see! Like Jo Weber, how did Snowmman become so central to this case? That's what I would like to know. And, the same question can be applied to any of us.

Really? PROVE IT. Duane is a far worse fit than Gosset. Gosset was a trained military parachutist who possessed many of the skills needed for NORJACK. He had worked at Ft. Lewis. Duane as far as I can tell had ZERO parachute training or experience. You think he was an inmate smoke jumper, yet can produce no evidence other than a "disappeared" photo that contradicts all the well documented history of smoke jumper operations in the western US. To my eye, Duane is not nearly as good match to the FBI sketch as Gosset. Braden is a stunning match, but we have an witness eye color description that probably rules him out. Braden was a very clever guy, had a motive, was a criminal and had combat HALO experience that would be about the best prep for NOJACK that one could have. Why do you say "Weber is the only one who fits"? You must be tired of my confrontations Jo. Just put ALL your cards on the table, verified or unverified, and I will cut you some slack. Its a foregone conclusion Jo will disagree, but alas this has been going on forever, more than a decade, with not one positive result even from Jo and WE, whoever WE is. From our point of view (with limited data) we can only know of those individuals who recommend themselves via the media or who are recommended to us. The FBI already eliminated Duane. It's as simple as that. They perhaps did not do it as emphatically as they might have. I am rather sure future developments will supply that emphasis by way of explicating other elements of the old Cooper case.

It would help if he fit any aspect of the physical description. I know no one but me takes that seriously. I caught most of Nat Geo's program on the genetic history of the Human Race, several nights ago. I caught myself wondering where Cooper fits in. Maybe the Mediterranean thread is true?
