Jo, You can forget Pyramid Lake since it is northeast of the Reno airport. Just a handful of miles north of the Red Bluff, CA airport, the airliner turned and flew directly to the Reno airport. Moreover, she obviously hasnt read the transcript for this part of the flight. It begs me to ask: why are people in this!? Obviously not due to interest in the case or knoweldge about it but for "social media" reasons having nothing to do with the Cooper case. It could be any case. Hlel it could be: "I wanna write a book and be famous" . Evidence is the last thing these people are concerned with. Its fame and glory, and social pathology!

I believe we discussed this in private emails some years back. The route changed, due to fuel needs. I believe that DB's plan changed as well, as he would not be going over a predetermined spot. I cannot even imagined that an experienced or inexperienced person would jump into a storm at night not knowing what was below. I can imagine a person waiting for visibility below them to jump. Is there a way to know what the weather conditions were on the route near Pyramid Lake on the night of the jump? It is as clear as day you do not have the "facts" of the case. You are making this up as you go along speculating. "I cannot even imagined .... I can imagine ... Is there a way to know what the weather conditions were on the route near Pyramid." Can you imagine Russia from your back porch ? Its a hobby isnt it. Pyramid Lake is almost as far NORTH of Seattle as Portland is SOUTH ? I'm just speculating as to why he chose that specific route. Was Seattle integral to his plan or would have any 727 out of Portland sufficed? There seems to be no way to know for sure if he had some plan to jump in a very specific spot, or no plan at all. What do you think "the right time" would be? I keep telling you they were trying to keep track of what was going on in the cabin so the time of the jump (along with physical evidence: oscillations + bump) pretty well covers when Cooper jumped, unless someone is lying. BTW, that cabin area isnt that large a space to keep track of ? As for the flight, there are just too many aspects of that flight that make it an opportunity. The flight (time etc) may have been more important than the route or even the location? A holiday burglary when nobody is home at a time and place where you dont expect much resistance. Against a company that always cooperates. In a place where law enforecement isnt very good and the weather is covering you! You hunt ducks where they are when they are available to hunt. Whether Cooper thought tactically at all is a mystery, but all of these elements favored Cooper whether he knew it or not, or ever thought about it or not. Add to this we do not have the full story of this hijacking, it is a vacuum which anyone can fill with 'I know who did it!'. The only reason the FBI allows this charade to continue is because they cannot prove anyone did it, or they know and it cant be prosecuted. Their only choice left at this late date is to close the case and be done with it. They cant continue to answer phone calls from the press and wackos, forever! The rest is all smoke and mirrors on everyone's part, including the interested public. The media turned this case into a Loch Ness Monster story long ago.

Been mentioned before. Was examined. Finding anything new in this case is next to impossible. (except of course for Bruce and Blevins)

Inmates you interviewed from years ago say exactly what I say? Well, that made a lot of sense. Okay, not really. You may need Star Wars Addiction Intervention here. Just saying. And who is 'us?' The subject at hand was reliability of sketches, posters, descriptions from victims (even those with high blood pressure and fear factors you claim makes witness descriptions unreliable as a rule ...) Practically every person I worked with denied the effectiveness of law enforecement procedures and tools, and witness accounts. "Im innocent and they have the wrong guy". And yet here they were sitting in prison, caught by the very things they denied were reliable and effective. Its a common theme in law enforcement. You are just claiming an exemption for yourself, little smily faced Kenny, and your book. Sorry. Won't work.

One point on which some of the posters and I strongly disagree: Police sketches are NOT photographs and should not be taken as God's Truth on What the Hijacker Looked Like. They should be considered only a general guide, and eyewitness descriptions can be Just Plain Wrong on some points. Especially when most of the people giving them were experiencing heart rates in excess of 160 beats a minute due to fear that their lives could end in the next moment. Do you have any actual stats which apply to the Cooper case or the Seattle FBI office say from 1965- 1975 which prove your claim? Do you have any stats from anything that relate to your claim? Do you have any examples or expertise for your claim? Like everything else, you will decline to answer, and then say it again 50 more times, just to see yourself in print for the world to read? Point of order: The official wanted poster on the hijacker mentions 'possibly from Midwest section of US.' Get real. The hijacker was homegrown, born and bred in the good old USA. If he were a foreigner, the FBI would have figured that out pretty quick. And so would the stews. *Conspiracy Theory Alert* Point of order? Point of information. The choice of midwest was due to: the witness testimony, ie. no accent, no dialect, and to his use of one phrase several times which a linguist said has its origin in Chicago. I made it clear to the History Channel folks that the comic book was interesting, but not much of a clue. Our initial investigation made us believe that the comic book was possibly left behind at NWA's day room on Shemya by pilots who were constantly dropping off reading material for the poor saps stationed there. You always act as if the Cooper investigation is NOT a fluid thing. There have been many twists and turns ever since the start, and when I've been wrong on things, I will reverse myself if necessary. Maybe... Many think Cooper was a jumper and possibly a sport jumper. The FBI sent agents all over the skydiving community right after the skyjack. They looked at over 14,000 USPA membership records. They sent undercover agents to DZs. Most people have driven a motor vehicle. That criteria doesn't narrow the search much. If Cooper was a jumper then we are looking at a much smaller universe and one to which this website is deeply connected. 378 Or, if he had makeup all over him then look in a brothel? I really like Smokin99's reply and second it. We have a neighborhood here. Others look at us and say some of you can do better. You don't have to live around crazies and homeless people. There is a nice gated community over at Google or Yahoo that is so much cleaner. This forum has one big advantage in that it's part of a skydiving website. Many jumpers who are not regular posters do read it and jump in once in a while to add valuable historical or technical info. Larry Carr says the case is basically a bank robbery. To others it's basically a skydive. Everybody has their own perspective. I like it here. It's home. It's family. People threaten to leave all the time, but they come back.
