O2 in properly maintained tanks is actually pretty safe. Smoking around one isnt very risky, but it's a better practice not to. So, how many new O2 sources have (you and others) identified since this debate started, plus new instances of actuall fires and fire hazards ... Smoking around one isnt very risky, but it's a better practice not to. Especially since one might explode on its own just sitting in its nest! I now see how smoking IS beside the point!

If he had the match book why would he lean in close? IF he had the matchbook...Why did she light it? Another missing "s"? Were these matches supplied by Tina? She lit the cigarette. Sounds like a lovely work of fiction Someone remind me - was this meant to have happened before or after the other passengers had left the plane? I think before, but don't quote me. According to Bruce Smith (here we go again), Tina lit eight Raleigh cigarettes for him while he (DB) kept his hand on the bomb trigger. Hmmm.....Dominate hand (assuming) on the Dynamite trigger plus matches plus lit cigarettes in his (assumption) non-dominate hand. A multi-tasker. Scary stuff. Post 1, pg 72: She struck a match to one for him. Post 2, pg 73: When he ran out of matches, she used the ones she had. This singular vs multiple stuff is making my head hurt.

Typical airliner pressurization systems couldn't even achieve sea level pressure at cruising altitudes. No supplemental O2 was added to cabin air. How do you see that as oxygen rich? 377 377 Was 305 flying pressurised from PDX to SEA? What altitude did they fly - nothing in the Transacript? Pressure ~ altitude. The same percentage of oxygen exists at 10k ft + as at sea level. This flight however was flying through storms so O3 was very likely elevated. In addition there are those canisters of O2 directly above above where Cooper is sitting - not a good place to be lighting up with a fellow who has announced he has a bomb. see - http://www.solarstorms.org/WHOAirlines.html

Surely you have learnt by now that Gray's book is hardly the most trustworthy of references??? I have to wonder about the whole issue of matchbooks on an airplane, smoking, ashtrays, matchbooks in ashtrays, etc back in the 70s? Oxy rich environment and all that? Evidently smoking was allowed. No smoking during takeoffs and landings - I do remember that.

Hardly the first time or last time that advertising is done to a captive audience/.) Here's where Blevins is headed: Sky Chef matches > Kenny > pursor for NWA > concierge > reason to have Sky Chef matches on him. Maybe Kenny was even getting a kickback from Sky Chef, if he was in a position to do that? The rest is just Blevins screwing around laying a foundation to spring with. Blevins the coy.

"all I care about is the truth" = If evidence points to Duane as DBC, it's the truth. If it points away, it's FBI or JT misinformation, false, irrelevant, etc. Jo's work presents a classic case of biased research. It's hard to recognize your own bias. Not just for Jo but for everyone, myself included. Poor Marla. Her star burned so bright, but so briefly. I really don't know what's left for her. Will her book even be printed? It will go straight to remainders if it is. I might buy it for 99 cents. I do blame Snowmman for leading Marla astray with the Dan Cooper comics. My DBC walkie talkie speculation is far less blameworthy. She could have easily made that up on her own, just like I did. 377 Did Gray mention titanium sponge at the book promotion you attended?

Was it ever identified by any of the witnesses as being on his person?

No. Any coatings on the glass would be inert and nonreactive in any event, like the coating on a binocular lens. Keep in mind we dont even know if this was Cooper's tie or whose tie it was - just that chances are it was Cooper's - but its a question. I do wonder if there might be titanium sponge coatings to some of the plane parts, in some paint, or even part of some mix on a filter or on the inside of the ducts in the air system ??? Im just speculating ... The chemistry of the particles will identify the possible sources. I always told Tom we needed a chemist! Im saying that for Tom alone - only he understands and will know the humor in it! But he knows Im serious. This is a joke in case there's any doubt. A historical joke. Im going for a walk -

at the end a few websites which explains titanium sponge in detail - Ti sponge is very specific if Tom has ID'd it correctly. The next issues are: what ratio (what mix), pure in powder form or something else less processed ? Knowing the chemical properties of it can lead straight to its source (flares or something else). That is a neat little discovery with a story of some kind. Could it be something used in a filter in the plane? But keep in mind directly behind and above Cooper are oxygen canisters, if Im correct. Even if his bomb was flares, the right combination of oxygen and some basic knoweldge on Cooper's part could have made one helluva a bomb or a fire (without dynamite). http://www.innovateus.net/earth-matters/what-titanium-sponge http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/titanium-sponge-powder-for-fireworks.html http://www.northstarpyro.com/PYROTECHNIC_METALS-TITANIUM_SPONGE_POWDER.html http://www.reade.com/Products/Elements/titanium.html http://www.wellmetusa.com/titanium.html

Yeah, I saw that. The one that was particularly interesting to me was the Red Cross inert dynamite. Edited to say - can't really tell if it's red or not. Apparently that brand was popular in agricultural settings. There's even a handbook for farmers. "How to use Red Cross dynamite" put out by Dupont, in the early 1900s. http://www.scribd.com/doc/33290335/How-to-use-red-cross-dynamite-Du-Pont-farmer-s-handbook-USA-1912 It was just taking forever to download so I didn't see a pic of the real thing. I guess it's a moot point anyway since whatever it was seemed to have worked like a charm for what it was intended to do, huh? attachment - color would probably depend on where he got whatever it was, dynamite vs flares. Flares are generally red or red-orange. Tina was not asked: do the sticks have a cap at one end? Do the sticks look like paper or are they solid tubes? Do the ends look like folded paper or are the ends a solid tube? Did you see a hard thing that looks like a button in the ends of any of the sticks? etc etc ... it

hmmmmmm. Well first, we both mentioned flares, but aside from that.... So obviously there has never been any dynamite made with red wrappers?? I have no idea, but that just sounds so absolute. How would he know that I wonder? Keep in mind TM said the same red as her uniform - we spent weeks on that! Like this flare -

I only researched how Titanium sponge was generally used. I don't just make this stuff up, you know. wHO WROTE THE REPORT? US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY. end use it says. they are talking about ore. the us GEOLOGICAL survey does not keep stats on finished metal useage? Why would they? Any more than they keep stats on carp or light bulbs? For that you go to US Fisheries or NTST or some such thing ... metric tons of sponge metal CONTENT, it says. Keyword CONTENT - they are talking about end use of - - - ORE --- Keep in mind Tom Kaye works with archaeology- geology. I think he is speaking geologically, using a geological term, which has chemical meaning. That is my guess. He bothered to state the "form" the Ti is in as he found it. That's my guess. Here is what it looks like: its a very light spongy material you can sqeeze almost like heat expanded spongy mica you find in potting soils (vermiculite). And placed in a firework or flare it burns very hot and bright - like magnesium but with a higher ignition temp. Its not the kind of thing an ordinary person would run into every day, to say the least, so there must be some very specific source.
-
Yeah, it says "END-USE" statistics. How does that contradict what Georger said? Does anyone know WHAT form of Titanium sponge was actually found on the tie? I don't. I only said how the material was generally used, which is mostly by the aerospace industry, although it has many other uses as well. That's all. I'm not a scientist, folks, or a metallurgist either. You just dont git it! Ti sponge IS THE FORM!
-
377 You mean aircraft makers smelted- forged their own metals too?
-
hmmmmmm. Well first, we both mentioned flares, but aside from that.... So obviously there has never been any dynamite made with red wrappers?? I have no idea, but that just sounds so absolute. How would he know that I wonder? Go on Google Images and see how many red dynamite images you find. Note the makers.

Titanium sponge: It has many uses, but in a four-to-one ratio based on total metric tonnage used each year, it is mostly used in the aerospace industry. USGS reports that since 1975 this has been the case. Figures older than that are not readily available. . Bulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ony. Wrong application again, and irrelevant. Guess again. Kluk kluk kluk. Clue: Ti "sponge" is an intermediate form, ie unprocessed form. The aerospace industry does not use titanium 'dirt' but mainly processed forms - finished metal plate etc. Even shavings or dust would not be in the raw natural sponge form. Unprocessed Ti sponge dirt (which is porous, light, and cheap) is used just as it is in the pyrotechnic industrry, as a Constituent in pyrotechnic fuses and combustible compositions, ie flares. Also used in sponge form in photo-flash ignition pastes in the 70s. Can also be found in some recipes for - dynamite. (usually cheap dynamite?) "Surplus titanium sponge capacity is likely to overhang the market until 2012 and prices will remain relatively subdued through the next two years."

Intact stacks with rubber band residue is supported with the pix and the original reportage. . What does 'reportage' add to the debate? Plummage? What nexteth in the reportage? Au jus con dindar? Maldum fornax sauce? Quite obviously, the money was attacked by anti matter and 13 types of silver. Is there a psychiatrist in the house!?

If Kaye really said that stuff, then I consider that little part of the book to be a key element. . You would! Have a nice dream.

Gray did an interview with Tom Kaye, and spent quite a bit of time with him. You want to call him a liar, to say he misquoted Kaye? You tell him yourself. Otherwise I will accept that the interview is accurate and Kaye is fairly quoted. You should go to the source and ask Tom Kaye if that quote from the book is accurate. I have his email address and will give it to you in a PM if you wish. So follow your own advice. Dont give advice. You are the one making the statements. Orange didnt bring this up - you did, you pompous ass. Knock off the name-calling. As a matter of fact, I just pulled up Kaye's dot com email and sent him the quote from the book. I suggested he come to DZ and confirm whether it is accurate or not. I'm not pompous, only a little defensive sometimes. My email address and phone are open info via the Media page at our website. You can imagine the calls and emails I get every week. Some are okay, others are not so nice. After a while, you get sort of a thick skin about it. There are a lot of crazy people out there, especially regarding the Cooper case. Fortunately I dont have to get into this. Its between you and Tom and Gray.

Opportunity for what? Hijacking vs Two gay guys spend weekend in a trailer together, over the day of the hijacking no less? Congrats! What you have established is that Kenny was not DB Cooper! You have proved the very opposite of what you claim to have proved. How's that for irony? I think from now on I will ignore your posts. Don't see what else I can do. You are not reasonable at all and have a serious lack of manners. I try not to make claims I can't prove with evidence and when I am mistaken on something regarding the Cooper case I will own up to it and move on. FYI: Geestman is not gay, and you should not continue to say this since it is A LIE. He has children, a family, and currently lives with a nice woman up in Port Angeles. You want to pull out the Gay Card on him regarding the days surrounding the hijacking, fine. I once thought you had a modicum of credibility since you did that investigation with Tom Kaye, but all you are doing here is trashing that credibility to pieces. This is not my doing, it's yours. And instead of addressing any points I make, all you do is make trashy, gutter-oriented remarks. Main reason: That's all you got. So? Opportunity for what? Hijacking vs Two Christian guys spend the weekend in a trailer, fishing, playing checkers and praying, over the very day of the hijacking no less? Congrats! What you have established is that Kenny was a Christian and could not be DB Cooper! You have proved the very opposite of what you claim to have proved. How's that for irony? Mathew 26:26 Ps: Have you checked police reports for the weekend, re- Paradise Park?

You have posted all of this now twice at least. Nobody cares! You are taking up valuable bandwidth - as you constantly remind us.

Four weeks after that, Helen Jones ran into Kenny at the laundromat and he admitted to being with Geestman. You can cut that any number of ways, and it doesn't prove they did the hijacking. But it is another small piece of circumstantial evidence showing opportunity. Opportunity for what? Hijacking vs Two gay guys spend weekend in a trailer together, over the day of the hijacking no less? Congrats! What you have established is that Kenny was not DB Cooper! You have proved the very opposite of what you claim to have proved. How's that for irony?
