You people just astound me! Ive never encountered anything as screwed up as this in my life! I seriously doubt my brother at the crime lab in Madison-Appelton-Green Bay ever encountered anything as 'fcked' up as this in his whole career! There is something basically wrong with the forensics loop in this case. A massive passive-aggresive-avoidance syndrome or something ? They should have closed this fiasco clear back in December 1971 and saved everyone a headache!

This is all relative. Some lab people would see this as a challenge-supreme. Multiple donors can be a challenge worth pursuing. It is a mistake for outsiders to prejudge anything in this case. Even a hair cemented in a slide with balsam (the old method) still presents a challenge which archeogeneticists would welcome. Lab people face more complex problems every day! The FBI Lab already produced some genetic data. Start there! Or maybe this is impossible due to the people involved. That happens also.

A number of private labs want nothing to do with this - because: its the DB Cooper case and a social media nightmare - guaranteed! Maybe Cooperites could try card counting computer switches in their shoes - instead! Meanwhile the rest of the real world goes on . . .

Compare genetic work done in the Ötzi case with what has been done in the Cooper case ! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ötzi So far as I know, the FBI has still not shared anything it has with the public. That includes evidence it may have and testing results it has. We are left to read posts about dinosaur dna contamination debates ? The Ötzi case is far more interesting, while the Cooper case hasn't offered up anything to have a debate much less a discussion about! The Cooper case is still wandering in the wilderness 50 years after the fact. There is literally nothing to even start a discussion about !!

Maybe Gunther was contacted by Cooper's girlfriend, and maybe Moses parted the seas too, after all ! The times we live in make it all possible. Maybe the dna pulled off the stamp by experts belongs to Ooana and Charlie Chaplin ? Only tyme will tell.

Dont worry. Others are discussing professional dna testing - I am part of that conversation, in the background. I hope there is a breakthrough by summer. The sooner the better. But, professional guidance is necessary. Good people are conversing about what it will take etc. Permissions need to be obtained with a solid plan . . . etc. The outlook is positive due to the good people involved ... Im optimistic something worthwhile may happen.

Regarding striking matches vs the tie ... Find a slo mo of matches lighting - its an 'explosive event' - blows particles everywhere in the space around the match lighting. If you strike a match in front of the tie or anywhere in the vicinity of the tie, the tie gets covered by every particle related to the match chemistry.

Gunther can't claim any actual connection to the case or expertise that actually applies to the case, so he has to come up with something that gives him special status! In the end, Gunther claims he was contacted by the hijacker and/or someone close to the hijacker ! That's a tall claim................. The process of gold plating that tie clip probably involved putting an economical metal in a chemical solution that contains gold and then applying an electric current to the piece, unless it was done by the FLY JACK ALLOY METHOD! ? The other metal could have been copper. How do you do it using alloys? Tell us how it was done since you know! Show us a photo of the apparatus? Or is this another one of your FJ 'word" issues ? Plating does not form a alloy. Plating is simply a cover ... mixture sprayed over some base. Alloy: a metal made by combining two or more metallic elements in some process, especially to give greater strength or resistance to corrosion. eg: "an alloy of nickel, bronze, and zinc" Tom's comments about dna are interesting. Multiple donors are no deterrent using today's technology, in fact some would see this as a challenge! Skin (epithelial) cells obtained from the tie knot should be explored aggressively regardless of how many donors are revealed. Somewhere in the mix should be Cooper if this was his tie ? The point is everyone assumes the TBAR money was money given to Cooper is a 100% fact but it is possible based on the convoluted process to create the FBI list that the TBAR money didn't go to Cooper... I think it probably is money given to Cooper but it is something less than 100%... and we can't check,, the fact that 2 bills are missing from the list indicates an error somewhere. Really! ?
