Hypocrite Obama takes almost $400K in tax deductions
Gravitymaster replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
there's not much to do about a return when more than half of a 770k total comes from salary. It doesn't take much of a wizard to get a guy with a quarter billion dollar net worth down low either. The bulk of his income is going to be from investments, which have favorable rates. Nah, it's government attorneys and accountants compared to those in private industry. -

Uhhh.. hate to tell you this but Romney doesn't currently hold any elected office. Your entire argument is pretty silly. But I think you know that. -

Or Bush 1 in Kennebunkport? So you begrudge a President his leisure time? You think they shouldn't have any time to themselves or to spend with their families? Nope - I begrudge Romney his ability to be **hypocritical** and then be defended by people like you. Still having trouble making the distinction between a guy running for President and a guy who is the President, I see. -

bullshit - you begrudge the hell out of it when it's Obama playing. and you missed my point, completely. It's not bad that Bush hid out at Crawford a lot. He can do his job from there. It's not very different from being at Camp David, and he likes it better. But to you, Obama commits the sin of playing golf for a few hours and he's abandoned his leadership role, one that doesn't exist in the Constitution and really is just lame whining by the opposition. Bullshit right back at you. Show where I made such a statement. -

OH BULLSHIT. When it came out that Romney paid and EFFECTIVE rate of 14% very few on the left said "it's just good that he follows the tax laws" Obama has government lawyers and accountants Romney has private coporate attorneys and accountants. No wonder Romney pays a lower rate. And they want to manage my healthcare. -

Hopefully you will realize how dumb what you just said is within the context of this thread about Conservative being in better shape physically. -

My accountant helps prepare in advance by employing tax strategies that defer tax liabilities. Apparently you missed the intent of the reference to HR Block as they simply prepare taxes (for the most part. Although they do have a Premier Service for coprporations). My point is that the disparity between Romney's rate and Obama's might be due to tax planning. -
Golly, I would have thought it was coming from the likes of Limbaugh and Fox, but thanks to that very scientific and un-biased test, created by someone named "Triggermortis" it all has suddenly become very clear to me. No wonder you guys just love to eat up stuff like creationism. Which guys? Oh, I forgot, stereotyping again? How liberal of you.

I'd rather look at that than some beached whale with cellulitus, and rolls of fat accentuated with stretch marks in a skimpy bikini 3 sizes too small. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/653357/

Did he advocate people not taking advantage of current tax laws? I am sure Obama is a hypocrite, almost all of us are. But this is a piss poor example. For 2011 the Obamas made $789,674 and paid tax at an effective rate of 20.5%, which is a lot higher than Romney pays. Obama's proposals would lead to the Obamas paying higher taxes. Romney's proposals would benefit Romney. Some look out for themselves, some look out for the country. Perhaps Obama needs a better accountant. HR Block isn't the best a preparing complx tax returns. -

What does Bush have to do with this discussion? Are you actually defending Obama by claiming that because Bush did something that it's OK for Obama to do it too? I thought you claimed Bush was a lousy President? Bush started a war, does that make it OK for Obama to start wars, too? More BDS? I'm expecting a nationwide epidemic in the next few months, ending in the early part of November. I think maybe he was questioning where all this indignation was ergarding time off during Bush's term. This would be a better example of hypocrisy than Obama's tax return. I don't begrudge any President his leisure time. It's a tough job and I think getting away from it for a while is good for a President. Once again, since some have a blind spot, it isn't about whether the President plays Golf. It's WHEN he chooses to do it. Since that's a factor that some don't seem to understand and since I have repeated it 4 times now. It's also quite different when a candidate for President takes leisure time off when on the campaign trail and when a sitting President decides to take that time. So if you haven't gotten what I'm saying yet, then please feel free to argue with yourself. For the 5th time...It isn't about how many times President takes off, it's WHEN. -
has he? seems like he's doing his best to avoid talking about that aspect. in any event, it's not 10 years of "Obama deficits." So far it's been 3.5 years of "It's all Bush's fault".

I thought your BDS was in remission. Sorry to hear it's back. -
Well magic underwear is funnier than drinking the blood and eating the flesh of someone who lived 2000 years ago. Mormons have that covered, too. They do both magic underwear and the flesh-eating thing. I've heard American Indians have some pretty strange rituals. Is this true?

Romney talks about his thoroughbred horses

since I haven't seen leadership from either party in 2 years, the answer is yes. If you want to be a strict constitutionalist, the President shouldn't be part of it anyway. His role is to approve or veto what Congress decides. His participation should be direct with the Democratic leadership in the House where spending originates. If you prefer the modern Imperial Presidency model, then he can send orders to Congress just as well from the links as he can from the White House. The President is supposed to be the leader of ALL Americans His job is not to direct the Democratic Leadership. His job is to work with both parties to come up with solutions. His job is not to leave town with a "call me when you have it worked out" attitude. -

You mean like Boehner does? Oh wait, Boehner plays golf a LOT more often than Obama. Boehner is not the Chief Executive, elected by the majority of Americans. If Boehner ever becomes President and then plays Golf when he should be in DC showing leadership, then criticism of him would be in order. What part of President and Leadership are you having trouble with? What part of Speaker of the House (that place where legislation is supposed to be written) are you having trouble with? He and the House Minority leader along with the two counterparts in the Senate should showing at least the same level of leadership as the President. Did Boehner take off at a time when his leadership was needed? The criticism isn't about taking time off. It's about WHEN they decide to take off. Let me repeat that for you. It's about WHEN they decide to take off. Please let me know if I need to be clearer. -

As usual, you are mkscharacterizing the criticism of Obama. He hasn't been criticized for playing Golf, only that his timing is pretty bad. Like when budget negotiations are being held, he decides to leave town to play Golf and let the politicians hash it out instead of staying and providing some leadership. When Romney is elected and he takes off and rides horses when he should be in DC showing leadership, then criticism of him would be in order. -
Breathtaking, really.....
