Myself and another instructor at Z-Hills had a discussion a few months ago about this and thought I would ask if others agreed. Should basic life saving / first aid skills be manditory as part of the A license? Several things you can do here. A Try the ipconfig /all - and please post what it says. You can try ping 127.0.0.1 to ping your nic card and see if it returns. If not then the problem is with your nic card. Try a different cable, maybe using a crossover cable instead of a lan cable. By running the network setup wizard you probably have several conflicting networks now. Check control panel / network connections and see how many connections there are. You should have 1394 connection and local area connection, nothing more. If it keeps trying to default to the dialup vpn connection it will be listed here. Simply delete it or disable it. Try ipconfig /release - ipconfig /renew If possible update the winsock to a newer version. You can also try some netsh commands in the cmd, there are several.. You can also try to reset the ipstack netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt (in cmd) Also check the properties of the connection to see if TCP/IP is listed in the protocols. If so go toproperties and make sure "Obtain ip address auto" is selected and make sure "Obtain dns server address" is selected. If tcp/ip is not shown just click install a new protocol and select it from the list. Last but not least check the pc for malwalre if possible. Download avast or avg and burn to a cd on other pc then install on the one that does not work. I would also get into the cmos (f8) on boot and re-arrange the boot order if it runs off F instead of C but that also depends on what drive the OS is on. So this asshole who lives in my neighborhood has one of the riced up cars with the obligitory fart can which is all fine and good... but for the last 2 months he rides through in low gear at high rpm with the sole purpose of making noise and getting attention.
