I couldn't care less about the money... Tony, Paul, Billy, Bob.. they all do great work and I don't want to impact or take away from their business. Besides.. we have seen the quality of my "work", so I highly doubt they have much to be afraid of anyways. I have gotten quite a few videos and wanted to see what it was like on the other side. I want to learn and become better. I'm sure the jump would of been better had I gone with some experienced people and after reading a lot of the comments.. going with 2 low time jumpers was mistake on my behalf whether I had a camera or not. For the record.. I did ask around before I jumped and did not try to hide what I was doing... Some people actually agreed that I was starting off right by going with something small that would easily come off if I had a malfunction related to the camera. In some ways I took steps in the right direction, but in most ways it seems I took a huge leap backward. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

I did not expect it to be received well one way or the other. I did something I've wanted to do since jump one. I did not post it expecting a pat on the back and people to blow smoke up my ass telling me I did a good job if I did not. Nor did I expect some of the rather nasty pm's I got from people. The point is that I fucked up and this was a good learning lesson in what "not" to do. Everyone is looking out for the safety of others and that of my own which I greatly appreciate.

The jump plan was supposed to be that they both track off in a western direction while I went east (on a south jump run. You guys are right.. I did fuck up a few times though. Someone said I never looked for traffic.. maybe I need to upload the entire canopy ride and you will see that I actually fly with my head on a swivel... being the last person down in the landing I saw no reason to check for traffic as there was none. The camera was upside down but I flipped it over which is why everything is backwards.. Yes the landing was from the first jump and put at the end. The cam was looking more down than ahead in both jumps. I asked several people including instructors if they saw a problem with what I was doing and I was pretty much told they did not see it as a problem.. Also what you don't see is that I started recording at 6,000 ft so I would not have to mess with it come time for gear checks. On another note, the 2 people in the 2 way are low time jumpers and I had no intention of being part of their 2 way, I just (Tried) to capture the exit and then keep an eye on them. Never had any intention of docking with them. I was planning to let go on the "set" of ready set go but the count was somewhat erratic. I kept my altitude awareness and broke off at the assigned altitude and did nothing I would not of done myself.. This is in my own defense as I have not read all the replies yet but I anticipate some will get ugly. Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

I have a canon powershot s5 and a small flycam that record in avi format. When I load these into Sony Vegas I get audio but no picture. I do not have this problem with windows movie maker though. What is odd is that when using fraps on my pc it records in avi format and I have no issues. Can anyone shed any light as to why some avi's work and some don't? Well uh.. the camera is very small and the way it looks you would ASSUME the position I had it in to be the right way. Cam only cost me $75 (25% off sale) It is pretty much mounted on an a3 oxygn with velcro and gaff tape. http://www.flycamone.com.au/images/flycamone2/flycamone2.jpg That is the camera I used so that is why I was shocked at the quality. For $75-100 I expected it to be a lot less. That said.. thanks for the positive feedback. Now all I gotta do is get the damn thing mounted right so I can see what I intend to film. The first jump I made alone and the cam was mounted upside down, which is why the alti appears on my right hand. All in all I'm pretty happy with myself on this one and was shocked at the video quality, considering how much I paid for the cam. What was your first malfunction like? I have never had one and to be honest this is what scares me the most. I question how I will perform.. will it be the right choice, will i make the choice fast enough... ETC I have had the same training as anyone and know the procedures, but how did YOU act on your first one? Panic? Complete calm? Anyone else had these thoughts or feelings? Some stuff there I agree with and some I don't.. The reason we cannot have white histroy month is because most 'American History' was made by white people. So in reality white history is being taught through most of the year. One thing I do not get though is that blacks / african americans .. whatever.. want equal rights and to be treated like everyone else yet they keep segregating themselves and drawing attention to their race. I may be doing my first night jump this weekend (Fingers Crossed) Are these jumps really as scary as what I've heard? Is the door monster likely to return in full force? Will it be a lot like jumping for the first time? If 1 train leaves from boston bound for sydney and another leaves from sydney australia bound for boston, they are both traveling 137.4 mph where will they meet? I'm no parent but don't most view their children as little angels who could not possibly do anything wrong? Maybe that is only soccer moms, but still you get the idea. More so .. what is with this leash business. Everyone knows you can give the kid a Hefty sack and tell them to make a mask.. 2 things will happen.. the kid will be a lot less hyper and probably get pretty quiet too. History states that parachutes have been around for quite a while, but is there any record of when the first free fall skydive for sport purposes was done? it seems in all of my skydiving dreams my canopy opens >JUST in time for me to land safely. what's up with that??? - That about sums up most of mine.
