  1. for sure it looks fucking great! Chuck Pics!! with close ups on the leading edge material. Curious to see if it is the same as the sample I saw
  2. Don't make me come up there. Actually I only wrote this post as I noticed the year is starting fill up with some very nice CReW events for me and I have yet to commit to a single WS weekend. I'm trying to get some balance, Preferably west coast style. And if I came out there I would just spend the entire dirt dive eyeballing the settings on your rebel and not my usual tomfoolery.
  3. With all of the wonderfull wingsuit events planned this season like flock-n-dock Florida, italy, Germany, Russia, almost as wonderfull Texas. Don't you think its time the west coast get something on the books for wingsuit? Just an Idea I'm throwing out.
  4. Yes canopy pilot, sustained drift my bad.
  5. Out on the west and east coast there are a great many flight schools that cater to overseas students. Due to the cost of getting rated through commercial-double I- ATP in their homelands can be very cost prohibitive. On the west coast we get enough students that still haven't captured the english language or more importantly some of the meanings during pattern annoucement. This is strictly the fault of their CFIs for releasing them for solo flight. You would be amazed at some radio calls by rote that don't pertain to anything they are actually doing in the pattern. And the lack of understanding of what the ten other guys in the pattern are doing. I have actually heard several of the ten other guys yell back over the radio at such backaroos if it happens enough. It usually at least gets the attention of the FBO who's plane they are courting disaster in.
  6. I kinda work for them..... I fly a biplane with their logo painted all over it................ .................Not!
  7. I have never until this day snorted coffee out my nose. Thanks!!!!!!
  8. True, but at "my" airport, I do have to watch out for the other guys I work with performing aerobatics over the runway... 20 years ago at an uncontrolled sport airpark in Europe, I remember a lot of people getting hard up for some airtime in questionable weather. Static line jumpers, acrobatic aircraft, early generation ultralights all in a crowded space with low minimums. No swoopers-just rounds.
  9. That's crazy, Glen! Who woulda known? I still wouldn't do it. It surprised me. I requested their help for night video and much to my disbelief I had two flashes popping off around me during the jump, very surreal.
  10. I thought pieing was for 100 jumps not 1000 jumps. Around here they get you a slam a gram from 300 pound nakkid strippers, that should be easy to find in Florida. He will be begging for eggs after that. BTW nobody around here has 1000 jumps in descipline. They have much, much more,,,,,,or many many less.
  11. I think Mike's newest thing is carne asada burritos after discovereing them for the first time less than a year ago. Pie him with some fajitas!
  12. I have some guesses like setting it to "No Flash" so the flash doesn't pop up in flight. I jumped at night with a couple of guys that used their rebels intergrated flash at freefly speeds. I know what the techs a Canon would say about that but........ Truthfully I tape mine down during day jumps. I may secure it in the open position if I decide to use it at night.
  13. the point I was trying to make; ain't nobody required to talk to nobody. See and be seen. Hey same rules as canopy pilots, see and be seen. I don't care if someone wants to do a split S around me on final as long as they see me and I see them.
  14. I have flown at uncontrolled all over this nation. Its the incorrect and misspronounced that is hard to deal with.
  15. When was the last time you flew into Corona? In a lot of uncontrolled airports with high foreign student density who think a misspronounced and incorrect pattern anouncement equates to permission from a non existant controller, you got to look out for more than a high speed split- S! Sometimes an equal speed merge from someone who isn't even looking for other traffic is very much more dangerous.
  16. Now Chuck unless you have become a PF instructor you can not use PF suits for training --- you of all people should know that Are you kidding? Chuck jumped ship on BM way before most of the people on the west coast did. He is so in the closet about PFIing. Chuck just send the money and the application form into unclecharlie make it official. We wouldn't want you to be one of those unregistered instructors the PFIs have been talking about.
  17. 22R, Neither the 6 or anything newer will get that kind of lifespan. The stroked out injected versions they put into trucks until 94 will live long and make more power. But toyota learned that they dont have to make them that good after that.
  18. 88 Toyota pickup. 486,000 miles. Gonna push it out of the skyvan when it reaches a million. All work done by myself. Its on its third set of brake rotors. Pads are free lifetime replacements. Second alternator $100. Second starter ( $250) after rebuilding the first one three times for the cost of copper contacts ( a few dollars). Second radiator $100. Rebuilt engine at 380k, $900 Rebuilt tranny at 450k, $300 New upholstery, dash and carpet at engine change for less than $1000. Stripping the body for paint right now should cost less than $600 when done. And yes the stereo is worth more than the whole truck.
  19. Edit: and the answer is my daughter. Don't sell yourself short, you have very hot feet I saw them on the tv. I,,,,,, I have a thing for feet.
  20. Maybe they thought that the colombian was born with his head on backwards and they were just being polite.
  21. PPS: Jean is prononced Zshon, which definitely sounds gay. No wonder he doesn't mind "mud bug". Zshon is cajun. Watch how you use gay when you talk to a cajun, cuz you gots a purty mouff boy.
  22. What kind of backerboard do I use? Plywood? Do I measure it right to the edge of the cabinets or over the front? I want to use bull-nose tiles on all the edges... For ceramic they install wood slats directly to the cabinet tops. They are several inches wide and leave gaps of just under an inch between them. This is covered by water proof paper and a stiff inch think sand/concrete mix is applied over that. It fits the entire cabinet top surface and has metal edging that holds the pour flush with the edge of the cabinets. The ceramic tiles are applied over this. This is the production version. You may be able to use a few layers of plywood covered by a few layers of cement board instead of the grout bed method. But I would check with the home improvement centers in your area. They can give you the list of materials and "how to" videos and tips on the best method of construction for your area.
  23. I have also had success using encounter by brickform. You can check them at brickform.com. This company deals mostly with stamped and colored concrete like driveways and patios but have started to get into countertop products.
  24. Corian is a resin that is thicker than formica. Ten years ago it was the shit. It was a sought after alternative to marble in solid surface tops. It was in high demand that out stripped production. The truth is that it is an easy to mill "plastic" that most wood workers could do easily. But its a protective industry so unless you are in you can't get in. This has caused the " betamax" syndrome to take effect on its popularity .BTW it looks like plastic. When I say concrete thats what it is really. A sack mix that you mix and pour into a mold with reinforcement and ten days later get out and polish and install. You can pour it in place too if you want a different look. But either way its not side walk. Its colored its polished if you want. But its random and you can shape it and mold it like you can't do with any solid surface material. And now there are many more choices in a solid counter surface than just granite/ corian. There is every quarryable stone imaginable that can be "slabbed" and milled/ sealed and installed. You can get quartz/resin or recycled glass and resin slabs to get made into solid surface tops now. Most of these matrix require the same tools that the marble and granite trade use in fabrication, diamonds, while corian can be worked with standard carbide tools. Concrete does not need tools for shaping. The mold does this or it is done by hand in the case of pour in place. Tools are only for polishing if desired and they will be the same as required for stone work, diamonds.
