  1. I'm always surprised how many people do not seem to understand this basic reality. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  2. +1 Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  3. Saw this one coming. Surprised it didn't come out sooner. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  4. There sure is. There hasn't been nearly as much opportunity to research two mommies or daddies, though. In your opinion, would it be more or less favorable for a child to grow up in foster care vs. being raised by a same-sex couple? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  5. What annoys me is "towards". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  6. I miss your posts; there haven't been as many lately. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  7. Me, too. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  8. Maybe I'm naive, but I look at negotiations in this regard as cold-call sales. You listen, you get creative and you sell them. It's up to the seller (negotiator) representing the company (country) to decide where we're willing to give or not. If done right--contrary to popular belief--the sellee does most of the talking and ultimately buys what the seller is selling believing it was sellee's idea and sellee got the better deal. Sure. Problems in the business relationship sometimes arise. Something happens and the client is offended because--afterall they thought they had the upper-hand--suddenly it feels like they're not being paid proper respect or attention. You save the client much in the same way you sold them initially. That's why the commission is residual. Sometimes you loose the client. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  9. Agree--particularly with the part I bolded.
  10. I just realized only the introduction of the feature article is available via the link I provided. I was going to attach the rest of the story, but this took a lot less effort: Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  11. This feature article brought me to tears. I so admire women like Laurie Kampfer.
  12. It's a pet peeve of mine, if you quote a previous responder, the subject should indicate whom you've quoted. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  13. Sure. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  14. It would be cool to be a fishperson. I used to pretend I was a mermaid--swimming underwater with my legs tightly together, beating the water as hard as I could from the knee down--when I was a little girl. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  15. Yea. No matter what the subject, Bill always says I have too many favorites. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  16. I searched previous posts you've made about a trimaran and only this one came up. Two pages of "boat", mostly about yours. I don't get it. Is it your opinion humans in such a situation would have no regard for the environment and somehow you'd end up living on a boat? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  17. Why? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  18. It could get really interesting if more people posted their thoughts. The idea of immortality is not limited to age-defiance. Also, I really didn't want to ask any specific question because... I almost left the second paragraph out entirely; the response is far more interesting that way. I like seeing where people go on their own. It was a bad attempt to get more of a response than this thread has received thus far. But, since you did answer: Interesting...I think it would depend on what her motivation is. 19. How then, in your opinion, might maintaining a biological age of between 20 & 25 affect what one values in life and how one spends their time? Take a 25-year-old of today for example--she might already be on her way up the corporate ladder, saving her money and striving to be a big success. Would she perhaps, given the opportunity to live biologically 25 indefinitely, be in such a hurry? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  20. Mine as well. Mostly because I love a clever psychological thriller and contemplative books in that category are few and far between. Either that or I just have a bad habit of picking the sucky ones. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  21. True, however, w/r/t remaining "biologically 18 forever" a youthful appearance would be neither transitory nor temporary. Regarding attractiveness, I would also argue it would change with time, knowledge & experience. I can't imagine anyone so vain thriving in a world filled with immortal people. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  22. I would argue it comes with time, knowledge and experience, rather than with age itself. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
  23. Will we never learn a scientific way via biological computer to accurately predict thoughts? Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
