I was told the other day that the old contraceptive sponge had an 80% failure rate, at first I nearly had a heart attack, I had an old girlfriend who used them regularly and if it had failed I'd be roped to her forever, then I had another revelation, quite a few of you on DZ.com are probably "sponge babies", and that Sponge Bob was probably created by the guy that invented the contraceptive sponge as a way to thumb his nose at society for his failure.

All of the SD AZ Otters have -34's and 4 bladed props and they are quieter inside than the lower powered Otters with 3 bladed props. The 4 bladed propellors are an STC for most aircraft, expensive and somewhat heavier, but most operators will tell you worth it.

The guys that pickup off dz landers are gonna have to charge Ben mileage now. Are there any plans to fix the main landing area???

Our own little Arlo is a calendar girl.

PD126R, 1.8+ at 105 degrees f, 1500' field elevation (not density altitude). Practiced the flare up high a few times then took a wrap and had a nice somewhat fast standup landing. I do not recommend this wing loading except for highly experienced canopy pilots and even then it may not (landing) be survivable if you were unconsious.

Yeah, they are getting 4 new ones so at least 1 will be running (usually) for Wingnut. :)

We now have 3, count em 3 Skyvans!! They just got in last night from Indonesia, with 2 more on the way soon. They are earmarked for military business the dz has just recently picked up, but after they are converted I'm sure we'll be jumping from them occasionally.

Why did you start skydiving/ BASE jumping?

After flying inside of airplanes for years I wanted to see what they look like on the outside......flying away from me......and I was hooked. Fast forward 13 years and almost 5000 jumps, I check DZ.com everyday and jump almost daily except for non training days. Nuts. -
I shot video for the river fest about three years ago, what a fun dz, nice folks and great vibes. If I remember right there was a Queenair from that dz that was traded for the weekend for a A90 Kingair for the 4 way meet and it (Queenair) had a problem with the gear and had to land gearup at the other dz, you guys are tough on airplanes!! I think that Otter was at Nationals, bad dream paint job but a nice aiplane. Good luck and have fun.

I think that was the short nosed Otter. I had no problems with the high step on that one or the other Otter. They should have done a better job of checking the heights though, level with the lower edge of the door, alll in all good aircraft.

I used to have a really nice pair of REI winter cycling gloves, I say used to as I loaned them to prephekt on one of his skydiving sabbaticals here and the little rat lost one in freefall. They worked really well, the dexterity and hear retention were excellent. They are cheaper than the Pearl Izumi gloves and seem to work better in freefall for warmth but the Pearl's have better grip feel.

I think I like the helmet that protects my head from people that buy a product just because it looks good. Buy the one that works not the one thats "Best Looking".

I'm trying to get that 'PERFECT' 4 way exit shot....... The one we all dream about, leaving the acft all grips in frame and as if all five of us are connected, not even the slightest bobble. sliding around on block twelve so the judges won't "see" an infraction and then stopping right where the tail stops. So still that you can see your teammates eyes looking into the center. Yeah, I want that.
