Now I'm confused, when is a Sabre 150 to a Stilleto 135 150 to 150?
-
I myself would not make that switch yet, I had over 1000 jumps before downsizing from a Sabre 150 to a Stiletto 135, I'm glad I waited as long as I did as they are vastly different in flight characteristics (glide, flare, turning). I also had over 500 jumps on the Sabre. Don't let your friend downsize too soon as is the tendency in this sport, learn to fly the canopy he has should be his first priority downsizing after he has it really nailed.

what?

Like Harry said contact Dan BC and then schedule yourself off work for the next skills camp at the end of April, you will not regret it. www.airspeed.org click on skills camps or email dan@airspeed.org

Never, I repeat NEVER, fly without your rig in a bag of some kind. Never tell the agent or anyone else that you are a skydiver. Never tell security anything more than the bare minimum answer to any queries. Never tell stupid skydiving jokes to wuffos, they will immediately go to security and then not only yourself but others (me) will have to pay for your stupidity. Be polite, nonchalant, and you will blend in and you will have a great time when you get to where you are going. This little rant is not aimed at you, however every time I have been hassled at the airport it is because some brain donor before me caused some kind of problem. Have a great trip. OOPS, I meant to reply to Mayhem's post. sorry

The twin beech pilot ( one of em ) was Gary "Otis Elevator" Olson. He later flew the westwind at Molalla for skydive oregon, then John "Mad Dog" Holmes came over to fly it after Ted went to jail. John previously flew for Ted. Two really nice people, John is retired from teaching high school math and Gary owns a aircraft maintenance shop in McMinville Or.

Airspeed 8 has Steve Nowak as camera and Jeremy Peters will shoot for Vertical and Steve Curtis has joined the team to shoot for Dragon after AZ Freeflight disbanded.

Tim and Ted were barely there. I spent the entire meet in the judges booth and only saw them when Rose Wagner brought in her fried chicken. They are both pretty busy these days and this is a "fun" meet (it was pointed out that every 4 way team that won this meet since '95 went on to win at the world meet) and doesn't count toward NSL etc.

The QC on that helmet was the worst I have ever seen, hardware store hinges, screws holding the plate on were not countersunk, parts of the latch looked like they were made with a dull file and visegrips, the screws holding the latch to the helmet were too close to the edges and would eventually break the shell the latch comes loose and off goes all your expensive toys. However that helmet made Bonehead composites alot of money, if you ordered one the average delivery time was almost 6 months, if you ordered a Flat Top Pro from BH, you usually get it within the promised delivery time, order a helmet from Skysystems you will be lucky to get it in the same year. It's really too bad it was light, and small and seemed to be a pretty nice product but it seems that apathy hastened it's demise.

It's really hard to persuade the pilot to wait and fly one load after dark, especially after he flew all day. None of our guys live very close to the dz.

No, the old, fat, drunk, ex jumper walking to the shower house in a towel should be illegal. He does not add to the view, the tall, young, cute, German girl walking from the shower house, now she does much FOR the view, and the towel she's wearing, almost too small........uhhhh, I'll be back, in a minute....................
-
Lets see........mesquite tree, to the left of that the trail over to the dz and then just to left of that, 3, count em 3, Otters, then just over our heads is big giant blue skies. Temps in the 80's today, people to jump with everywhere I look. Yeah, not too bad.

no one can be "just as weird as Brad".
-
I like to be really bad, in a really good way.
-
Yeah, go see that webpage (if I got the address right) get your own for 550K ! some assembly required. The D models were just the V12 Jumo engined versions.

Ending today 48 for the boogie, 45 paying, 3 for swoop club, 1,073 from jan 1 to dec 31, 4007 total. Nice to meet as many of you as I could, due to my schedule and commitments I could'nt meet everyone and hope to see you all somewhere down the line, take care all. Gordo

It was all work, no fun, you know how it is. (Did you buy that?) Gordo

It was pretty cool from the inside too, I rolled up the door on the 3 and wore my camera, could not see much of the ground because the wing is in the way but the two Otters in left trail came out good and got the sensation of speed being so low to the ground. After we passed the DZ to the south the Otter closest to the 3 did a really nice pull up and chandelle to the left, it was worth pushing people out out of the plane for that ride.

The most enjoyable work ever, well next to scroggin'. Happy New Year. Gordo

Difficult, well if you call barely making rent and almost keeping food on the table with some reliability difficult, yes I would say it is. However if having probably the coolest job on the planet next to maybe an astronaut's I would then say no it is not difficult. On the other hand getting my big fat pilotchute into that little bitty BOC pocket is difficult, when I'm tired, after a long day, of ten jumps, with my really great teammates. I uh pretty much love this sport. Happy New Year Max, we might see you over there in Elsinore soon. Gordo

1054 as of today, 4000 total. Most were team jumps, two tandem vids and about three level 8 vids, maybe 25 or 30 bumper suit and freefly jumps. Woulda had six more for the DZ.com loads but......................................

[300 way] Art Bori (Base Red) Injury Update
airgord replied to debonair's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Man, just to show how insulated I was, I found out about Art's injury two days after it happened. I'll send an email. -
It's a deal. Count on your new pal Gordo.
