    I see the reasoning behind it, I do not really agree with all of it. If you get to a world meet and your camera guy (girl) gets hurt, your alternate is not a trained vidiot, you should get to use some other nationality for vid, but if they want to relive the debacle of the camera pool where anybody with a camera can be considered then there will be protests and demands for rejumps (remember nationals before "99 and '00, don't recall the exact year) again. However, if this is just a way for the teams to cut their training costs, then those behind this should be strung up by their pinky toes, I'll supply the wire. (my conspiracy theory)

    Eloy is 10 for tdm, sport is 5 up to 150sf above it is 6 and you must be approved to pack by management. (cartel)

    If you are talking about skills camps at Eloy, then yes, you will learn a lot. You will jump everyday with a different Airspeed coach and with people with like skill level, every jump is debriefed by your coach and they will make suggestions and help you get better. I shoot video for the Airspeed skills camps and I get to watch almost every jump from day 1 and the progress is pretty astounding to me. I'm only slightly biased but I say spend the dough and you will not be sorry. (those airspeed guys and girl are pretty nice people too) If you decide to do it find me at the dz and I'll introduce you around.

    The Sabre head whip, that's nasty! We had a guy out her in AZ who sent his Sabre in for a new lineset and hooked it back up and PACKED it without reattaching the SLIDER, jumped it, said it was a really hard opening and took it to a packer complaining about the opening he had. The packer said no wonder it hit you, where is the slider? This is a guy with several thousand jumps and he was distracted long enough to go through at least two steps where he should have caught on to the fact that the slider was still in the box the canopy came back from PD in! The canopy was not damaged but the jumper said he felt "a little" sore.

    I can't speak for everyone else, but I use an SLR because it is easier to set the camera on auto and let it pick settings on it's own.

    In the off chance a jumper does not drink and owes beer they were required to buy anyway, the rules say "buy" not drink. Each DZ has their own rules for "beer".

    if you are able to walk away without a noticeable limp, able to hide any pain, able to crack a joke, not scare EVERYone watching and do not need to replace the divot you probably can count it as a standup, of sorts. ps if you're not wearing any part of the planet it was probably a standup.

    the airplane "unloads" for that one second during the launch even if the pilot is totally on top of the controls the "G" force lightens and the adrenaline soaked jumper is helped by that into whatever bits stick out, in this case the door stops. eliana found this out on friday, she is now the proud bearer of a nice big hematoma on her left quad. oooooouuuch.
