  1. It's all done before the rig is built. It's a ridiculously expensive option and most people that order it use too much and their rigs look hideous, there is a reason it went out of style years ago, it looked like shit then, it looks like shit now.
  2. The editor at a DZ in Oregon was making 5.00 per video or dvd. That was last years wage not sure if it is the same.
  3. It is for rescuers in case of a crash.
  4. The Porter at Skydive Arizona now lives in Italy, the Skyvan fleet is four with another for spares and one will be sold soon, we'll end up with three plus the spares plane. Otter 204BD is leased to Mile Hi for the summer and everything else will be traveling to boogies leaving us at least one of something to jump out of. Nice hardware TK.
  5. everthing between the first sentence and the last. really too bad as we treated the reporter and her coworker as one of us, we were duped.
  6. those two girls hung around all day and most of the night, I would send them an email to protest. Humorous story though, Omar skydiving "ace", can't wait to call him that.
  7. Don't forget to leave the batteries out for two minutes before reinstalling the new ones. Oh yeah, mind those teeny tiny little springs, they are very important!
  8. I thought tye dye was out when it came back in.
  9. That "twin Beech" is actually a Lockheed Model 12 or 14, the windshield is shaped different and the tailwheel sticks out more on the Beech, also the horzontal stablizer is not flush with the top of the cabin on a Beech. Fenders on the main gear. Smaller brother of the Loadstar.
  10. Looks alot like a C-119 that the US military used to use, Different nose and the tailboom strakes are different, maingear too. French built? Looks like it will be fun but wear good hearing protection.
  11. Don't drag the canopy to you when you "roll" up your lines, walk to your canopy so you don't drag it across whatever scorpions, landmines and other debris that might be in your landing area. Roll the bag over and check your grommet is clear before putting the bag in the container.
  12. Like Amazon says, scotchguard. Your choice, but don't buy a Smart just to save a couple bucks, the PD reserves have a very proven record but it is YOUR choice and the Smart has been tested and proven safe. Nice color choices.
  13. If you never forget them, they never really die.
  14. I work for Rigging Innovations and every rig I have seen go out the door has a ZP pilotchute in it, I myself use both F111 and ZP in my rigs and they are close in jump numbers, the ZP tends to tow for a second more than the F111 but it is smaller (26") than the F111 (30"). I'll ask Sandy @ RI what he thinks, it would be nice to know what the other manufacturers have to say also.
  15. Betsy has a history of wrecking people, usually men, and the the occasional woman. No one knows this outside of the regulars here but she has a "special" room in her home. She says they are skydiving "accidents"...........uh.......said to much. PS. sorry to hear about the Elf, heal fast kid!!!
  16. My back where I compressed L4, especially when I have to run out a downwind landing because some visiting F*&#K could'nt figure out the tetrahedron. However since I broke my back my neck has never felt better, who'da thunk it!
  17. Hey Thomas, can you get me a job there too???
  18. Bye bye Seminole. Seen this photo several times, a pilot hand propped his dead batteried Saratoga and he left it in a medium power condition and it jumped the tiny chocks and killed the Seminole. I thought it was in OZ or NZ.
  19. snivel, is what the pilot does when a sucker hole flies over the dz and all the jumpers wanna get it up. snivel, is what the jumpers do when the sucker hole flies away from the dz. The Eloy snivel, when the packers get a canopy bigger than 150 sf. The Oregon snivel, when the weather is nice and the jumpers go water skiing instead. The DZ owner's snivel, when the tandem rainchecks come back to be redeemed. The cameraflyers snivel, the team you're shooting for gets tired and quits after only eight jumps. The tunnel rats snivel, What's wrong with the motors now?!?!?! (perris)
  20. Lil'Indian minibike, 3 1/2 horses of raging Briggs & Stratton, solid suspension, almost no brakes, endo'd at least 30 times. Those were the days! (1969, 9 years old)
