  1. Thx Chasing, I'm going tomorrow. Anyone seen 28 days yet?
  2. Never saw that on Will and Grace. Someone told me this about 10 years ago. Typical Hollywood BS though to take fact and make something else out of it. Oh yeah, if the pet and street name don't make for a good combo, adjust. Cheers.
  3. I don't think it is enough to have a user name on DZ.com, I think we need porn star names and the way it was described to me is to take the name of your first pet, then the name of the street you grew up on. Viola!! Instant porn star!! (name) Mine is; First pet, Bingo. Name of street, Beaver. Bingo Beaver.
  4. I personally witnessed 4 cypres saves, two of those were friends of mine, they were stupid to get that low and be saved by their AAD's but they are alive now and hopefully a little smarter. I now now have some jump stories with happy endings. It seems to me 1300 bucks is pretty cheap to keep your ourselves and our friends just a little bit safer. Cheers
  5. all of the footage shot still exists (48+ hrs) if there is enough interest they could do a directors cut type edition, but I think you and I would be the only ones in line for it. Most people don't care how it happened behind the scenes, just what happened. Oh well.
  6. Forget the pilots what about the poor saps who had to change out the oxygen tanks after every jump? None of us made it on the video!! Seriously though, most of the people that helped make it happen did not make the video, thats just editing, also it was made for the jumpers and not necessarily the public at large. Sorry Chris, you and I are just nobodies. ps I have seen the video and I enjoyed it, opinions, opinions................
  7. If you had met Ted and new nothing about him you would think that he is a nice friendly guy, and that is how he had students coming to him all through his troubles with the various authorities. My post was to try to show our friends what a wolf in sheep's clothing might look like, so maybe others like him will be exposed before they would hurt our sport, or our friends. I'm sure that you did not mean to make a statement about my character on your post.
  8. Thanks Ryan. So Ray will have a Viper on his back for the Arizona Challenge I'd guess.
  9. Didn't Ray buy the Fliteline assets and rerelease the Reflex?
  10. The straw that broke the camels back was when he had an 82 year old man go in on a static line jump, the worst part was that the day before The Yamhill county sheriff's office had confiscated every parachute system in the building whether it it was DZ owned or not, Ted then goes to Bob Dause in Cline Falls (then) and borrowed gear to operate his school. This is after he was ordered by Yamhill county, the FAA, USPA, and I believe the state of Oregon to cease all operations. The rig that he put on the 82 y/o student was not set up for static line, so he put 100# break cord on the pilot chute and used it for a static line (throw out pilot chute). As the student left the step he didn't arch, ended up on his back and as the pilot chute went under his arm he trapped it and went in on his back with no attempt pull any handles. This after national attention on 20/20 as Ted tried to convince us all that he trains 50,000 students a year and that at that level "accidents will happen" and that he thought he was well within the safety "numbers". Ted is a really nice guy, he just put money in front of safety.
  11. Used, as in previously owned by someone else but not not jumped? I would not have a problem either way, if it has been jumped get the canopy inspected by your rigger, don't be too worried about a couple of low speed deployments. Just my opinion.
  12. My flight instructor used to tell me "high to low, look out below" not really pertinent to the post but I just felt like throwing it out. Cheers.
  13. I thought this might have been about midget porn video, good taste, or bad taste? Sorry.
  14. Glad to hear you got your canopy back, however if you do press charges what happens the next time a canopy ends up on this clowns property? If he was stupid enough to try to keep it knowing that he was prosecuted for the same thing, what would keep him from tossing it into the burn barrel, toss a little gas and a match, canopy, what canopy? He'll be stinging from the courts and he'll want some payback. What I'm trying get at is every DZ needs more friends and NO enemies. I think that hanging F+++ks like this guy by his stones would be too good for him but the other neighbors would be sure to hear only this guys side of the story. Good luck.
  15. As an asides to BB's report, Christopher Irwin sprained his ankle on the distance event as he stomped the bulls eye, as he was laying slightly off to the left of the course Nathan came in and stomped on the target and broke a bone in his foot and chipped another bone. Christopher went and iced, taped, braced, and then went back up to finish the meet gutting out a 5th place, unfortunately Nathan will be out for a little while. This was the first time I had seen one of these meets and I am really impressed with the distance some of these guys can milk out of their canopies, some were 40' outside of the course, kicked almost all of the pylons and still blew out the other side by at least another 40', on the Main landing area at Eloy that is "coast to coast" and then some.
  16. I will make sure Will is up there, Take care Dan, tell everyone I say hello.
  17. www.summitracing.com Ford should have a special parts operation similar to Mopar performance, see if the local Ford dealer has a racing catalog.
  18. Dustin, how could you do this to us!!!!!! Don't you like us? Have'nt we been nice enough to you? Thanks to you Skymama will probably need a double corneal transplant...me to for that matter. I'll never be able to look at cottage cheese ever again. Horrible way to start the weekend.
  19. It's always the quiet ones............Gordo
  20. Hey Dan, when are you gonna go to SDO and get it wet? Oh wait, you probably did get it wet after your first jump on it.....swoop, flare, stop, canopy lands in front of you then......orgasmo!!!!!!!! You should probably clean that up before you show anyone.
  21. I also have an Odyssey, it is the most comfortable rig I've ever jumped. Never had any problems in switching over from my Vector III, the BOC is slightly higher but that would be because of the smaller canopies. Give yours some time, practice on the ground, jump it, love it. Have fun.
  22. I don't think there is too much animosity between skydivers and base jumpers as most of the base guys are jumpers also, it has been my experience that more DZO's and DZM's (not ALL, only some) seem to take exception to base jumping. I repeat, not ALL. I probably will not make a base jump but I will not rule it out either.
  23. Red Hot Chili Peppers, "My Friends" or "Aeroplane". If I need to bring up my arousal level I play anything from Limp Bizkit because Fred is angry.
