How can people be this hypocritically stupid?
Belgian_Draft replied to Lucky...'s topic in Speakers Corner
Not a joke, but not as severe as Iran/Contra. You wanna make us believe that none of the arms were used for murder? Back to the drawing board; go design me a trailer. Staw man extreme. You keep asking me to design you a trailer, but you never give me details so I can come up with a quote. Wassa matta...can't figure it out by yourself? Hmmmm....musta been another "lucky" that posted in a thread here not more than a few days ago that he wasn't working much these days. You never have told me what you find demeaning about building trailers. Care explain? One of my best dogs was a Brittany that the owner had invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in only to find out the dog just was not going to make it as a show dog. He was offered to me for free under the condition I had him neutered. Though physically he was an ideal speciman of the breed, mentally he never matured. He remained, for 13 years, dumber than a bag of hammers. But he was sooooo gentle with kids and as loyal as any dog I ever had. Keep checking with breeders, rescues, handlers, trainers, etc. Let it be known what you are looking for and what you are willing to take. As in the case with my Brittany, it is often the imperfections that make the dog special to us. Best of luck in your search!

Not sure what the article is you linked to 'cuz my confuser locked up all three times I tried to use the link. Yeah, the Blackbird was/is one hell of an aircraft. I had the pleasure many years ago of living next door to one of the aero engineers who helped design and build the bird. Lots of stories from that guy! Just about a year ago I listened to Col. Richard H. Graham talk about his years of flying the Blackbird. The last part of his presentation was a Q&A session where all aspects of the program were fair game. Most of that time he spent debunking many myths perpetuated in the media such as the story of how it leaks so bad that it has to refuel after takeoff. According to the Col., the plane did leak some fuel but it was a minimal amount and nothing that would require refueling. The reason it refueled after takeoff was because it usually took off with much less than a full fuel load to increase takeoff and climb performance. ...which never should have taken place in the first place because it was orchestrated by the Republican effort to destroy him personally for completely political reasons. As I just said. As you just read. What part "fuck that, and the horse, too" do you pretend to not understand? It is nice to know you think sexual harassment is so petty. ""fuck that, and the horse, too" If you want to insult me, then do it. But don't pussy out and hide behind a vaguely veiled PA. Then what alternative do you propose? Didn't say we needed an alternative. Only said that government oversight is not necessarily the best or the most effective. That is not the same as saying it can't be. Then what do you think might conceivably be better or more effective? First thing that comes to mind would be a committee made up of miners who actually work in the mines and not behind desks. The committee would have equal power to any government board. And where would the power of that committee come from? They could be backed by the UMW. As it is now the union is run by people who don't have to go into those mines. How are they going to oversee a non-union mine? the company in the OP would be unaffected. It would be difficult at best. The workers at the non-union mines would have to decide whether to stay non-union and look out after themselves and hope the UMW would support them on safety issues, or they could unionize and have the backing of the entire UMW. I'm afraid that, until the people who are in the mines and whose lives are at risk have the power to halt mine operations, little or nothing will improve. The people who do have the power all have monetary losses at stake by shutting down a mine. I dislike ‘anyone’ that harms someone unnecessarily. You are defending the practice of incarcerating innocent people in order to wage a war that is built on false pretences, the murder of innocent people. That is immoral. You could say nothing or agree that innocent people should not be kept, but instead you either want to disagree with me, or you want to defend these actions. Once again you spout dribble in response to a post without reading it first. Nowhere did I defend Cheney, Bush, and/or Rumsfeld. Right, you do so indirectly, then sit in the middle and say, "what, me?" Go build a trailer you pseudo acft engineer. At least I'm working. He was under investigation for perjury in connection with the sexual harassement lawsuit brought against him by Paula Jones. You know that. But you, as always, will spin it so it was the evil Republicans fault he lied under oath. Republicans will spin it as though the Paula Jones lawsuit, the Lewinsky inquiry, etc., etc. were not part of an all-out Republican effort to destroy Clinton personally because they hated his politics. And Gingrich was the founding father of the modern-day trend of Washington politics being nothing more than a blood sport about the personal destruction of the other guy, everything else be damned. So fuck what the Republicans tried to do to Clinton, fuck the sanctimonious Republican assholes who don't like that he refused (Yeah! Even under oath!) to candidly speak about his sex life which was nobody else's fucking business outside of his own family, and fuck Gingrich, and the horse he rode in on. "Oh tell us why Clinton was called in and questioned about Lewinsky" was the question. Not "what was the underlying reason" or "what was the political reasoning". Though i disagree with the way the whole situation was handled, Clinton brought the whole thing upon himself when he lied in his deposition. The President is not above the law (at least that is what the Dems say about the crap Bush pulled). Both sides of the aisle can be blamed for that entire fiasco. The Repubs for failing to place reasonable limits on the investigation, and the Dems for downplaying the whole thing as if it were nothing. The man was, after all, caught red-handed lying under oath. That, my friend, is nothing petty. I posted "Government oversight is not necessarily a sure way to make the mines safer, i.e. China." How could I possibly have made it any clearer that government oversight isn't always the best answer? Maybe it was the "i.e. China" part. Perhaps if I had used the more technically correct "e.g. China" you would have understood. But I doubt it. You are pretty damned loyal to those that like to murder and torture innocent civilians, who are you trying to kid? You will come up for an excuse for any atrocity, no matter how inhumane, and you defy logic and try to accuse those that point them out a traitors and idiots. This stoyy is hardly rinsed out, when it is all over the news, you seem to think it is 'old hat' and not woth discussion. Just sweep it under the carpet? You ought to be ashamed of yourself, you are indirectly responsable for the deaths and torture of innocent human beings and you act like it ws just a movie that you can review then forget about. Maybe we should shove a towel in your mouth and run water over it for a few hours, simulating your drowning, then maybe you might wake up and tell the truth? Then we can put you in court, and get you to admit to things you did not do... oh no thats right, you'll have right is court to say how we treated you, then you might tell everyone and expose our adgenda. Nah thats a bad idea, we'll just lock you up and throw away the key, we still might use some torture, just for fun though! Instead of beating a dead horse, why don't you preach about how suicide bombers in Iraq kill dozens of people indiscriminately, including children and small dogs. Don't you hate to be remninded of your party's abhorrent deeds? Maybe that explains your party's fall from grace, minimized to tapping under a shitter stall for cock. I am loyal to no political party, sorry to dissappoint you. So you'll just have to find another way to frame you PA's. I guess you did forget why Clinton was called to testify. How quickly we forget the misdeeds of our idols. You're conservative which means either Republican or Libertarian in denial of either/both. Who says I'm conservative? You have no idea what my political beliefs are, you only have assumptions that, like verything else you proclaim to know, are wrong. Tell union laborers to stop demanding wages they dont' deserve for jobs that a high school dropout can do and maybe companies wouldn't be so deadset against the idea. UMW is one of the few unions I feel that earn every penny of what they get. The work is hard, the conditions can be miserable even when at their best, and the risks are different than another other job. Most jobs in the mines today require either a good deal of technical knowledge or years of on the job training. Just because some may be high school dropouts doesn't mean they aren't highly skilled in a job most people could not handle day after day. If you're going to start that shit, then Oliver North committed a felony, too. You really want to do this? Besides, I thought Clinton was cleared (in a political trial - a low standard of proof), just like Reagan in Iran-Contra, etc. However, Libby was convicted in a crminal court, a much higher standard. Err, as a result of that political process Clinton would have had to go back to the trial with Paula Jones, but instead paid her off to settle the matter. That seems about on par with the dismissal of the North conviction. I think we can all assume fairly that North carried out the illegal policy goals of the Reagan Administration. I'm less sure that he should be the one to pay for that. Reagan, Poindexter, others may have been more appropriate. We'll never know how much (or if) Clinton acted criminally in harassing Paula Jones. The trial never happened. He lied to get it dismissed on the first run, and then settled to avoid it happening. All we know is he fooled around with Monica, lied to the world about it, got punished by the bar for it. I have always wondered, as i am sure many have, about just how much different Clintons time in office would have been had he just told the truth in his Paula Jones deposition. Worse case: He would be found guilty of sexual harrassment and ordered to pay Paula a settlement figure, and would have made a public acknowledgment and apology. Best case: Judge throws out the lawsuit. Oh, what a tangled web we weave.... I think there's meds you can take for that. I think he's already on meds...lots of 'em. That's the only reasonable explanation for him going off on a tangent over the simple comment I made about China's mine safety.
