Your writer, and you, assume that only higher taxes will cause the business owner to invest. Sorry, but that just isn't the case. Regardless of level of taxation a business owner is always looking to lower his tax burden however he can. He is just as likely to invest in new equipment and pay Christmas bonuses at 5% tax rate as he is at 50% tax rate. By the logic proposed by your story, no business owner is happy until he has zero income. The 16th: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." Point out to me where that says my wages belong to the government. Please Mr. Law Expert, point it out. Yes, all of us here know what you socialists want. You want nothing less than every person to have nothing more nor nothing less than any other person. I have never collected unemployment because I have been willing to work any job that was available and never thought of myself as being above any task. You obviously feel you are too good to work menial labor. Nope, wrong again Francis. Like I said, you were just guessing. Simple. People...and governments...usually do better when they have more money coming in. It really is that simple. Now your true colors are shining through. So you think your, and my, income belongs to the government just because they say it does? Nice to know you are so willing to give up so readily what you have worked for. Ten years since you collected unemployment compensation? I never have. Elected republicans? Not me, bud. Must have been you. Can't find data? Of course not. You are just guessing and theorizing. When i was struggling through engineering college I sudenly started getting these anonymous contributions towrd my tuition. It was always the same, $1000 each semester. All I was told was that it was from an alumni who would do this for one student at a time and all they asked was that the student did the same once they graduated and started working. Keeping my end of the bargain, I have given roughly $50,000 total to 8 different students over the last 25 years. If each of them do the same then my investment will pay forward over $400,000. Move on to the next "generation" of recipients and it grows to almost $4,000,000. I don't know who started it, but they sure started something good. I use them all the time. GPS, Mapquest, etc. are great but nothing compares to a nice big roadmap spread out on the table or hood of a car to give you the big picture. Byt the time they shrink Texas down to fit on a Droid, you really can't see much detail between the major cities. When you enlarge to get the details, you lose the big picture. That is where roadmaps and an atlas will shine through. Go start your own company. Make a payroll. It'll give you some insight that you clearly don't have. If you're not making money hand over fist, just barely making it as you infer, it won't affect you, so your claim makes no sense. You obviously have never run your own successful business. let me clue you in on a few things. -You work your ass off. -You work your ass off as many hours each day as is needed to get the job done. No exceptions. -You work your ass off seven days a week. -You work your ass off 52 weeks a year. -After all of that working your ass off, guess what? The fucking government comes and tries to tax away what is left of your ass. Give it a shot sometime. Maybe then you won't be so anxious to raise taxes on successful people. And if you make 250k with your family, these tax increases won't affect you, that's the issue, 250K AGI is really, really, good money, make < and the expired tax increase won't affect you; care to address the issue or just more RW bravado? And what of the money OVER 250k? Do you think people work less hard for that money? Care to address the questions i posed to you in this thread or are you just going to keep spewing socialist gutter filler? Thier taxes will start to increase. Until they hit 7 digits the progressive tax scale won't affectthem that much. I guess those great, flag-waving real Americans would want to reinvest in America anyway, right? I mean after all, America made them under her template of profit, so I'm sure givving back, creating their business to be bigger won't be a problem. If you cry about 250k AGI then boo-fuckking-hoo to you RW greed platform. Nothing like a very well-off person crying over greed. Taxes are at a 40-year low and you're crying about high taxes; the business owners of the 1950's, 60's would have several things to say to you. If I make 250K in a year it is MY 250k...not yours and sure as hell not the governments. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't mind paying my FAIR share as long as it is spent responsibly. Now...care to address my questions? Or are you going to run because you have no data or proof to back up your claims? Need a reminder? Ok, here it is... take a look at post #42 of this thread. U.N. delegates walk out during Iranian president's speech
Belgian_Draft replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
"Some segments within the US government orchestrated the attack," "The attacks were aimed at reversing "the declining American economy and its scripts on the Middle East in order to save the Zionist regime. The majority of the American people, as well as most nations and politicians around the world, agree with this view."" "The U.S. was involved in the attacks or allowed them to happen as an excuse to go to war in Afghanistan and Iraq." "It was said that some 3,000 people were killed on September 11th, for which we are all very saddened," he said. "Yet, up until now in Afghanistan and Iraq, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, millions wounded and displaced, and the conflict is still going on and expanding." Our resident Truther has already made claims that were identical, almost word for word, to those by Ahmadinejad. Two peas in a pod. -

Would you listen to this guy. Wants the government to take all the rich man's money and distribute it among the monetarily challenged and HE calls someone else a socialist. Too freakin' funny! I just want the rich to reinvest a lot of their profits. As fro me a socialist, nothing compared to CanuckintheUSA; he gets all the socialist goodies, yet sounds like one of you neo-cons. How many times do you have to be told that I am not a neo-con? Well? How many? You don't seem to understand things very well and have to be told over and over again. Say what you want, it is plain as day that you want the government to take the majority of a financially endowed person's income and don't care a bit about investment. No, I want taxes raised to force reinvestment, but it doesn't make your argument juicy, so you must project that I want the gov to take all their money; I would rather they reinvest a lot of it to create jobs, growth, etc. But just keep your fantasy going to pretend you have an argument for me wanting high taxes. Or, if you had an argument, you could show me a major federal tax cut that has actually helped the economy and not hurt it. You keep posting this theory you have recently become aware of that higher taxes force investment which, in turn, helps the economy. Tell us, Mr. Expert-of-All, what is the difference in investment of funds between high and low taxes? That is, where do the funds get put? If taxes are low do people suddenly start stuffing cash into their mattress? When taxes are high why would a person invest in a relatively high risk venture such as manufacturing when they can just as easily, and more safely, invest in real estate which does nothing to help the economy? You keep spouting of how the economy has always been better during periods of higher taxes. Why don't you show us some proof to back your claim by showing how much money was invested and in what during those times? Because, if you can't, you are just guessing. I'm curious--what plan for joining the rich in this day and age would start by shutting off one's computer? True, one might close this particular browser window (eg SC) and open something else more focused on entrepreneurship. But almost all plans for success these days, even in non-technical fields, are going to require that someone be digitally literate and connected. You are absolutely correct. :) The general idea I was attempting to get across was that few will ever become rich from posting here in SC. I want to buy a 22 rimfire rifle, please advise
Belgian_Draft replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
Several have mentioned that a semi-auto is not a good first firearm. I disagree. I feel it is no better or worse than any other action type. Let's address some of the arguments made against the semi-auto: "It wastes ammo" True, but only if the gun loads and fires itself. A semi-auto is only a semi-auto if more than one cartridge is loaded. "The shooter doesn not learn basic marksmanship" Why not? The same fundamentals apply regardless of action. While learning to shoot the student can be given one cartridge at a time. He/she removes the clip, inserts said cartridge into clip, reinserts clip into firearm and cycles the action to chamber. "They cost more" If you only purchase one rifle that could very well be true. But it is rare that a person is content with a single shot as their only .22 rifle, hence a second rifle would need to be purchased once the student was skilled and proven responsible and was ready to 'move up'. And, finally, in this thread, "A semi-auto is not a good choice for a first firearm". The OP stated that the young man already has a 12 gauge and a 20 gauge shotgun. He is also 15 years old. I think it can be stated with confidence that a 15 year old who has proven themselves responsible enough to carry a 12 gauge shotgun is more than ready to accept the responsibility of a semi-auto .22. Buying a .22 for your son is a very simple 3-step process. Step 1: Go to store that sells guns. Step 2: Tell them you wish to purchase a Ruger 10/22. Step 3: Pay for the Ruger 1/22. Easy as pie and you can't go wrong. -
Diff is I'm not a major media outlet with a huge staff. As well, I didn't quote the onion, I initially though they were a RW rag. But I guess I can take that knowing I'm not so naive that I thought impeachment was a conviction as did Belgian. Diff is i acknowledged my error within a couple posts on the same thread while you kept on denying any error until....well, you STILL think ONN is legit! Exclusive - Bill Clinton Extended Interview Pt. 1

Can't remember what he wrote in the email? Sent file. Duh. Lots of people call the President names every day. Much of the time those names can't be repeated in polite company. Never heard of any of them getting banned from entering the country. Not one. Lots of people get into much worse doo-doo than this kid for threatening the President. I would bet the kid is lying through his teeth. 1100 and any in the 4000 series are pretty hard to screw up. Even for you! We were only talking about aluminum? Really? Where did we agree on that? Where did either of us even mention such a thing? Lighten up, Spanky. You've gotten your panties all in a wad because somebody disagreed with you and you can't stand it. all I said is that 6061 is the typical alloy, has the best weldability I can't think of one primary structure airframe part that is welded See, with welding aluminum, there is the risk of changing hardening characteristics*** Depends on how it is welded. Some alloys welded with some methods exhibit very little change in their characteristics. Why bother debating you? Regardless of whether you are right or wrong, the other guy is always a fascist neo-con. Of course, it doesn't matter if you have no idea what either of those is, it is just a way for you to attack another poster. Thanks you for a reply worth commenting on, you seem quite rare these days as others cannot control thier egos and thier desire for a weak stab and an attempt to dilute the converstaion into one that they can undersatnd. There is no wonder much of the skydiving community despises these forums. I am off to a bunch of funerals now and do not have the time to absorb, contemplate and reply to your questions, I should be back around the weekend. I will take the time to read and understand what it is you are asking and make a relpy. This is something many of the others are not quite capabe of as it is quite clear from their replies that they have not taken the time to study this enough. The television has taught them everything. [whisper mode] pssst..Rhys! We are mocking you. You do know what that means don't you? If not then use Jakees three step plan. Expert in aircraft sheetmetal? I think not. You don't even know which skin alloys can be welded and which can't or how to weld the ones that can. A true expert would know these things. As for law....you don't know squat yet you talk a good game. Get a real law degree then maybe your opinion will carry some weight but until then it's just more hot air. Politics and economics is even worse for you than law. As a socialist your views are 180 degrees from objective. Hell, you don't even know what a neo-con is.
