  1. I find it uproariously funny that you would even TRY to compare Bible Spice and Caroline. She is far more intelligent, far more educated, far more accomplished and far more cosmopolitan and well traveled than your poster child for the religious wrong will EVER even pretend to be. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA She is also a Kennedy which, in my mind as well as many others, makes her among the bottom 10% of prospctive appointees. 2. I imagine it's like a park full of born again's all trying to out-christian each other. The thought of that is enough to give me the heebee jeebees. I think you just described Hell. 3. While his work was very important, I would argue that Edward Jenner saved many more lives when he began work on vaccines by using cowpox to vaccinate people against smallpox. This led directly to the devolpment of many more vaccines over the years. 4. I was going to type a response, but since I have already posted a response in another thread that would fit here just fine I'm going to have to say, "SEARCH!" 5. When I try, I get asked over and over to post it again (my suggestions on gun laws being the obvious example from this very thread). Once per thread, is what I meant. Expecting people to find some gun law suggestion you made many months ago out of thousands of messages is unreasonable. Perhaps you should write it down in a file somewhere, and then you can cut-and-paste it when it comes up again. Or you could save the link to that suggested law mesage, and post that. But telling people over and over again to "search for it" is a waste of everyone's time, and makes you look bad. As I said before, if you really had a good suggestion that would save lives, you shouldn't be hiding it from everyone - you should be posting it at every opportunity. But since you choose to hide your idea instead, perhaps that says something about your true beliefs about its efficacy. It is likely he had some ideas, but has since realized they wouldn't work. Or maybe he has no idea at all. 6. That's just the best known and most obvious example. Others include radar, sonar, navigation aids, aerodynamics, engine technology, ballistics, fuel technology, electronics, metallurgy, codebreaking... Those who are able to do these things are wasted as infantrymen. So you would have an infantry that was not able to understand or even operate radar, sonar, navigation aids, fuel management systems, or codebreaking equipment? Not able to understand or use basic engineering concepts? Sounds like a giant step backward and a good way to get a lot of men killed. Do you bother to read threads, or are you another one who just kneejerks and then hits "Post"? Yes, I read the posts. In this entire thread there is only the small group of posts that mention the subject I addressed. I interpreted your remarks to mean that you feel anyone who is above average intelligence should not be in the infantry, that their talents would be wasted. If that is not the intent of your remark then maybe you need to do a better job of making yourself clear so there is no doubt as to your meaning. I'm not aware of the infantry division that is also an active R&D program. That's not their mission. The military does have some research outfits, but they rely more on private companies, universities, and research organizations. This is a far more effective approach to take. The military can focus on its core competency - training for an engaging in war making. It is not training scholars or budding businessmen in place of grad school or real world experience. I underlined and put in bold the statement I was responding to. He made no mention of any R&D, only that "Those who are able to do these things are wasted as infantrymen". That's what he wrote, must be what he meant. 9. I answered it already - you are just too lazy or imcompetent to find it. On the other hand, the "more murder laws" was not brought up by me at all. I'm simply asking those who support the statement what exactly they mean by it. Oh really?? Please enlighten us as to where you answered my request. Or you can wiggle some more. This is so much fun!
  10. We will just have to agree to disagree on that. No where did Amazon act or say anything to deserve that comment. Her insinuation that I would support such behavior deserved the reply I gave her. 14. Perhaps the same part which you don't understand. Here are some recent quotes from you using that same expression:"My HDTV shows the same channels as it always did, regardless of the sticker price this week in Best Buy." "This was never about union responsibility, it is and always was about who is responsible for managing a corporation." "This is about WHO is responsible for managing a corporation, NOT about whether unions always make smart decisions." "It's always the same argument as well, what about the really important information that we need really quickly." "It's always good when experiment confirms theory" "Of course, there's always this risk." Before you throw stones at someone for using the word "always", you should first have your own house in order. Or maybe instead of creating stupid time-wasting arguments nitpicking over single words like this, you could instead recognize that many people, including yourself, commonly use that word in a figurative sense, rather than a literal one. I believe I can justify my claims about my own TV channels, content of threads on DZ.COM, the desirability of experiments agreeing with theory, etc. On the other hand, the claim made in THIS thread has not been validated at all. Just because you can use the "Search" function doesn't mean YOUR use of it makes any sense. Now, how about describing the "more murder laws" in that same post? You gun nuts have carefully avoided that topic despite repeated requests. Why should JohnRich answer your request for murder laws when you won't even answer my request for what gun control laws you would have? Keep wiggling, Kallend. Just keep wiggling. It's so very entertaining. 15. I am among those who anxiously await Bush leaving the White House and ending 16 years of self absorbed idiots sitting in the Oval Office. (Am I repeating myself here?) So, you see, I am not a loyal follower of Bush in any way, so save your self-rightous "I served so i am better than ya'll" BS for someone else. Dismissed. 16. In case you haven't noticed, it seems from the last few elections that active partcipation in a combat zone is not the way to get into the White House. The last President who actually fought in a war was Bush 1. Bush 2 avoided by being in th NG, and Clinton just flat out dodged any service at all. As far as I know, Obama was never in the military either. 17. To the Religious hypocrites that support the far right it sure is...I guess what you dont get should be prohibited for everyone else Actions speak louder than all of your words to the contrary. it is surprising to see someone, who claims to take pride in having served their country, completely dimiss a sitting president perjuring himself. Other than that I have nothing else to say. It is evident that you prefer hypocritical slander. 18. False. It's rare for you to make absolute statements, ones you can't wiggle out of, but you do here. I repeat, had there been a democratic process instead of an archaic one, Gore would have won: George W. Bush 50,456,002 47.87% Al Gore 50,999,897 48.38% Only if you assume that the candidates would have campaigned in exactly the same manner under a truly democratic system as they did under our electoral college system, an assumption that would be wrong. 19. If you are refering to the crime for which Bill clinton was impeached, the actual crime was for lying to a grand jury. The last I checked, perjury was a pretty serious crime. Do you have any evidence that Bush was a chicken? 20. It is unrealistic and ridiculous for you to expect everyone to read all 30,000, or even 1000, of your posts to learn what your position is on a given subject. BTW, it is your job to perform the duties that your position at your college require. I am pretty sure those duties don't include hundreds of hours of posting on a skydiving forum. So any argument you may put up about not doing something because it isn't your job is also ridiculous. You do realize the time you spent arguing about this is probably much more than if you had just answered my question? Ok, let me simplify this for you, save you lots of time. Kallend spends far more time replying about what he did not say than about the actual substance. So when he's caught in a bind, he steers the thread to a silly conversation about what he said/didn't say/meant/didn't mean. Everyone's time here is recreational, and no one 'owes' you or anyone else anything at all. He's entitled to play his games, and you're entitled to join or ignore them. You really don't want to waste your's reading his past. If it's not in the current thread, ignore it. If you cite from elsewhere, you'll have to debate with him what his words actually meant. Yeah, I'm starting to realize that. But it is still fun to see how much work he will do to avoid giving in and actually answer a simple question! 21. When doing research, as you well know, it is always best to get the information from as close to the source as possible and to get the most up to date information possible. Why should I dig through hundreds of posts of yours trying to find a tidbit of information when I can ask you for that information? Why would I search for information that may not reflect your latest opinion when I can ask you right here? 22. I will agree that obviously the other states had something to due with it....... but, since the final out come was 271- 266. I think it is fair to look at that state of florida results as very questionable. Funny how their system became all screwed up in 2000 with the Bush boys on the loose. No, you can say that about every state where the results were essentially a dead heat. Florida has been notoriously inept at running a clean election of late, but much of the problem exists everywhere, but is only exposed in a tight election. Though the SCOTUS rubs many the wrong way, it didn't change the result. No recount under any method would have given Gore the win. . A democratic method that eliminates the obsolete Electoral College and uses the expressed will of the people in the country as a whole would have given Gore the win. Yes, but that is not how our system works. We have an electoral college, any they chose Bush. Can't you read? By the way, why are you so afraid to reveal your identity? Were you previously banned and back in another guise? If you are accusing me of being illiterate, then you must also look in a mirror. When I placed the words "Sore loser #4" in my post they are nowhere near where a sigline would be. Pay attention. And, since you must know, I do not reveal my identity as a favor to my girlfriend, who was stalked and threatened by a person on an internet forum that she participated in. 23. Quite the contrary. We have come from spiritual darkness into the Light of Truth, the sin barrier between God and man has been removed, we can now have a personal, eternal relationship with God. What else could you want? Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money.
