  1. Quite right. When writing my post I was thinking back to when I served as a township trustee. We had about 40 miles of roads, mostly gravel, to care for and the only kind of bridge we had to worry about was an occasional culvert. I really miss being a trustee. $10.00/day for any day we worked more than 2 hours, long hours in the winter plowing roads, grading roads and cleaning ditches in the summer. NOT! No matter what we did, how hard we worked, there was always somebody pissed off at us because our decisions didn't work out to their personal advantage. Were Amazon and Kallend living there? Believe it or not, there was a man who was much worse than both of them combined. 2. At a party there was a guy who was making an arse of himself. Eventually he fell asleep on the couch..a good sound sleep. My girlfiend at the time and her best friend went to work on him with their makeup kits. When they were done he looked like Tammy Faye Baker. We thought he would find out when he looked in a mirror. Well, he did. But that wasn't until he had left my place, stopped at a convenience store, picked up some stuff at a Wal-Mart, and then visited his brother where he finally discovered his new look. Sometimes things work out better than planned!

  4. Ask yourself this.. where are the salt deposits at.. and how much does it cost to ship it to the far end of the country.. from where those vast paleozoic deposits exist. Rest assured.. its not cheap to ship millions of tons of the stuff out here. Where did I say it was cheap to transport long distances? www.wsdot.wa.gov/maintenance/pdf/SaltCom_09_09_2008.pdf For most of the country salt is cheap. Some areas, as you pointed out , incur transportation costs that can double or triple the price. 5. I have had three of them. Two were so inaccurate they couldn't hit dirt and the third was so-so, good enough for groundhogs under fifty yards. Check on ammo cost. it's been a while since I bought any and i'm not sure what they are going for now. Accuracy and ammo aside, they were a blast to shoot. I'd buy another without hesitation. If you want something to shoot a lot to get good at shooting, best bet is a .22 rimfire. My preference has always been Ruger 10/22. Reasonably priced, accurate, tough as nails, and Ruger service is top notch, though I doubt you would ever need it. 6. iniquitous!...mine was not a PA. Wasn't taken as one. Ok, where were we...oh yeah. Jabberwocky! HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.
  7. The worst instance of environmental damage done by salt (that I have witnessed) was after a salt truck tipped over and dumped it's entire load in the ditch. Most was cleaned up, and the only residual effect to the area was a spot of dead grass and weeds the next spring. By midsummer there was no sign anything happened. Here's a link to a report on the environmental concerns of salt used to keep roadways clear. www.saltsense.co.uk/deicing-environ01.htm HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used as a kind of divining rod to locate the most expensive parts adjacent the object we are trying to hit.

  9. Salt has several advantages. It is cheap, easily obtainable, environmentally friendly, easy to apply, melts ice (above app.20F) and gives extra traction, easy to store, and comes in handy when making homemade ice cream. Downside is that it corrodes. Years ago this was abig problem for automobiles, but the manufacturers have done a temendous job in corrosion prevention and my 2003 Ford with 160,0000 miles has no body rust at all and very little elsewhere. Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS34803+29-Dec-2008+PRN20081229 Remember all the strident cries from the gun-control folks about how allowing citizens to carry concealed firearms would endanger the lives of police officers on the streets? Gee, I guess that's not happening after all. To bad this cop wasn't one of em. http://www.abc15.com/content/news/phoenixmetro/story/Phoenix-officer-forbids-neighbor-to-get-cat-PD/uSDXo0vALEiuKVsvSvFUfA.cspx Why on earth would you ever wish a police officer to be killed? That is pretty freakin' sick. It was a cat in a tree. They come down when they want to come down. Even the Humane Society said the cat was in no danger. It was sarcasm you .... I won't go there. BUT. I'd rather see a human die than an animal anyday. Less I'm going to eat it. Human beings SUCK. AND I HATE COPS. GET MY DRIFT? No, i don't get your drift. 11. I have no loyalty to any political party, i prefer rum and tequila (but not mixed together!), I am agnostic, love a meaningless names-are-optional romp in the hay, I think Bush is a moron, and don't wish to subjugate, opress, or infringe upon anyone's rights. But I see your point. Since I don't adopt her views on everything then I MUST be all that you say she thinks I am. She is right about one thing. I enjoy a glass of Kool-Aid once in a while. 12. Well, let's see... While I was on my two week "vacation" I was informed by the mods what constitutes a PA and what doesn't. I was also informed that well over 90% of what you post is only intended to piss off other posters. With that in mind any attempt at any kind of PA would only be giving what you want, and that ain't gonna happen. And, yes, I am cautious of getting a vacation from SC again. So, I'll ask again. Do you have anything intelligent and/or constructive to add to the discussion? Where is any evidence that I am in any way a right-winger as you claim? Or are those thinly veiled PAs? 13. Caldswallop! Attributing sustained self-awareness to a fortuitous set of chemical reactions is to much of a stretch. What makes life special is the spirit of the being that came from the Hand of God. You are totally ignoring the part of us that is not a chemical reaction. ... Codswallop! 14. None. The maggots eat the flesh, birds use the fur for nests, the skin dries up and blows away, and mice eat the bones. So, you see, cats always come down.
  15. I believe I have posted factual and relative infomation as well as my opinion. If you have any evidence that I have not, post it. Otherwise you are just trolling. 18. then I have to assume you meant to comment about that which is in the reply to... And when the HATE level goes thru the roof at the very mention of a Kennedy name.... I usually expect to find Vinny there along with the rest of the far right posters who hate any and every Kennedy as they have been taught to all of their lives.... I repeat the question...What the hell are you talking about??? You are taking off on tangents that are off of tangents that are off of tangents. The posts you are making are just so much gibberish I don't know if anyone can make sense of them. I don't hate Kennedys, I don't idolize SP (or even like her for that matter) or any of the other things you are accusing me of. Maybe all your posters of Bill Clinton are keeping you from seeing the writing on the wall...the writing that says PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO DISAGREE WITH YOU and the writing that says THESE PEOPLE AREN'T ALL RADICAL RIGHT-WINGERS! 19. Sweety, you're the one whining. You whined about my opinion, you whined about what think is my political persuasion, and you whine about Sarah Palin, who wasn't even mentioned by me in my post. I'm starting to get the impression that you aren't here to contribute to any discussion, but rather to troll and see how far you can push people. 21. Gee and here I thought it was the right of all americans to own guns and shoot them( unless you are a criminal or a nutter)..... there is that pesky ole constitution thang out there.... Seems the red koolaid drinkers out there dont deem anyone but themselves endowed with patriotism and rights When yall are listening to the words.. perhaps you might want to listen to all of em. Wow..talk about a strawman! We do have that right. We also have the right to our opinion about who should be a senator, representative, etc. Exercising either right does not mean that person is of any particular political persuasion. If you feel it does, then please explain. 22. Ye shall know them by their words. 23. Of COURSE it does. Most of us here realize that the prejudice of you and your fellow travelers on the fringe right is unbounded in vehement vitriolic hate for any Kennedy. Why would you assume that I am a "traveler on the fringe right"? Just because I don't agree with you on something? Why do you assume these things about anybody? Is everyone who disagrees with you a radical right-wing Christian Crusader? My reasons for any Kennedy being in the bottom 10% have nothing to do with political party.
