An app for an assay? I would hope that you are joking, but fear you are not Yes Bill it was a joke. However, I mentioned up thread that it would be nice to get tests out for antibodies, and apparently they ARE working on an app for that. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/home-fingerprick-blood-test-may-help-detect-your-exposure-coronavirus-n1176086

    Q

I recently heard the term "couch patriot" used to refer to those that are responsibly staying at home.

So we'd all be expected to rush out of our homes to be tested and pack the nearest clinic just so we can have better numbers than Iceland? Don't we have an app for this shit yet?

The thing I think ryoder, kallend and Phil are missing is that even if we could test 328 million people over 3.5 million square miles as quickly as Iceland could test 360,000 over 40k square miles, should we? The purpose for Covid testing is not to have a pissing contest with Iceland as if it were a space race.

Iceland has tested 10% of its population, versus the US has tested 1%. No biggie, just saying. So you expect the U.S to test 328 million people just as fast as Iceland could test 360 thousand? Ya that would be nice.

So that's about 36,000 tests total so far. The U.S has been testing about 20,000+ per day. No biggie, just saying. It's be nice to get those antibody tests out there, especially for people that had even the slightest of symptoms or those that were in places we're they likely could've been exposed. I read something yesterday that tho the tests exist, it'll probably be a couple more weeks or so for tests to be available for those that are just curious to know.
  8. Try to hack it and fly it straight up their ass.
  9. I think it's more like, finally we get to carry stupid guns to the courthouse and wear masks That's the state capital building where a couple thousand people in cars were honking their horns in protest of the Governor's restrictions which apparently are some of the most stringent in the country. "At least 200 people broke the instructions of organizers, getting out of their cars to congregate around the steps of the capitol building, flouting social-distancing guidelines to remain 6-feet apart, and not wearing masks." https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/04/15/835250693/michigan-stay-at-home-order-prompts-honking-traffic-jam-protest

    Q

    There already is a Q-source. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_source
  11. No, we just got her and I'd like to keep her here - and she doesn't need any other distractions right now. The country will just have to do it's best without her. Just saw on the news that that there are about 1000 people in cars honking their horns in protest of Whitmer's restrictions stating that they're too strict. The one guy interviewed was a landscaper that is prohibited from offering service. He said he can go out and buy a bottle of Jim Beam, but can't go to his lake property. Some are upset because they feel their businesses require minimal contact, while others are upset they can't go to their cabins up north or go fishing in their boats. Some want her to be recalled. Sigh. . .

No. As in "No I don't?"

  14. That's demonstrably false. Nah, if people are being irresponsible and in violation of the law, then it should be handled as dictated by law with police discretion. What would be upsetting is if the law dictated that they all be locked down in quarantine and/or documented, denied due process along with medical attention and then left to die as suggested in another thread.
  15. Hi Coreece, You remind me of the child who keeps asking, 'Why?' ad infinitum. Did I strike a nerve?
  16. I hate when that happens. I thought it might be a conspiracy or something. Nice to see that it's not just me. . . .but then again, does it follow that there's no conspiracy here?
  17. Hi Coreece, I did not ask; it was none of my business. You didn't have to ask. You said none of the people were wearing masks. Were any of them your other neighbors?
  18. So where did all these people come from? Were they other neighbors? Did they bring candy too?
  19. Hi Coreece, Did I strike a nerve? No. I hinted at it already - I'm genuinely curious to know if you were really being a good neighbor, or just a nosy one like those you hear about in HOAs. Is giving candy to these people normal behavior for you? Or did you just see a bunch of cars outside and decide to buy a bag of candy to see what was going on?

    covid-19

Just watched it, he makes a lot of good points. Ya he does, but then you hear about all these attacks on Asian Americans and it kind of ruins it for me.
  21. That seems rather deplorable. I mean even if people were going around deliberately wiping infected snot on others with criminal intent, they should still be entitled to due process and medical treatment like any other criminal. There are millions of "stupid people who endanger others" everyday. I hardly think this crisis warrants abandonment of foundational principles.
