  1. Never mind. Just in case you don't remember, I was referring to the post below from late last year during your 100th.
  2. Yes, if that's what you want to talk about, great. I'm not trying to attack Europe or anything like that. I feel for these people, and I'm sure they're doing their best to cope. But ya, obviously density plays a role both globally and locally. Another thread made the point about how culture may play a role in higher death rates. Areas with heavy tourism seem to play a role as well. There's still a chance that the U.S could surpass rates in Europe if we're not careful. Anyway, I don't know, I guess others here rather talk about the raw numbers and attribute them to Trump. I suppose that's ok too, but at least we're talking about it from both perspectives.
  3. And I'll take the honor of gifting your 100th. I knew you'd like that one. Ya, how did that work out for you?
  4. Nope. The comparison of both raw numbers was meaningless. The subsequent posts were about the rate of covid testing and the geographical limitations that would prevent the U.S from testing as quickly as Iceland.
  5. Damn gowlerk, you're already up to 425 circle jerk pionts!
  6. I know right, could you imagine if things really got out of hand. "OMG, Iceland had 360,000 covid deaths! Meh, no biggie, the U.S had 1 Million!
  7. So what? I didn't recommend making a comparison between nations based on a false interpretation of the data. It's what we have, but interpreting it to draw the conclusion you want to draw is DISHONEST. I simply posted the data, it's you and gowlerk that are drawing conclusions based on numbers that you said were meaningless.
  8. Some of us are fortunate to not live in congested cities, have the need to use mass transit public transportation, or having a critical need to go to work during a pandemic I don't know, maybe they're all going to church, hurry lock them in, deny them medical coverage and let them die before they get the rest of us! Meanwhile, nobody says a damn thing about all the horse racing that's still going on. A hundred horses per track, per day with hundreds of more handlers.
  9. In what, unwanted sexual advances? Besides, how did those polls work out last time?
  10. I'm sorry, did you not in another thread just try and compare absolute numbers between the US and Iceland? Not in any kinda of meaningful or relevant way other than to demonstrate why it might be a bit ridiculous to compare Iceland to the U.S with raw numbers. I wasn't trying to be a smart ass when I said "no biggie, just sayin." Furthermore, I wasn't trying to disparage Iceland in any way whatsoever. They're doing their thing, we're doing ours. Can we do better? We better fucking hope so.
  11. You said that rest assured, at least a 1 million Americans are going to die in the next 18 months, but if we just let the virus run wild, it would be 4 million: https://www.dropzone.com/forums/topic/267518-covid-19/?do=findComment&comment=4890335 "rest assured, at least a million Americans are going to die from it in the next 18 months. If it is allowed to just run wild the number will be about 4 times that many."
  12. These are the numbers from the site that YOU recommended. Again, these are the numbers from a site that you recommended. It is intellectually dishonest to use raw numbers when comparing countries of vastly different size and population just to fit your politically hacked narrative. You know this. The intellectual dishonesty is YOURS. Own it.
  13. Nope, just facts. Rates have always been more meaningful in trying to compare and understand problems between various countries. Slowed? Yes, the growth rate in covid cases in the U.S has slowed and is starting to flatten out.
  14. America is just getting started. It's in "hold my beer and watch this" phase. That's a really fucking sick way of looking at it dude, especially since the growth rate has slowed and things are starting to flatten out. It's almost like you're hoping for higher death rates than the rest of the world. You kind of have to tho if the U.S is going to hit your quota of 1 million covid deaths within the next 18 months. Personally, I think this too will go down on your ever growing list of failed prophesies.
  15. Are you just being intellectually dishonest, or do you not understand the concept of rates? Covid Death Rate per 10 Million Belgium - 4774 Spain - 4289 Italy - 3843 France - 2887 UK - 2330 US - 1181 Also, wouldn't it be more meaningful to compare geographical areas that are more similar in square mileage and population as I did in the link below when John couldn't help but to display his intellectual dishonesty as well? https://www.dropzone.com/forums/topic/267518-covid-19/?do=findComment&comment=4894743 Source: https://coronavirus.1point3acres.com/en/world (You can scroll down and sort the list by number of cases per 1M or Death rate per 10M.
  16. Hi Coreece, I would call that a paradox. Your selective quote left out the word "more," as in more private than what gowlerk was talking about. . . .but still, blockchain cryptography does offer increased user security - it's just that it's a bit confusing and people seem afraid of it, so it'll take a little longer to catch on.
  17. How much do you think my Michigan vote is worth vs a California vote? Blockchain document verification. https://www.blockchainexpert.uk/blog/document-verification-using-blockchain Also, with the increasing possibility of fraudulent deep fakes, we'll use this tech for video timestamping and authentication as well. Edit - this of course is assuming we move toward more private digital balloting.
  18. Not enough. there is a need for serious reform Correct. For the most part it seems like a bi-partisan issue so hopefully we don't find a way to make it divisive (which I now realize I kinda did above) and fudge it all up.
  19. Ya, um, Clinton and Biden already apologized for that. What else do you want?
  20. We need a "big things that make you shit yourself" thread. Tho in that environment I'm guessing they'd be more skittish than aggressive, but I wouldn't want to test that theory.
  21. Reminds me of Amazon's snow roses. . . I can't find the picture. It was from about 9-10 years ago. Not sure if attached photos from back then are accessible now with the new format.
  22. You can go to the actual youtube page for the music info. "The description of a video that contains music may include information about the song(s) in the video. YouTube adds this information automatically to some videos when the video has been identified and “claimed” by music rightsholders via YouTube’s rights management tools, including Content ID. These notes usually link to a music video or other official content for each song, to help you discover songs and artists you haven’t heard before." https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7680188 Also, you typically can't monetize when licensing music this way. Also, the music label may request ads to be placed on the video so they they may monetize it.
  23. Even then it still may not be a hate crime. About 20 years ago back in Detroit/Hamtramck, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong "friend." He said something stupid that got a couple guns pulled on us. After they took our money, one of the guys shot the sawed off near my foot and said, "go back to your side, I fuckin' hate white people." Just because he said "I fuckin' hate white people," doesn't necessarily make it a hate crime since he pulled the gun because of what my idiot "friend" said, not necessarily because we were white. Same thing goes for the KKK guy - just because he's in the KKK doesn't automatically make a crime against a black person a hate crime.
  24. Nah, turtle recently posted this in the election humor thread: . . .and if you actually go through that thread you'll see those who got their panties in a knot and can't take a joke. (or for that matter, any criticism of the left whatsoever.) hint: it wasn't Turtle. Personally, I think Turtle's motivation here isn't the result of politics as much as it is an almost 20 year grudge match with several other posters here.
