Thanks for spelling this out. Before I put my rig on, I check #2 myself. If it is right when I check it, it will still be right when I jump. Same with #3. If I'm concerned by rubbing against something, I will ask someone to check #1 and #4, but by being careful on the plane, and checking with my hand, I seldom have that concern, so I usually don't have to worry about #5. Yeah, I'm arrogant. Anybody that doesn't like it, feel free to wring your hands and cry. But what do I know?

What kind of bungee jump was it? I've done some from towers that were no big deal, but the one from a hot air balloon 300' above hard desert ground was scarier than any of my skydives. But what do I know?

How quick does your canopy open? Good on the quick thinking! But what do I know?

Totally agree with those 2 points. My first step is to relax and get under a stable canopy. My only chop came from trying to fix things too quickly. I also use a big forgiving canopy. One more point is that I pull fairly high; usually above 3k. I've used the riser methods as well, but I find using the wings is less strain, and I'm lazy. But what do I know?

I do have line twists too often, sometimes a bunch of them, and wing out of them all the time. Your description is good; the only thing I would add is you can even push with your wing to help get the roll started. But what do I know?

What a bunch of bullshit. I don't care what party the rich belong to, because none of them have the same playing field the majority have to play on. They get their hired hands in Washington to write the tax laws to their advantage, they purchase special tax havens that cost millions to aquire, and many, if not most of them, don't pay nearly enough. They deduct their toys; every meal and vacation is written off as a business expense, and their accountants work full time to try and get them to pay nothing at all. It does seem that the Republicans are their lap dogs, but both sides do it. But what do I know?

I started with a Tony Intro and did over 100 jumps with it before moving up to a Raptor. By that time, I could backfly and do acrobatics with confidence. I could have upsized sooner for sure, but I didn't get bored with it, and feel that the time was well spent. I'm not saying this is the only way to go, by any means, but it worked for me. I'm flying a SM1 now. But what do I know?

Arguing for the sake of arguing ? If I'm a DZO/S&TA and someone is constantly losing altitude awareness, they're not jumping anymore. Period. And that has NOTHING to do with democracy. Yes, I like to argue. I may have not done that if I'd known you were going to move the goalposts after my post... Mr. DZO or S&TA. Being a DZO or S&TA does have nothing to do with democracy; that is a dictatorship. A DZO can mandate AAD's if they like, and an S&TA does have the responsibility to ground those that are unsafe. No argument there. As a regular jumper, HOWEVER, I would not presume to tell somebody they should not jump because they don't have an AAD, or if they liked to pull low. Neither would compromise my safety, IMO, so I would not really care about either scenario. But what do I know?

I agree. Any full time job should pay enough to live on. What a disgrace that people work 40 hours a week and end up not making enough for even bare necessities. And the same people that think that is OK, see nothing wrong with others making a million dollars a day. Excuse me while I go puke. But what do I know?

That's cool. My question was directed at those that don't have an AAD. Is there a backup plan for getting knocked out that does not involve an AAD? Granted that it is a rare occourance, but it does happen. It was said that an AAD sholud never be a backup plan, so what else is there? But what do I know?

Who needs a link? He posted the whole story. To the title of the thread: Yes, that is what the Dems are saying. I think they would rather give the Repubs a little ground to get some bipartisan agreement, but that hasn't worked. The R's have opposed anything and everything, and now have to live with the results of that strategy. Good! when they had the ball, the average American got screwed, so I'm for giving the other team a chance. Instead of saying NO to everything, I think the R's should abstain from voting altogether. But what do I know?
