  1. Or I can go out to the west desert and throw it in a fire. Alrighty all. I'm now in the market for a 1911 .45 in the $500-$800 price range as a carry weapon. Any and all reccommendations would be greatly helpfull. I basically want something accurate as hell, reliable on every shot, and slim concealability. Any of you guys out there who carry/use the 1911 platform on a daily basis input would be very appreciated.
  2. Smartass. I already found it and sent them an email. I even asked If they would take back the shitty ammo I bought from them (cant hurt to ask), but I doubt it. Muff #5048
  3. Yes, being a r/o is a lot of fun. You get to stand around and talk about guns a lot, and a lot of the shooters will let you run a few rounds throught their toys.
  4. As a side note, there was a guy at the range today with a whole host of full auto stuff. I found the MG 42 most interresting. I'm vollunteering to be a range officer out there. They give you keys so you can go out and shoot whenever you like, plus you have more opportunities to check out some of the toys that people with far more $$ than you bring out. Muff #5048
  5. $1.00 per drink. Doesn't matter what the drink is and the bar tender seems to be pretty happy with that ammount as I've never had to wait for another beer. They usually will have my next drink ready and in front of me before I fully finish the last one. A waitress/waiter I usually give about a buck and a half per since they have to keep up with a bunch of different people all over the place. Muff #5048
  6. Upgrades HUAH! So Ive attached a pic of my MK III with a couple upgrades Ive made. From stock (pics on 2nd page of this thread), Cocobola wooden hadgrips with thumb rest and a bushnell holo red dot sight. Anyone want to venture a guess as to how accurate this thing is? Ill tell you my friend decided to have a little competition on the rangs today. The challenge was we each had a golf ball at 25yds. The first to shoot their golfball using the least ammount of ammo was the winner. I hit mine on the first shot then I shot his as he was still cranking rounds at it... I was then accused of cheating. 7. I was wondering what the effect of the softness/weight of the gold would have on the overall performance of the car. Muff #5048

  10. Recession? What recession? So, it seems that this "global recession" has not impacted negatively on everyone. Check this out! It's a Mercedes Benz owned by an Abu Dhabi oil billionaire (naturally). Featuring the newly developed V10 quad turbo with 1,600 horsepower and 2800nm of torque 0-100km/h in less than 2secs, 1/4 mile in 6.89 secs running on biofuel.. That is NOT stainless steel, people, it is WHITE GOLD! I'm sure you'll sleep better tonight, knowing that the exorbitant dollars you're paying for gas these days are at least going to a good cause... 11. Don't count out the Pilot either. It's a little more tapered than the Spectre and I find it turn a little quicker. Also, looking at the classifieds isn't a bad idea, but how much are you looking to spend? Most gear dealers can get you gear for several hundred $$ less than retail (ei. my pilot goes for $1960. My DZO got it for me for about $1450!). Keep your head up and your eyes open. You'll find something. Muff #5048
  12. Some of the other anti-fog treatments help. Cat Crap comes to mind but there are others. Run the heater full blast with the windows open a couple inches (5-10cm for you) to help dry out the inside I use Rain X. Especially on surfaces that don't have wipers. +1 When I have fogging issues I roll the driver window down about 2cm which will still keep the rain from coming in so long as you're moving. Put the climate controll on defroster/floor setting and run the heater full blast. Usually clears the windshield up well. The back glass on the other hand... Muff #5048
  13. This takes me back. I was something-teen and forgot to bring my dl with me. I was pulled over for taking my seatbelt off while pulling into a gas staion (really had to pee). The officer must have seen that I was obviously scared to death and had me sit in the front seat of his cruiser. He then angled his laptop towards me and showed me where my license number was on the screen. He said "you have 3min to memorize this number". He never gave me a ticket for the offence, but now I wear my seatbelt until the vehicle motion has stopped, and I can still tell you that license number to this day even though I've had a different state license for about 4 years now. ETA- He even let me go pee before he started questioning me. Muff #5048
  14. Ok. That link did provide some usefull links to support your position. What I'm wondering is How does one go about finding out about someones medical profile before selling an instrument of potential destruction. Note that I didn't use the term "gun" because many different things can be used to kill someone (take cars for example). I guess what I'm asking now is with the Privacy Act of 1974 what can the guy behind the gun counter do to check the validity of the buyers claim? Also there is a question on the form when you go to buy any firearm that states something like "Do you or have you ever had history of a mental illness?". If I answere any question on that form incorrectly then I am by all rights a FELON. Not saying people can't lie, but it still begs the question how do you know their telling the truth? Muff #5048
  15. You still haven't answered my question. Tighen what "rules" exactly? Can you provide a link of the "rules" that you dont agree with? Cho WAS a "nutter" (still think thats a funny term), but what records do YOU have that tells he was a "nutter" before he aquired his firearms he used to murder a bunch of innocent people? (I dont think I have to ask a college prof to cite his sources). Other than "Straw Purchasing" (which is highly illegal, and gun shops are trained to watch for and report suspissions), I'm very curious to know EXACTLY what loopholes you are reffereing to. Again I want valid, unbiased citing. Muff #5048
  16. Here's the skinny of it: If you just want an Iphone and dont give a shit about speed then get the standard Iphone. Once you get into the 3GS you're talking about faster speed but how much memory are you willing to pay for? I have a 3GS 32Gb Because I have a SHITLOAD of music to put on it as well as my Itouch as well as my Nano (no repeating artist BTW). Ok. Whats cheaper with similar functions? The Solstice is about the closest thing you can buy to an Iphone but without the crazy price tag. You will not have access to Apple apps, You will have to buy a memory card to put media on the phone (pretty pricey). Other than that you can get pretty much the same thing, although I cant attest to the Solstice internet speed as I havent tried it. Bottom line: Spend the bucks to get the Iphone 3GS with the memory you can afford and you will be VERY happy with it. The GPS and apps alone make it worth the money. Muff #5048
  17. I'm going to need legit sources (not blogs) before I can earnestly take on this position. Muff #5048
  18. You still haven't addressed the UNLICENSED but perfectlty legal guns that people already own (myself included). Agreed! Some states require much more than others to obtain this privelage. As far as concealed carry, if you want to discuss this further I would be happy to trade pm's with you on my veiwpoints on the regulation of this subject. The discussion here is about people being able to gain access to ILLEGAL firearms. Its true that there are already so many guns in the US that pretty much anyone can get one if the price is right[, but that doesnt answere the question of "how does one keep guns out of the hands of "nutters". Your opinion. Worth exactly what I paid for it. (told you I would be fair) Muff #5048
  19. And Ill play fair and argue with you as well. Again, this is only an end-game. How does the state go about accomplishing this task? There are MANY firearms in the US that are not registered. How does the state go about tracking all these "hypothetically illegal firearms" down? Muff #5048
  20. That's not a solution. It's an end-game. What idea do you have to complete this solution? What would YOU do to stop these "nutters" (I find this term funny) from getting their hands on ILLEGAL guns? Give a GOOD, VALID position and I'll argue with you on this. If you can't, then you're just blowing the proverbial smoke of your own personal agenda. PS, what is your definition of the term "nutter" (or better yet who on this site coined the phrase? It makes me think of a sandwich.)? Muff #5048
  21. Thank man! It worked a trick. As far as sending it..... You're asking me to GIVE you a virgin that is mine!!!
  22. Update: I just called Ruger and bought my very first mod for my MK III Target. I got myself a set of Cocobola wood grips with thub rest. I handled another Ruger with these grips at the store and fell in love, but I couldn't see paying $500 for a gun with only grips and sight upgrades vs. paying $45 for the grips alone (which is all I want really). Other stuff: I put my Ruger in an eggshell case and I noticed that the foam discolored the metal on the barrel where the foam rested against it. Is there any way to make my gun look uniform again? Muff #5048
  23. Which Ruger Mk III? There are a lot of them. I have a Mk III 22/45, 5". Love it. It's a great target pistol. I love taking people to the range and teaching them to shoot. It's a great newbie gun, fun when I want to go shoot a lot, because the ammo is cheap and it's really accurate. It's heavy when compared to my tupperware guns though. I posted pics of it. It's the MK III .22LR Target model. And I know what you mean about the weight. This little .22 is heavier than my Glock 22 (.40S&W) with a full mag in the Glock. Muff #5048
  24. I LOVE my Berreta 686 Onyx. So much so that I rarely take my other scatterguns out anymore. Hell, I think I'll have it buried with me. You know, I hear you on that I really do. I'm just trying to justify spending awesome AR money on a 2 shot shotgun. I love those guns though because of their beauty all around... Well that and their accuracy. Muff #5048
