  1. Yes, but was it shite weather where you wouldn't have been jumping anyway and did you have fun and a beer or two while you were doing it? I can understand you not wanting to get roped into doing it over and over again, though. If anyone asks again, you can beg off with "Sorry, that was a lot more work than I thought it would be."
  2. So I got to thinking about the different canopy choices, and I went with a..... Cobalt 135. It keeps the w/l at something I can handle AND it doesn't open all funny like the Mamba I was thinking about buying. Why not a Pilot you may ask? Well, I need a canopy before mid Jan and after looking extensively and talking to many folks about it, it looks like this will be my canopy for the next several hundred jumps. Thanks for all the info you guys gave. You experienced guys really dont steer people wrong (even the the guys that have 25 jumps and want to fly a Velo). Thanks again Muff #5048
  3. Now that, sir, is a fantastical idea. Did you expect such awesome sauce responses from some of dropzone's less-finest when you started this thread? I actually didn't. In fact, that's why I replied to it. Muff #5048

  5. Thanks man. It's what I needed to hear/read. Muff #5048
  6. And I'm kind of torn between 2 feelings. It's a retirement slideshow for one of our MSgt's, and it basically is her whole life in the AF with music to sync up the propper feelings to the pics being presented. Where I'm torn is in the fact that Ive invested 17+ hrs of my life making this thing, and I feel I should be compensated. Then on the other hand, Ive just seen this persons entire military life, and after syncing the music to it and watching the final cut, I'm so mooved by the accomplishments of one person (for both herself and our country). I just feel torn. I dont know weather to charge her for all the time Ive invested in this project (to include the use of my editing software/computer usage/time out of my life), or to just be greatfull for all she has done. The inner me is leaning on the latter, but the greedy me is saying "dont do it or else everyone will expect the same thing....for free". I DO NOT envy the guys who have to do this for a job. I really dont even know the purpose of this post other than to ask "should I do this stuff for free or charge for my services" (and I wont for the person I just finished editing). Muff #5048
  7. I'll check with the boss today and see what she sais. Also, Ill have to wrangle up another main before then otherwise it shouldn't be a preoblem. Ive got 3 suits people can demo as well. A V-1, P2, and Ghost. Muff #5048
  8. Pretty scary indeed! Is it just me, or did anybody else watch that waiting for the PC to slam into the camera? Muff #5048
  9. I hear ya, but its still me signing off (for this worthless thread anyways). Muff #5048
  10. Try to find the video, that has been posted here a number of times, showing Raquel Welch packing a round parachute. When you find it, try not to concentrate on her butt and you just might see a sleeve. JerryBaumchen Thanks Jerry. Found the vid. Could you fold one of those canopies into a regular d-bag with a standard pilot chute? Just seems easier. Muff #5048
  11. Still me. And at home drinkin'. where are you? DD Muff #5048
  12. 4 line it pull down the sleeve and close it up. Sparky Mybe I'm showing your age here, but what's a "sleeve" as it relates to skydiving gear? It's a D-bag only longer and with no corners. I dont get it. Why not just fold the canopy and shove it in a d-bag then stow the lines accordingly? Muff #5048

  14. I just returned from my 3rd deployment, 5th overseas 'trip' and I didn't fucking know we got post deployment comp time. It took me going to the ETS Finance brief to learn that... The way I add it up, the army still owes me 4 more weeks of it... I'm not going to hold my breath on it though I think it has to be taken within a certain time after you get back. The really shitty part is (at least for us) you can't leave the local area during that time unless you burn real leave while you're gone. Muff #5048
  15. Dear Lord, I had to negotiate and finagle to get from 2 weeks to 3 weeks per year. Us military types only get 2 weeks per year (at least the AF does anyway). He's been saving for a while, and appears to be sitting on a healthy balance of use-or-lose leave. Yall only get 2 weeks a year? I coulda sworn all of the military got 2.5 days a month... You're right. 2.5x12=30. I must have eaten a big bowl of stupid for lunch or something. Maybe I was thinking post depl R&R. Muff #5048

  17. I sure as hell am. Ill be doing a bit of the beverage cunsumption while editing a slideshow for a retirement this weekend. This should be interresting... Muff #5048
  18. Sell it and get a Vigil II. Then you wont have to worry about "mode changes", or 4 year inspections. Just batteries and a 20 year life expectancy. Better value IMO. YMMV Muff #5048
  19. How much you want to bet she lets her kids play violent video games, where the objective is to kill people with realistic guns and realistic blood spatter. Muff #5048
  20. So this dude just gave up? What if the cypres failed? Muff #5048
  21. I wasn't aware that intelligence was a linear relationship with number of jumps. Ha Ha! I see what you did there. Muff #5048
  22. You, sir, have proven yourself to be an idiot...may I ask what kind of "small penis" pickup you drive...or is there a different vehicle that people with a small brain drive? Jon +1 Matt +2 You really made me laugh on this one. ETA- I drive a Camry... AND Ive got a small dick. Guess I'm totally fucked. Muff #5048
  23. Maybe Twardo. He CLAIM'S to have used birds for ways to get to altitude, but I highly doubt a Pterodactyl counts as a "bird". Muff #5048
