It doesn't state that anywhere in the lease (I just went over it several times. In fact it's sitting in front of me). It's either they need more cash to pay off the new parking lot OR... someone saw me jacking off (the bedroom blinds aren't closed) and complained about it. But humor aside, the blinds they say need replacing have never been touched, and are still in good working order (tried them out after I got the letter). [eta] Maybe you should send me some of those cookies. That would make me pretty happy.

I just recieved a notice on my door today that sais this. "This letter is to notify you that your blinds need to be replaced. Your apartment home had nice new blinds when you moved in. They are now damaged." Then it goes into blah blah how much I have to pay for new ones. Here's what pisses me off. I NEVER fucking touch my blinds...EVER. Furthermore, the complex just did a very expensive (to them) parking lot resufacing. Call me crazy, but I'm guessing that progect cost them a little more than they expected and they're looking for money any way they can get it. My thought is to go into the office and say "I got this letter, and I'm here to tell you why I'm not going to pay for new blinds.". Would this be an acceptable course of action, or would I be better off giving them the $25 to avoid the conflict? I work FUCKING hard for my money and don't just give it away when someone tells me I "have" to. Any thoughts? BTW, my blinds are in the exact same condition they were in when I moved in.... I dont know about anyone else, but in my experience, if you do good things for folks then good things happen to you. My most recent encounter has been someone in need of skydiving gear that I no longer needed that I gave them. Shortly after my friend let me fly his wingsuit (that I fell in love with) and he told me to keep it and pay him for it when I could. This seems to be something that happens more often than not. So just FYI, treat people better than you expect to be treated, help out others in need (because someday it could be you), and above all kindness (if nothing else) leaves you with a good feeling. What is the demand for canopy mfg vs. wingsuit mfg? Owns and "has ordered" are 2 different things. Would you not agree that about 1/3 (ish) skydivers are looking to buy a new wingsuit? Figures look to me as 1/3 of the skydivers are becoming interrested in w/s'ing. Muff #5048

Here's what Ive observed. The wingsuit market, for its consumer base, is about the same size if not a bit bigger than the canopy market is for its consumer base. I mean it takes anywhere from 12-14 weeks to order and recieve a new wingsuit. It takes about 16-18 weeks to order and recieve a new canopy. Muff #5048

I was just calling one of my medic buddies about some titanium he has access to. I wouldn't laugh. I'm in the medical carrear field in the AF (job security+meets a set of fitness standards).
