  1. I wonder what the russians would do if a commercial passenger acft flew over their airspace without their permission. One Jump Wonder
  2. Say what Dude thats three strikes you be gone. Now lets go back and review the other two incidents. Gotta love video Say What
  3. The retail part of the gun industry is no longer booming since demand for their goods has exeeded the supply. Not sure how much of the demand is driven by fear vs greed. After the AWB goes into effect people will still be able to get their's just like after the original AWB. The only problem will be the price. I expect that some of the folks who already "got theirs" before the AWB #2 will be able to sell some of their extra hi cap mags for $100/ea. The rumors of a 500% tax will turn out to be true but it really isn't a gov't tax it's a horders profit. Same thing with black guns and ammo.

    $2 Bills

Good idea. Just put the stamps on all the bills. We haven also used twin otter stamps and little skydivers on the $2. The banks Can order the uncirculated $2 bill frm the fereral reserve any time but most orfers are placed in time for xmas. We place our order at a local bank after turrkey day and specify new sequential uncirculated deuces. The deuces come in bundles of 100 bills = $200. Beware you screw up your oder and you'll end up with twice as many deuces as you want . We order them by the bundle but you can order can anount you like. Some places don't like the deuces because when their counting new money it sticks together (so they they have to count twice, or more), cash registers don't have a $2 slot, and some folks can't count by ones & two's together.
  7. Oh please......from WHO ??? Skydivers ??? Hi T if my memory is correct the complaints were from the "significant others", partners, etc of skydivers that were offended and concerned about their childrens being corrupted by accidental exposure to smut in the "skydiving" magazine. "Back in the day" it was easier for some people to shelter kids from the real world. Maybe thats why Clinton was confused about what sex " is". One Jump Wonder
  8. HI SPORTBETH and Howard Thanks for the pic of Sprtbeth and her "big rig" A rig that big could give a person a sore back. Lucky for the little people the gear has downsized over the years. Me bad this thread is supposed to be about sexist ads not rigs. Time for my nap. Glad to see you nice LADY. One Jump Wonder
  9. Aren't you contradicting yourself here? Little Johnny is too young to learn anything unless spoonfed by his parents, but knew exactly what he was doing and should bare full repsponsibility for his actions under different circumstances. Nope follow the thread. One Jump Wonder
  10. Do you remenber/know what Ks was like in 1970-72,? We lived in KCMO at the time. The airlines and amtrak weren't happy about the state getting in their face about the booze. The issue was covered in the press. We're talking 1970 - 1972. Sorry dont remember the states head lawyer's name but we do remember he was quoted by the press. Some thing like "I don't make the laws I just enforce them. If the state has a problem with my enforcement then the state should change the law." During that same time period in Ks gambling including bingo was against the law and stores had to close on sundays. FWIW The folks in Ks were real nice, no farmer Mcnasty's that I recall
  11. That the way we remember it. But we were a little fuzzy on the ""French" part and since it's now 45 years later I'm not sure if the term is PC. Some folks think the US is the Daddy of skydiving. DZ.com has opened my eyes to the fact that skydiving it truely a international sport. One Jump Wonder
  12. I -highly- doubt it. There simply is no precedent for it. Precedent has nothing to do with it. I suspect a lawyer will take the case and if he loses so be it. The lawyer will still get paid. If he wins fines maybe retro active? FWIW back in the day when Ks was a dry state and they had a nut case for the head lawman. Amtrak and the airlines were prohibted from serving booze while traveling thru and over ks. One Jump Wonder
  13. Go get Bent? Who the indians or the Frenchmen. I suspect the indians will go the legal route and after numerous appeals will get approval from the Big white father to control the airspace over their land. To bad the lawyers on both sides will get paid. R.I.P. One Jump Wonder
  14. But that ends up punishing the child for actions it was not responsible for. It was not the child's fault the father was an incredible asshole that taught him to shoot and gave him access to the gun. Why punish the child? My view is that a child under 12 is not fully aware of all consequences and is too easily manipulated. The child should not be punished for that. It is quite clear that he does need some serious mentla help, but there are other ways to give that then to go through a court proceeding first. Dad will have to live with the tragic results of leaving the gun where the kid could get to it for the rest of his life. IMO he's been punished enough. OTOH the 11 year old Killer needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. He didn't make a mistake he made a concious decision to kill someone. Then was cold hearted enough to go to school after he did the deed. If the courts feel sorry for poor little Johnny who killed his mom in her sleep with the blaast of a shot gun to the back of her head and give the little monster a pat on the head, counseling and then a walk. What kind of a message are we sending to all the other little johnny's that don't like someone. If I'm a 11 yo kid i can shoot, stab, strangle, drown, murder anyone I don't like and get away with it because i'm just a confused misunderstood kid just like johnny
  15. Hi Dan Based on your profile and your statement that the chopper pilot doesn't have his liscense yet. Take it slow, Very slow, You live in skydiving heaven: Florida the land of a DZ every 6o miles with a twin otter, where you can jump 365 days a year. Learn to walk, before you run Of course do whatever floats you boat R.I.P.
  16. Bet they're using the short version of the yellow card though, right? That's really cool. Are coaches donating their jumps, or are they getting paid? Dave We do use the short version so the student will get his free personal Coach for at least 17 jumps. The Student gets the Coach until he receives his "A" License, which may be well after all the requirements, other than jump numbers, are met. Our Coaches have always donated their time. In the past the student paid the Coaches slot, now the DZ picks up the slot. The student's personal Coach is also tasked to contact his Student at least once a week, encourage him to come out, develop a rapport, and make him feel like he is an important part of the skydiving community. The retention rate in skydiving is abysmal. We do not need any more Tandems, what we need is more licensed skydivers. This program is designed to promote the sport through retention. As for the "unprecedented" claim, I do believe that no one as put all the aspects of this program, as described, into play and guaranteed in writing. I do know that there are other DZ's that do offer free coaching, have for many years and I applaud their continuing effort. So, give me a little break for some advertising hype aimed at giving potential students an incentive to get their license. Mike Mullins Attaboy R.i.P.
  17. ""Back in the day" (late 60's) I think the freefall position for sport jumpers was called the "frog". I think the term box position started in the late 70's mid 80's. Sorry but thats the best i can do, I just had my milk & cookies and now it's time for my nap. R.I.P.
  18. QuoteYeah? Well, your "bullshit" is bullshit. -People generally don't just cash out the account as soon as it's direct-deposited; they leave the money in there and use it a bit at a time. Thus, the bank benefits from that the same way my bank benefits from the money I keep in my no-fee checking account: for as long as that money floats in the account, the bank gets the use of that money - interest-free - to make more money. Quote agree except you missed the fee the bank collects from the retailers everytime someone uses their card for a debit. Some states negotiated a poor deal with the banks. Directt deposit should have been the only way to administer the program One Jump Wonder
  19. Hi BB Whats a Skyride? A new name for a money makeing lawyer welfare plan R.I.P.
  20. 200 an hour cash. Charge customers extra for answering phone calls from SO's. Or you could be supplying free phone sex
  21. USPA could partner with Red Bull or other corporate sponsor and rent them the USPA name for a significant amount of cash. How much is the Red Bull United states parachute association worth? Or the Red Bull skydiving museum? R.I.P
  22. Hi Bill I'm reading lots of doom and gloom about the safety record/practices at the non USPA DZ's. Can you back up what your saying with staticical facts?. Without naming specific DZ's or incidents how many US fatalities in the last year occured at non GMDZ's? R.I.P.
  23. John Now that we have our 10 yr suppy. Just between us the next shortage is going to be Toilet Paper. A shortage of T.P. will cause civil unrest. Trust me I'm not shitting you R.I.P.
