  1. I think it was dne by either the germans or russians during WW2. exit from a low and slow aircraft into a some covered field. I think There was a problem if the snow coverd field had tree stumps or large rocks that couldn't be seen befor exit. Sounds like a russian thing One Jump Wonder
  2. Zing wheres your faith USPA wouldn't do that. Of course now that the cats out of the bag a sign will be posted outside the meeting room that all recording devices will have to be left outside before members are allowed to enter.
  3. as long as they stop calling it "indoor skydiving" talk about trying to make a nondangerous activity sound crazy and exciting. Crazy and exciting sells Who would pay $$$ for aerodynamic square dancing? (ASD) Or Brag at the PTA meeting about their kids new snob hobby Aerodynamic Square Dancing
  4. Thanks Jan Love your can do attitude Thats why we voted for you as a write in on the USPA ballet for BOD. BTW I think I first heard about you and mullins running as write in canidates for the BOD back in the day at that adult only skydiving websight. Damn thing about new technology, where would we be without Al Gore You go girl set the bar higher for the nay sayers Is this the first time anyone at USPA has volunteered to provide this service via the internet
  5. How old id the debt? How large? We've read about some business folks buying old debts for pennies on the $1. Some of the loans are so old they aren't even legally collectable. Warning I'm not a lawyer have you tried google there should be some news stories about this type of business.
  6. Anyone every see Jack Smile? Any funny stories? What did he publish yearly in parachutist
  7. How long did he stay in office and who replaced him?
  8. Good point. I wonder if the kids start off young enough by the time the kids get old enough to jump how much money will mom and dad will have shelled out for tunnel time. I'd rather put the $$$ away for the kids college education or to bankroll their pro gambling career R.I.P. The parents that can afford to send their kids to the tunnel regularly most likely have plenty of money to send them to college. Good point The sport will continue to evolve and I can see a time when parachutes, packing and airplanes, airports were just used back in the day. The tunels can solve a lot of problems that skydiving is facing today. I wonder what tittle will be used to decribe The sport of turning points & FS in tunnels. Nothing wrong with it, time marchs on. 9. I have been wondering when someone would point out this ultra admirable volley of common sense. The voice of reason... Not trying to argue or pick on anyone but...... You might want to reread the post ***"I start my opening sequence at 3500. 5 seconds or so of extra freefall time is not worth reducing the window of opportunity if a problem arises. This is just our limits, we don't expect others to follow our logic. My wife has had 2 total malfunctions, and was in the saddle under reserve by 1500'...plenty of time to set up to land in a safe area....thats why we dont push it lower. If we want more freefall time, we jump again." Having a total at 3500' and sitting in the saddle on a reserve at 1500' more than one time is not the voice of reason it's the voice of denial. 17. Funding??? Hell - I'll buy him the jump ticket. Put me in for half. Bozo is that half of the $2,000,000 jeb needs to build a landing ramp. One Jump Wonder
  18. Faster opening canopy = More FF time. A faster opening doesn't mean it has be a slammer Of course ask your instructor for further clarification. The opinion expressed is my own.
  19. Did a goodle search One site charges $129/yr to act as a agent for service of process (fwding service when legal documents served). Wonder if national skydiving booking companies or any mail order business are required to use a service like this?
  20. If you only have 14 jumps, you haven't had much exposure to jumpers yet, but inviting strangers to stay at our homes is much more the rule than the exception. Every time I've posted on here that I was going somewhere, I've had offers of places to stay, generally from people I've never met. Every year for the local rigging course, we let someone crash at our house for free since we're right up the street from the loft... so far, 2 people that I've never talked to before they walked through the door stayed with us for more than a week. Several others have stayed here for other reasons and shorter times too. Hell, I even drove more than 2 hours each way to pick up a sewing machine for a rigger, just because he needed someone local to the ebay auction to pick it up and I was one of the closest he found on here. I never met him before he came to pick up the machine from my house several weeks later. We're a fairly open and generally giving bunch. You'll see that in time
