If there is a priority issue can you make reservations or do you just sort of hang out until the slaves (staff) need to take a break. You still swooping? One Jump Wonder

I'm tired of hearing complaints about USPA

Hi DSE I think Zipple has some good points. As far as the new executive directorThe gut was in charge of the the very succesful USPA GMDZO program So he gets a pass to the head f the line based on what the peter principal? Af far as the cost of living in the DC metroplex the only move the new director is going to have to make is from one desk to another. Different position SOS except more $$$. What me worry -

How come none of you old farts didn't get any video of your first jumps? For some reason everyones first page of their log book looks almost the same Jump#1 S/L? C-180? 28'doubleL? Signed off by a low jump # Don't forget "If you don't have video it never happened" -
I haven't found a watch yet that I bothered to change the battery. The days of getting a watch fixed (for us poor folks) are long gone, no workee too bad so sad go by a new one This new techie stuff (cell phones, I pods, VCR's digital camera's, Mario) is so confusing for us old farts that don't have kids or grandkids. Some needs to start a rent a kid center. One Jump Wonder

In spite of what some people say its a good idea to read and keep the directions. Especially if we live old enough to forget what the the directions said.

I'm not a lawyer or insurance agent but I think the USPA policy (if they pay) is only going to cover your liability up to the policy limit. What ever that is If the damages exceed the amount that USPA insurance pays the balance may be your responsiabilty unless you don't own anything or the DZO volunteers to pay it. Think homeowners insurance with a umbrella policy but talk to your insurance agent first, or do whatever floats your boat -
I think we abide by the rules on US soilSome folks(Gov't Lawyers) think its ok to break the rules outside our country as long as soldiers don't do the rule bending. Spooks contractors or allies no problem Fairchild FWIW we had a chance to runaround fairchild in the winter and play their E&E, & POW stuff. But it was back in the day when the Nam was going on. I declined the chance to freeze my butt off and evade & survive in the PNW just to get my ticket puched and went to jungle survival school in panama instead Nam, Jungle, panama, jungle, get it. Surely 40 yr's later theres a real desert survival school someplace since our troops are doing there thing where it's hot and sandy or a school where the troops are learning survival skill at high altitudes in rocky terrain, Don't tell me I don't have a need to know

If the DZO is having to kick in a $1 and the jumpers are kicking in a $1/jump. I wonder if this "contract clause didn't exist if the DZO could reduce his rates by $2/jump. Whats to say the extra $1/jump is coming out of his pocket.

Hi V-B Don't sweat the "pep talk" your boss gave you on your way out the door. IMO the dude was out of line and his lip service was for his benifit not yours. You know who you aare and what you got. Use it to work for you. We had a close friend everytime they had to start a new job the fell up (better job) not down. Your X boss is stuck in his job your not

Some churchs have recently been sued a lot of $$$$ not for what they did. But for what they didn't do. Fire a pervert child molestor priest? Hell no we can transfer him to another chucrh to increase his victim pool. I'll side with the lawyers opinion until the judge and jury make a decision

***I flew to San Francisco and was heard at a full board meeting. Everyone else there, DZO's included, did exactly the same thing. You can do exactly the same thing.*** QuoteHi Bill Your point is valid as long as everyone lives in cali and has the same amount of resorces as your family does. The are lots of other oprions for USPA members to have their concerns heard besides taking off from work jumping on a jet renting a car hotel room to attend a BS Mtg. Attending mtgs are great for people who are getting paid have nothing to do but look busy and give the impression that their accomplishing something. This is a new age we've got more cost effective resources available to us to voice our concerns on a national level. It's called the internet. Expecting a RD to communicate our concerns to the BOD can be a exercise in futility, We need to communicate directly with the BOD with suspense dates and a paper trail. Sorry I can't help you right now I have a important meeting to attend Have a Great day -

Hi Nick Is this the exclusion for USPA member liability still valid ? Did USPA ever raise the policy limits?, I'm guessing it used to be something like $20-$50K . Barely enough back in the day to pay for damage to some DZ property. Like a old cessna 180. ***USPA third-party liability insurance Third-party liability insurance comes with membership. All USPA individual members, regular or temporary, have coverage for property damage and bodily injury liability insurance. The third-party liability insurance does not cover medical benefits to the member. This insurance is valid for skydives made in accordance with USPA's Basic Safety Requirements and the Federal Aviation Regulations. Most drop zones assure that jumpers have this type of insurance by requiring current USPA membership to jump there. All claims must be brought in the U.S. or Canada. To report a claim, call (866) 585-4590. R.I.P. -

USPA Liability insurance Anyone see a copy of the policy and know whats covered or excluded? What are the policy limits? IMO the liabilty insurance could be a trojan horse or worse a trojan rubber. Agreed. That is a service to the general skydiving population. USPA should only be there to back the general skydiving population. Why does AOPA only represent individual aircraft owners and pilots? They need to have a group FBO program or something like that! ;-) I'll bet AOPA understands the conflict of intererst trap.... One Jump Wonder -

Anyone ever see a copy of the USPA liability insurance policy? What are the exclusions? Does not cover damage done to other USPA members property? Remember N.O. "Thats not storm damage it's flood damage to bad we can't pay" One Jump Wonder -
I guess the tip off would be if the cleaning persons cart in the hallway doesn't have a supply of clean/dirty glasses on it guess what We couls start a grass roots effort to clean out this problem by taking the hotel glasses with us every day, and tell your friends to do likewise. FWIW you don't want to see a resturants kitchen

The Wave of Mortgage Defaults is Not such a Bad Thing
Krip replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
Newsflash: Fed reserve dropped prime rate by another 25 basis points for a total of 100 pts over the last 3 month's. One of the reasons it's being done is to reduce the the adjusted interest rate in ARMS, credit card interest etc. The debtors are being helped out by the savers and it's not voluntary. For anyone who is a saver and relying on interest income this is a bad thing
