Hi W Congrats on the new world record I don't think its realistic to expect the DZO's to give back USPA to the jumpers on their own. Why should they USPA can help level the field for all the DZO's by "allowing the DZO's to start their own trade group" and cancelling the USPA GMDZ program due to a majority vote of its individal members. From this sample poll it looks like 84.552% of USPA individual members want to drop the program. The DZ down the road won't be a GM either, problem solved. USPA can still insure the safety standards in the sport by continueing to liscense the rateing holders that work at the DZ's. IMO USPA will not allow the continuation of th GMDZ program be decided by the individual members.Why would they this poll speaks for itself.

We already have a national organization that provides liabililty insurance and the appearence of credability. Why throw out the baby with the bath water. We just need to encourage in the strongest terms USPA to break away the GMDZ program from USPA. I think a reforendum on the next USPA ballot would do it. I don't think there's any incentive for the PIA to allow the GMDZ's to join their organization. Based on the numbers of members and $$$ the DZO's would take over the PIA just like they did USPA. PIA are businessmen, same for DZO's I'd be surprised if they could belong to one organization. Anyone notice the new Exec Director of USPA used to be in charge of the GMDZ program. Things aren't going to change for a long time. R.I.P.

Since USPA BOD won't cut the GMDZ program loose from USPA maybe we need to get it put on the ballot so USPA membership can vote on the issue. Hi Spence IMO your incorrect. Priot to the GMDZ membership program most (loophole) DZ's required USPA membership for fun jumpers. Based on my limited experience this dates back to the late 60's. IMO The GMDZ program was created to give the Tandem industry a advertising ............ (fill in the blank) Go to any DZ websight and what do you see on the front page? The DZ is a USPA member With the offical trademark USPA wings proudly displayed. Of course the really smart people know what it take for a DZ to be a USPA GMDZ. The same thing it takes for a anyone to belong to join USPA (except a DZ) fill out the form and pay your annual dues. R.I.P.

Odds are they didnt want to visit another DZ anyways. They wanted a tandem, one jump, thats it. Got the tshirt and lived to tell about it. If your goal is to take these tandems and turn them into repeat business via an AFF course than you really are delerious. Once again, it is what it is. After the Taser incident and backup arrived, the cop also checked under the drivers seat for a weapon. How did the cop know the hot head driver wasn't going for his own Taser, pepper spray, gun, knife etc. We recently got caught in a similar speed trap. The cops hang out at the reduce speed to 40 mph sign. The locals know about the speed trap but the out of towners are gonna get busted unless the cop is busy with someone else. I think the solution to this challenging situation is a lot simpler than you all are making it. A lot of company's have broken up into smaller entities to reduce liability. If Skyride was able to blackmail USPA with a lawsuit because of their deep pockets. Fine it's time for the DZO's to start their own trade group just like the PIA. If The DZO's trade group is a organization with no assets and no insurance can they still be sued? Especially if the the GMDZo's have to sign a waiver not to sue the governing body to join. If the DZO's want to inspect the GMDZ's for complience let them pay for it thru their own membership dues and fines. Jumpers have to sign a waiver to jump at a DZ and jumpers don't sue jumpers. Why should it be any different for DZO's and their own trade group? DZO's READ the WAIVER you signed to join. We have met the enemy and it is us.
