  1. Im not sure I understand what you are asking. There shouldn't be any fighting. The dzo or a person he/she picks hires videographers. the staff videographers show up for work and go into a rotation when its their turn they go video tandems, it should be that simple. DZ's should have minimum reqiurements for videographers i.e. what is required by the gear manufacture. Most of the DZ's I've worked for require to see a sample of your video work in order to see if your work is up to standard. hope that helps?
  2. When I was there a couple of years ago, the jumps were running right about 60.00 US. I'm not sure how much they are now but I would think they haven't gone up that much.
  3. vacation time is approved! I'm looking forward to this one. Hopefully the weather will be a little warmer than it is now....
  4. yea, cause he had mad skills he didnt need no stinking 6 hour class.
  5. how often does he have seziures? Does he take meds? Is it okay with his MD. Based on your responses, I can give you an opinion, as a tandem master, if he has been seziure free for a while, if he is taking his beds as ordered and if it's okay with his MD, I would have no problem taking him on a tandem.
  6. Marc, you are your family are in my prayers. Congrats, enjoy your little man. Chuck.
  7. this should be the "no boogie registration fee" boogie. DL always used to say he would never pay a boogie fee in Sebastian,,,, don't think he ever did either. He is missed
  8. My son loves to go to the DZ, he is 9 (today) anyway, I've been in the sport since before he was born so he's spent alot of time at the DZ with me. he enjoys going to watch. However, I hold firm to the practice, if someone is not there with me to keep an eye on him I don't jump. Reason being, what happens if Im jumping while he is there and I get hurt who's going to explain things to him, who is going to make sure his mother is called to come get him I do not expect that "somebody" will look out for him. If he wants to go to the dz and someone cant be with him we both go, have lunch watch others jump and go home. My son has never been on a dz after sunset and he wont be for many more years. Many people justify bringing there kids out to a dz and letting them run saying were "all family out here and everyone watches out for the kids." that's not the case. I was at a boogie a couple of years ago and a female skydiver let her son run while she jumped and played, well at the end of the day, that child was missing. Granted he was found, sleeping in a camper but it was only luck that it turned out that way. In every subculture of life there are pedophiles, and dropzones are no different. It is my job to keep my son safe and under my watchful eye. If he gets hurt at a dropzone, I am to blame, no one else.
  9. Good question, However, Im going to default to the "ask the compay which built your container" they should be the best ones to answer questions about the material they used to bulid your container. If they don't have the answer they should be able to get it.
  10. I would venture to guess the number of people who play golf is far greater than the number of skydivers. I also venture to guess the median income of :most: skydivers is low middle to middle class. Therefore the amount of money is being spent into the sport be individuals is low. I would be curious to know that the profit margin is for an average dropzone.
  11. which one? Team dirty sanchez has a great boogie there in March.
  12. Hey guys, I set my black merlin jump suit down and the Hog flop and it seems to have disappeared. Did anyone come across a black Merlin jump suit with grippers??? Please let me know thanks. Chuck
  13. My mom goes in for a biopsy to determine what kind of lung cancer she has. She never smoked a day in her life, but still, she has had throat cancer twice, the second time they removed her voice box and now this. My mom its truly an amazing women. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today. Thanks Chuck
  14. I'm not sure about this 100% I don't have the rating (as a TI) I was told it was a manufacture requirement that a videographer has to have 500 jump minimum to jump with a Tandem. Their rating could get pulled if something were to happen. Again not a 100% sure. Someone please correct me if im wrong besides what was say above is also a factor in the equation. that is the case, however, the reality is many people start to shoot video as a way to earn income and build jump numbers. Many dropzones allow people with less than the magical number of 500 jumps shoot tandem video. However, just because it happens, doesn't make it a good practice. "if something were to happen" If something were to happen tandem masters could loose alot more than their ratings.
  15. We dont mind you shooting 4 way video, because We are not doing 4 way.... If the skydivers on the 4way jump make the decision to allow you to video their skydive, they assume the risk if you make a fatal error and injure on kill one of them. They know the risk and can make an informed decision. My tandem passenger, doesn't know any better, and they entrust me with the responsibility to keep them safe. Part of that responsibilty is to not allow people who I dont believe are safe to be on their tandem jump.
  16. When Bolas? let me know, you know I'll help you out if I can.
  17. there's three on amazon.com for sale right now for around 1100.00 us I see on on ebay with a "buy it now" price of 899.00 So, I would guess between 900 and 1,100 depending on its shape and how bad someone wants one.
  18. very few of us will recommend anything but sony. very few camera's will hold up as well as sony brand cameras.
  19. 13 hours give or take a few minutes, thats a bit of a long drive.
  20. absoutely, go with the 580ex if you decide not to let me know which cragslist its on and I'll buy it. I need a new one!
  21. get a pair of goggles that fit well and use a paper reinforcement tab a.k.a. a paper asshole. the reality is you dont "need" a ringsite to shoot good video. you need properly set up gear and alot of practice. just my .02 for what its worth. good luck with your learning and be safe. Just curious, what helmet are you using and what difficulty are you having, why do you think you need a ring site. I'm just wondering.
  22. yea, I had a pair of bose, I liked them.
  23. sounds like everything is coming together nicely. should be another great boogie.
