  1. RIP Peter. Once again, I am at a loss for words. Although our paths haven't crossed in a while, I will miss you
  2. I know its a boogie, but I have to ask. Is there WIFI on the airport, I'm going to have homework and a test that I am going to have to be able to turn in online. If not, I'll have to find a hotel to stay at and do homework late at night early in the AM. But I'm planning on making it.
  3. What are you looking to put on the DVD is it an old vcr tape or is it a mini dv tape from the camera? If your trying to transfer a vcr tape to dvd, I can't help you I don't have the gear. If you need a mini DV tape edited to a DVD let me know I'll help you out. Chuck Bryan
  4. the cd wasn't actually a video of how to make the helmet, it was a set of directions on how to build the helmet. Ray, I think I may still have my copy, I'll look for it. I would not have given them out when Wes was still alive out of respect for him. However, I don't feel that it would be a problem now. I'm in the process of moving so I should be able to locate the folder if I stll have it within the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know Chuck Bryan
  5. So, I'm looking into a position as a tandem master at a small dz that uses handicam video, I have a cx100, its a good camera, I like it. That being said I've also played with the go-pro hi-def camera and I like it too. I'll be doing my own editing using vegas platinum. Should I get a glove to fit my cx100 or spend the money on the go-pro high def and get a glove for it. like I said I like the cx100 but the idea of the tiny little go-pro is nice too. Thanks for your opinions Chuck
  6. You can get a Kayak for about 19K completely fitted for output to BD. Or you can use a computer. In other words.... your about to spend some money...
  7. I've been looking for info on this boogie too, my 40th birthday is May 31st and I am planning to celebrate it at this boogie.
  8. DSE, you are a great guy, and I value your advise but damn, I dont understand half of what you say LOL
  9. I use handbrake, I'll like that program.
  10. Thanks DSE, thats what I thought, but I was hoping I was wrong...
  11. I'm about to start a video project (non-skydiving) and I'd like to use a wireless or external mic type set up. Any thoughts or recommendations on something that will work for this? Thanks Chuck
  12. be smart, ask questions, and dont assume you know what you are doing. I'm assuming you are going to have to go through an FTO or a clearing process. Listen to everything and never uttter the response "yea I know" to the medic that is clearing you. Ask your patients questions even if someone already told you the answer, patients stories and conditions change quickly. Treat your patient, not your monitor. treat all your patients like the have hep or hiv, because its the ones you think don't that do. Be nice to stupid nurses, most of them have no clue what its like to think on the street. Good luck You'll be okay, just don't do anytihing stupid. Chuck Bryan EMT-RN.
  13. I read the rules, I didn't see where I couldn't post this here but if I can I appoligize to the mods and they can remove it. That being said On February 28th 2010 I will be cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fundraising event. This will be a 50 mile bike ride from the City of Christmas to Orlando. I understand that times are difficult and especially near the holidays it can be tough to make donations to any organization. Every day diabetes affects the lives of young and old. A cure for diabetes must be found. I am training hard to do well during this event and I ask that you please support me with a donation. Please visit my donation site at http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR?px=5434317&fr_id=6670&pg=personal any help is appreicated. Chuck Bryan
  14. I agree with the masses, Palatka is a good dropzone with good AFF instructors, Cathy's DZ may be a little closer for you. I used to work with one of their instructors up there, Doke. He's a good instructor. Either way, you go you'll have made a good choice. Jacksonville is a good dropzone, the team they have up there is good. That being said, I don't believe they offer aff anyway. It's mostly a tandem DZ that fits in fun jumpers when they can. Have fun can be safe Chuck Bryan
  15. compare the prices, I have seen the same computers they advertised on the web cheaper in the stores and visa versa. As for dual core, I have one, a dell and it's worked okay so far. Im no computer guru though so I'll let someone else answer that better than I. Chuck Bryan
  16. If I didn't know how to use mu camera, I'd use the sports setting and go from there. Camera settings used depend on many things its hard to describe. Chuck Bryan
  17. Im sorry for your loss. It's tough dealing with the death of a loved one. I wish you didn't have to go through the pain. Im sorry for you. Chuck Bryan
  18. NICE. I can't make it up there this weekend because I have to work. But I'll be up next weekend for a visit. It's good to see Kathy's little dropzone is growing up. Chuck
  19. Chris, they have in the past, I dont know if they still do or not
  20. Say what you will about the Nardis, but the now own four dropzones which are consistently busy with Tandems. Now that being said, I may not agree with their decision to limit fun jumpers at their dropzones, but again, their dropzones are successful, and obviously making them money. I don't believe that Lake Wales will go under, I do believe, surrounding dropzones i.e Z-hills are already and will continue to see an increase in their fun jumper base as a result of the decisions made by the management of Lake Wales. As far as competing with themselves, I don't really think they are competing with themselves, They are making money at both locations. Many people who would go do a tandem at lake wales would not want to make the drive to titusville, and would probably drive to Zhills or Labelle so I would say by leaving Lake Wales open they are attracting a customer base that would normally go to a competing dropzone. When the decision was made to limit the fun jumping at Titusville, many people said the same thing "titsuville will never make it without the fun jumpers" well Titusville is still there and it is a busy "tandem Factory" When they re-opened Jacksonville people said that DZ sucks, they operate out of a trailer, there are no bathrooms and the power is supplied by a generator. Well, Jacksonville still has a steady stream of tandems coming in despite a nicer dropzone with a better aircraft (palatka) being close by and another dropzone (the jumping place) which is also near by I have worked for the Nardi's off and on for the last 6 years. Although I have not always agreed or understood their decisions I respect their right, as business owners to make them. Patti and Greg are good people. I'm sorry, you are unhappy with the decisions made by the Nardi's and the managers of their dropzones, As you know Z-hills isn't far away from Lake Wales and TK and his staff will welcome you and anyother fun jumper with open arms. I've visited Zhills recently and had an amazing experience, Friendly people, good food, fun skydives, I am looking forward to returning there in the near future. Chuck Bryan....
  21. I was really impressed to hear that we raised $700! I think a lot of that came from Chuck at the end of the evening. This is how he got $5 more out of me: Chuck: Andrea, give me $5 for the raffle. Andrea: I just bought 4 of the USO t-shirts today. Chuck: I don't fucking care, give me $5 more. Andrea (after handing over the money and Chuck is walking off): You know, you get more flies with honey, Chuck! Chuck: Fuck you, Andrea!... but you know I don't really mean that. Good job, Chuck! You know I love you!!! It was great to see you and everyone else.
  22. Ray, I'm pretty sure they went out of business
