Ok, I recently bought a new lap top 4gig ram Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6400 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache and a 320gb hard drive. I think this is a good enough computer to do video editing. Now my intention is to buy sony Vegas movie studio platinum, I'll be picking that up this week. I'm trying to start doing video editing on the computer. I'm ordering a CX100 the beginning of May but for now I'm shooting with mini DV. All that being said here's my question. I shot a 4 way video today, one of the people on the jump wanted a copy of the video so I told him I'd burn it to a DVD for him. I used Window Movie Maker to edit the video then I burnt it to a dvd the video seemed "grainy" and a bit "blurry" with movement. It didn't look that way when I watched the tape on the camera. Are my issues caused by window movie maker, or is it because I'm editing mini DV on the computer or what? Will using Sony Movie Studio give a better quality video when I burn it to a DVD? I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but I really don't know that much about Non Linear Editing so I thanks for the help.

I have my repo license, I did it for a while while I went to nursing school. It's not a bad job, paid pretty well. I only had a couple of confrontations while taking cars. Most people know their car is getting repo'd they expect it. Chuck

Fly into Daytona or Orlando, someone can make arrangements to give you a ride. As far as a place to stay, I'm sure I have an extra tent and sleeping bag around you can use. I'm going down Friday, if you decide you want to go, make arrangements to fly into Daytona Friday morning and I'll pick you up. Your point was pretty clear. Respect the property respect the organizer respect the people nice enough to spend their money and time making jello shot clean up after your damn self. Sounds to me like she's taking advantage of you. If I read your post right, she's taking away your paycheck and wants you to work for free. It is something you enjoy, then keep doing it until you can find a paying job somewhere but the reality is, working for free is costing you money. You time has value and she needs to understand that. My thought would be to walk away, and spend the time and effort you are expending there to find another job. I understand you are working on a degree in criminal justice, are you hoping to go into law enforcement? Have you considered getting a job with the state attorney's office as a clerk, or maybe with your local police department as a dispatcher? although I've only seen a few DZO's that require a minimum number of jumps, almost everyone I worked at has asked to see 5 or 10 of my video's to see the quality of my work. I think interviewing for a videographer position, or any position on a dz should resemble any job interview including reference checks. Just my .02 Chuck

Yes, you should wait? had your first cut away yet how about your first off dz landing or how about your first "close call" with someone in the air not paying attention to what they are doing. get a feel for how bad shit can get when shit goes bad. pinning that camera helmet to your pumpkin changes the focus of your skydive.... Just my thoughts, whatever you decide be safe. Chuck
