I'm a safety engineer, I manage risks and major accident hazards for offshore oil platforms, refineries, power stations, etc. People in my business often look at me oddly when they find out about my weekend activities, but I just smile and draw parallels with oil production and skydiving, and the generally poor understanding (by the public) of the actual risks involved in both activities. Its all about risk management, and an in depth understanding of the hazards, and consequences.

Are you held to different legal standards of when you may engage in self-defense, and what you may do to protect yourself, being "licensed" to have martial arts knowledge? If my impression is correct, and you have to obtain a license to learn martial arts, I think that's just sick. I'm not a rigger. A 170 will fit in a J4 nicely, I have had 2 J4s both with 170s, a monarch, a sabre, and currently a spectre. Quite often an AFF package will include video. Unless you are having problems with your progression, I'd say no, but I have heard instructors say that during AFF, video is a very useful learning aid, and also that one jump with video is worth three without. I have found it immensely useful in the past during coaching sesions. Your mileage may vary depending upon your stage in development, budget, and the nature of any problems you are encountering.
