Nope thats not what I'm talking about, Bob, I'm talking about the extended incarceration, suspension of basic human rights, and subsequent interrogation of innocent people based upon evidence gained by the use of torture, often gained from the employent of third party agencies or countries.. You and me, my garage, your bollocks, and a jump lead. Will you tell me what I want to hear? Or the actual truth.....? Torture someone long enough, and you will eventually hear what you want to hear. I guess I'm talking about the validity of evidence, how its obtained, and how it is subsequently used. Your bollocks and my jump leads is just a what if ... I don't actually mean you any harm. -
A wise man once said... War, Huh, what is it good for? "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING." Say it again.... "On the other hand; putting a high voltage anode on a terrorist's testicles in order to prevent another attack is a perfectly acceptable tactic. I have no doubt that many vile things were done by the US military and CIA. I personally have no problem with that." Unless, of course its your testicles...... Phillykev beat me to it, 'despicable', sorry, been away. So, Bob, where would you draw the line???????????? Lets just assume it was your son/brother/mother/wife, detained without charge, for lets say 2 years, in solitary confinement, no access to lawyers, detention based on evidence gained under the application of car batteries and electrodes. How would you feel, Bob? Bob? Anyone? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "he missed the part in the instructions where you get the police and military on your side" Should have listened to his mommy, she used the police to good effect to crush the miners, and suppress various other legitimate protests, google poll tax riots for example. Actually, I reckon he thought he was supporting toppling the Taliban. Personally, I hope he gets what is coming, if he's guilty of course....... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Info on car safety off-limits to public

"would emphasize only that automakers and suppliers "simply want to protect proprietary information from their rivals" Over here we have access to independent safety tests on vehicles. http://www.euroncap.com/index.php Auto manufacturers nowadays quote the results of these tests as part of their marketing. I'm surprised there isn't an equivalent to Ncap over there. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Anybody else got any ideas on what the US should do? " Be very, very, very careful. Africa has seen many empires try to exert influence on it, those empires are long gone, yet Africa prevails. Y'all tread carefully in providing military training and assistance to places like Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, etc. (google the "Pan-Sahel" initiative) But hey, Sir Mark Thatcher, the iron lady's wee boy, is currently under house arrest in SA for alegedly funding a coup in Equatorial Guinnea. So it seems our lot are not done fiddling with the dark continent either. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Hey Bill, relatively good news for those of us with a wee bit of a belief in our duty of care... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/3598148.stm Shell fined $1.5 bn for environmental damage in Nigeria's Delta region. Overdue if you ask me, but its a start. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Its already being done apparently... http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1181816#1181816 In this instance replacing a hard drive on an Archos recorder/viewer, combined with a bullet cam. "Screw the UN. If you stand behind that org, take a look at their history, and think again." Just remind us of the official reason we went to war.... I'm not sure you can do it on the 107, the manual should cover the details, it will be under effects, fades, dissolves, etc.... I think the 107 only gives fades to and from black/white, not a cross dissolve which is what Jezz described. Otherwise its the post production option, as you say. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Right angle A/V cable for Sony Handycam (DCR-HC40)
nacmacfeegle replied to sasteam's topic in Photography and Video
Matt, the new Sony cams have the Svideo and composites combined into an oddball 10 pin connector. As Sasteam is finding out, this is a non standard fitting and less than low profile. Additionally I think the ports are on the RHS of the cam, which means if you left side mount it, you have to dismantle the setup to dub, or poke a hole in the helmet to access the port. If you right side mount it you lose the function of the LCD screen. I have holes cut in my Gath side mount to access zoom etc, so maybe this is a solution for Sasteam... Hope this makes sense. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "A WMD is what Bush apologists define it to be at any given instant, so that the other guy looks bad and they look good at that instant." Ah I see it clearly now, foolish me John. "Professor Doug Rokke, ex-director of the Pentagon's depleted uranium project – said use of DU is a 'war crime'. Rokke said: 'there is a moral point to be made here. This war was about Iraq possessing illegal weapons of mass destruction -- yet we are using weapons of mass destruction ourselves.' He added: 'such double-standards are repellent." So he's talking about DU (depleted uranium)as opposed to cluster bombs, he considers DU is also a WMD, and, well blow me, he used to work for the Pentagon. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. -
"Well they didn't write the definitions now did they?" We went to war using a United Nations resolution as justification.... A United Nations resolution categorizes depleted uranium weapons alongside nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, napalm, and cluster bombs as a 'weapon of indiscriminate effect'. I know your opinion of the UN is pretty low, but hey.... How's about you defining the term WMD? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Thomas Jefferson

"A cluster bomb is NOT a WMD." A fair number of humanitarian organisations would disagree with that statement. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
