  1. "which state did you want me to meet you in?" Stoned, sober, canned, half canned? Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.
  2. "So you mean it is not me it is the clothing I am constantly changing?" Yeah, the Versace suit, or the Channel choices, choices, stick to one or the other....should keep you going. At least you have a suit......Clay, whassat all about, if I were you and anywhere near Florida I would paying somebody a visit. Whats the latest update? Wound, meet salt, salt, meet wound........ 3. What Josh said, also....A laser pen (lined up with the existing video view, blue tack, gaffers tape, etc helps) helps immensely, or put your helmet on some form of "dummy head" - no you can't have mine, I'm using it for work- and hook up a monitor to the video cam, then mess around with the still mount - with the SLR on it- till you are seeing the same pic. Then drill and fix etc... Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.
  4. I have one word to save you from cosmic confusion young Jeditor...Logging. As you capture your clip, write down the file name, location, master tape ID, duration, camera flier, and a very brief synopsis (nice sunset, cool tube, big funnel, etc) of the clip.Yup its a pain in the ass, but its the only way that works. My sweet pretty timeline jockey, I have edited from over 14 camera fliers, doing over 60 loads, on 300 way attempts. I ended up with about 70 hours of 1 minute clips, not to mention plane shots, faces, and general mayhem. If you know wher eevrything is, the force will flow from your mouse to your epic creation in flawless style. Logging is the way, the truth and the light, anything else simply doesn't work..... Try it, and thank me later...
  5. "The question I have is how come all skydivers know how to really hug??" Cos its all about the love.... Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.
  6. Okay, my take on the packing thing... When I was down on my luck, I packed to pay for jumps, I would hitch hike / bum lifts to the DZ etc. Hell's teeth, I was getting a better hourly rate for packing than I could get for engineering anyway, just not that many hours.... Times, and my own personal fortunes have changed. So when I see a packer, who is also an up jumper, I will pay them to pack for me, and tip them. Its one of my little ways to 'put some back' into the sport, spread the love kinda thing. I know what its like to try and make your way in skydiving when you have very little budget to allow you to jump / live / drink beer. I don't use packers that don't jump very often, and usually manage at least one jump with my packer. I've even met packers at boogies who were travelling round the European circuit and had them come stay at my place in Aberdeen, using it as a base to explore Scotland. I am able to pack for myself, have done so for years, but its nice to chill, unwind, dirt dive etc while your shit is getting sorted. I also find I can make more skydives per day if I use packers. My time allocated to skydiving is very limited, so I want to make the most of it, finances permitting, of course. Of course, this is just my take on things, I am lucky to able to afford such luxuries, but the money is going to a 'good cause' (a down on his/her luck jumper) in my opnion......... 11. Does it take to change a light bulb..... 2, one to fit it, one to flame them for choosing the wrong rating.... Okay, DZ.com is primarily a way for us meet and exchange ideas and opinions in the virtual world..... I thought it would be interesting to find out how many regulars, have you actually met with, partied with, or even jumped with.....Since logging on, we are talking about NEW friends here.... Don't be shy to name names, it'll help jog memories...... My list of new pals, in no particular order, I've made since registering...... Jumperpaula, Jessica, Airann, Tequilagirl, Pippy, Rachill, Trent, Hookit, Zennie, Pop, Jdhill, Misfit, Levin, Ramon, Gemini, Antimike, Snowflake, Carbonezon(x2!!), Judedre, Omri, 78rats, Aggiedave, Slappie, Chicagoskydiver (I poured beer on you during your SCR), Skygeek, Rking, Freeflygoat, Msdeva. 17. "My thing is these films are so very great that its hard to finger what to cut out" Aha, that's what we call "editing" Ann.....LOL For me, a general rule of thumb.....if its 110% (its that extra 10% that makes it special) kickass, it gets dropped on the 'cutting room' floor, or in your case, consigned to the recycle bin.....I'd rather produce a shorter film, with better shots, and tighter edits. Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.
