Your gonna lurve that Audi, they stomp all over Beamers, I know cos I've driven both marques......Audis are just simply better put together and have the advantage of better traction IMHO. A hybrid car???? I've seen freeflying cars, and RW cars both on the Good Stuff, but I've never seen a Hybrid car. I've seen inbred cars in East Texas tho..... Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.

"thought that would bother me, didn't cha" Not for a moment, I was just pulling your purty leg. I know you are posession of a perfectly functioning sense of humour, a respectable set of boobies, (as any hot blooded male who pays attention to the forums will testify), also, you have no need whatsoever of a 'hoover diet' ..... I listed my involvement in various big way projects that I have been involved with to emphasise the fact that I'm a team player. Other good previous experience:- Ice lookout for White Star Line. Yup, for sure... I just realised after typing all that shit in, Trigger was Roy Roger's horse, Silver was the Lone Ranger's.. Ho humm, I guess I'll never be a real cowboy if I can't work the Horse's names...... Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.

Decisions, decisions (aka "That's a Dust Devil")

Lovely prose, you have a real way with your writings. I can't wait till you start describing the joy of jumping with other people. Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt. -
Audi S3, its cool, but I bought it for my sweetie, I drive rentals when I'm over here... "these are some of the "first" production cars of their type" Golfs have been around for over a decade dude, what model was it. That mpg (American gallons I'm assuming right?)sounds like a GTi which goes like shit off a shovel, and sticks to the road like manure to a blanket, sweet wee cars...... So the Lone Ranger gets captured by some bad Injuns, things don’t look so good for the legendary hero. The chief strolls up to him and says ”Kimmosave, your gonna get it this time, Tonto can’t save you, but I hear your horse Trigger is really cool, show me what he can do. You have 3 chances and I might give you a quick death.” So the Lone Ranger calls Trigger and whispers in his ear, Trigger snorts and takes off. The trusty steed returns a while later with a beautiful brunette in the saddle. The chief is impressed so he ushers the Lone Ranger and the cowgal into the nearest Teepee for his nazzums. A while later the chief drags the hero out, who again whispers in Trigger’s ear, Trigger snorts, stomps the ground and takes off again. A while later his faithfull four legged friend once more returns, this time with a blonde in the saddle. Again the chief is impressed and ushers the pair into the Teepee for some righteous cowgal action. A while later the chief drags the hero out for his last chance, The Lone Ranger calls over Trigger, and this time looks Trigger squarely in the face and mutters…. “Listen you stupid nag, I’m gonna say this one last time, go get posse…….” Cya D Gravity Rat # 37 Remember, we can do everything right, and still get hurt.

Umm, what they said, I've used a walkman before on very high hop n pops, and it was kinda cool. But in another thread you implied that you were less than current, and even quite scared of jumping again, having witnessed a static liner go in. Under these circumstances, I would prefer to see you focussed on regaining your skills and confidence, and landing safely without distractions.. "If they do a good job tip em!!!!!" Snowie is right. However I pay 'em to get it in the bag, and tip 'em to make sure it comes out sweetly.

I have an old Pinnacle DC30+ which was the bees knees back in 97/98, and still is IMHO for analogue work. But to avoid generation loss, its better to 'convert' the video to DV first as described above, then hose in and out via firewire. Any OHCI compliant card will do well. Try a search "ADS Pyro" on the net. I use a PCMCIA Pyro on my laptop and it works fine. Pinnacle now make a whole raft of cards that will work with analog streams, there are also sopem converters available that will bypass the conversion stage. Search for Pinnacle on the net.... Cya D

"this is by design (left cable slightly longer after it passes through the loop) in order to prevent the left riser from releasing first" Yes Indeedy, I believe this to be the case. "RSL not activating and was told that perhaps there was not enough tension on the left riser because of the streamer" Ermmmmm, say what? This is the streamer configuration 'by design' ie the way the rsl is designed to work with the 'phased 3 ring release'. I'd like to hear the venerable Mr Booth's stance on this. At the very least, there should have been enough drag to operate the RSL, otherwise, your shit would still have been attached to the lanyard when 'old silver' was pulled. I'm pretty sure that this was not the design intent of the 3 ring and RSL (IE there should be enough drag even on something like a bag lock to pull the RSL). I suspect your RSL was disconnected, when you thought it was.....which is even more food for thought. Can you remember whether your lanyard was with the rig, or with the main when you landed? Cya D

"I have an RSL, but it never activated the reserve with the cutaway. " Your story is a strange one indeed Denis, but this sentence concerns me a little........Assuming it was hooked up, why didn't it operate? Has Hooknswoop, rigger extraordinaire, had a look at your stuff? PS you are lucky the rightside went first if the left side went first, and your RSL operated, you may not have been talking about it. I'm genuinely glad you made it though..... Cya D

The other thing in retrospect is that fact that I use slinks, prolly not a good idea. I hear that Parachutist has something on this, sadly my copy gets delivered to Aberdeen.... Cya D

Hey John good to see you again at the weekend, congrats on the comp.....Sorry I couldn't hang around on sunday, you've seen the reason why.... Okay what I was doing wrong was taking the line directly from the toggle into the riser, not wrapping it round anything, just s-folding it into the wee gap. If it subsequently unstows there is sufficient slack on my set up to allow the toggle to pass thru on toggle release. Or maybe I passed my hand thru the slack before unstowing the toggle, I remember the slider being over the top section of the toggle, mebbe I was hasty in grabbing the toggle part that I could see. "a multicolored snowflake" hehehe....nice tan Cya D
