I believe he needs to be 'removed' by his own people. Otherwise it will a long and bitter campaign whch will be ulimately very costly in terms of human life, and resources. I actually agree with the CIA's actions on this one, rare for me, I know. But I do share the concern that the resources being applied may bite you back. But where are the options? All the Texan skydiving chicks are cool...

"I don't want to miss seeing someone and getting to jump with them before they leave" You be careful with that little Texan (?) gal..... Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"

Hey, by the way Chris, Aggiedave is one of the many people from the boards that I have met in real life. In fact I was jumping the CASA with him most of this weekend, along with many regular posters here. Also met Flyingferret and Freaksister for the first time. Nice folks.

Aggs, is probably sleeping of fthe weekend's excesses, he was partying pretty hard with us......And you know these Texans can't drink very well......... So as his duly appointed friend...go here Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"

Hey Clay, this was a frightening one, no two ways about it. In the middle of 130 other canopies, spinning very wildly is not my idea of a good day out. I'm concerned about this as well, I asked a Q here a long time ago re the HMA lines, and a rumour that they were 'banned' from use in Europe on parapent (soaring) canopies. I never got an answer either confirming or denying this...... I've had broken lines on a PA monarch (4 or 5 lines snapped, and several cells 'blown out'), after about ten days of consistently hard openings, and its not funny. "I don't want to leave, but I want to feel welcomed. " You are welcome here dude, there is a lot of compassion in the people here. I have met some great people here virtually, and then in real life, we have become very good friends. It would be a great shame if you were to deny youself that experience. "Nac...I thought a true Scotsman would never identify himself with Brits? " I know, I know, but to my Scottish shame, I consider myself British first, and Scottish second......I even prefer to think of myself as a citizen of the world. I guess I still hold the dream that one day, borders won't matter anymore..... Unless of course I am in the company of someone who thinks Britain is England, or if someone thinks England is in some way better than Scotland, or if there is any soccer or rugby being played. C'mon Denmark...get right intae these English...... Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"

Naw, miserable so and so's ....we do get a launch during our offshore survival training though, which I always enjoy but is not everyone's cup of tea. We also get simulated chopper ditchings, upside down under water, in a mock up, with an 'envirnmental' tank. This is essentially cold, dark, windy, has waves, 'lightning', loud noises and rain etc. A bit like most weekends on a UK dz....Youd be surprised how quickly a chopper will capsize, and how disorientating being upside down in the dark, under water really is. I've been on emergency response teams, and we get to train with really big fires every once in a while. Y'all know how skydivers love fires...

So were "stuffy", "snooty", "crazy" are we?.....And we've obviously never heard of that popular beat combo, The Rolling Stones.......hmmm I guess your right, seems fairly accurate of some of us.......

Try and check in way early. Stick it in a suitcase and check it in would be my pref, especially on direct flights with no transfers. If you are nervous about putting it in the hold, tell the check in people that it is a very valuable piece of sporting equipment, and you need for your job as a professional skydiving coach...or some other flimm flamm like that...... If you take it into the cabin, make sure you tie a brightly coloured pull up round the res handle, so it don't accidentally get popped, you may have to give to one of the cabin attendants. Be careful of any knives that may be mounted on your rig, they are a no no in the cabin. If you have a cypres, remember to take the wee card of the x-ray. Do not sass the security people, be polite, but don't mention its a parachute unless specifically asked. Dress 'respectable' whatever that means...... Happy trails...Bon voyage. "People should not be judged by where they live or what they drive or what they look like." hehe, amen also to that, I fly intercontinental a LOT my warped sense of humour is tickled when I show up in the 'executive lounges' at airports dressed in my tevas, old levis, and "masticate, fornicate, aviate" (eat, fuck, skydive) tee shirt. I see the 'executives' looking at me and thinking what the hell is HE doing here.....Similarly when I roll into business class on the plane, they nearly always try and send me to the back.....When my ticket clearly states...business or even first...... The years I have spent in my profession has taught me that everybody has value, and should be treated with dignity and respect...Nobody is any more important than the next guy, or gal. Especially if they have great looking Boobies

Sorry Chris, no offense meant......I like to think of myself as "oilfield trash"...but I respect your sensitivities... "There's too much hatred in this world today" Me too..... Its just a wee Flash/Java thing... put your name in here, put a friends name here kinda thing..... Peace brother, hope you have a rockin weekend. Amen Chris..... I would like to add....be aware of any centre of gravity issues with your chosen jumpship. This is very important for us Euros who jump LET 410s a lot. Tell the pilot if you intend to dump very high. Try not to distract the pilot at critical stages of the flight...eg takeoff..... Be careful on climbout, a reserve round the tail really pisses on everyone's parade. And be wary of anything that goes round and round, or up and down (props and doors, they bite your fingies and anything else that gets in the way)....watch out for whuffoes in the loading area. And buy your pilot a beer every now and then

"I wouldn't so much call them "stupid" as I would intolerant. " Tsk tsk tsk Clay, spelling, that should be ignorant... Okay folks, I'm only joking here, put down those flamethrowers and have a rockin' weekend, I know I will....

"But it beats eating chocolate when you're in the dumps!" Chocolate is good to chase away those blues when you can't get air time... I sold all my climbing gear, amassed over 15 years of climbing all over the globe.......I used the proceeds to buy my first rig. Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"
