Och aye, its a kilt all right, the full nine yards of it..... Wanna see my furry sporran little girl???? "You probably aren't even Scottish are you" Most definitely, born in Glasgow....why do you Canadians doubt everything?

Okay, as discussed above, there are serious financial issues with this sort of thing, plus there is probably not the same 'economy of scale' type of thing......... That said, one the oldest DZ's in the UK is owned and operated entirely by the jumpers, at Strathallan, you pay a yearly fee, and you actually own a share of the place. The whole thing is run on a 'non profit' basis, with any spare cash going into club facilities, and it actually runs quite well. Plus its an incredibly scenic DZ, with a beautiful backdrop of nearby mountains, glens etc.....

Chromie, I gave her a hug for you....and one for me, TG was a wee smiley thing this weekend, but was too into her big ways to bust out the zip ties...

I was filming stuff for inclusion in the 'boogie' tape for EZ......so if it's worth watching, you'll probably see it....... I've been talking with Eric about a few ideas to pep up the inevitable film......I've a little experience in this sort of thing.

Its a proven fact, statistics show again and again, there simply isn't enough Purple in Skydiving.....

Oh no, I'd better run away then, mebbe even flee the country....

"Why not to use kermantel construction" The HMA lines are very very thin, its their primary attraction.....I don't know if technology exists to build a kernmantle fibre weave that small.....

"Well if someone doesn't join me in the Pub and entertain me..." I can't get to the pub from my office PC, but when I'm home next week..... You betcha, you'd better gird yersel lassie, and prepare for some serious entertaining....and be careful, cos I'll be taking about 6 weeks off to look after my sweetie, and the pub opens 8 hours earlier in Scotland, than in fruit and nut time...... Expect some senseless gibbering (no change there then..)

And Hey, now that Chromie is being held captive by nws01, its okay to have a little fun with TG without being hunted down by a jealous Chromie.... It was , as always, most excellent to see so many DZ.commers in one place, having a good time...

Clay is right Tom, you never piss people for no real reason. You may need a reference from him, or your old job back. Just let him know the financial or whatever reasons influenced your decision to Jack it all in and change. Be truthfull, unless of course th ereason is that your boss is an ass, in which case, just lie to him, but be nice about it.

Okay Hobbes its all about freedom of choice, but you are about to introduce another 'failure mode' into your rig. I'm assuming this replacement attachment ring set will be similar to the old 'split link' type things that used to attach the suspension lines to rounds, or something similar involving a screw or screwed connection. These will require regular inspection to ensure they are tight, just like the wee screwed connector links on your main do....Plus its gonna look real ugly, and you will probably be unable to re-sell the rig at a later date.... I would think long and hard about this mod, before you take the bolt croppers to the nice shiny bits.... What are you currently loading at, and when do you think you will be loading at say 1.75+, if that day is still a long way off then its probably not worth it right now....

"Is it just me or do skydivers, as a group, really lack fashion sense" Who gives a damn what I wear? And who gives a damn what your opinion of my fashion sense is. What business is it of yours to judge me by my Grateful Dead tee shirt, sawn off levis, faded baseball cap and tevas......

Thanks for your kind words, and touching salute Jim, I did clock it as you left..... and was suitably touched. Clay, I finally prised your discs out of the slacker that was burning them for me, this am. So they should be with you soon. Nacmacfeegle boards the continental flight to London at 3.55 on Friday afternoon. I am going to miss Texas, but more significantly I am going to miss all the good friends that I have made here. The very good people at Spaceland have been very gracious hosts to me. There is a real family atmosphere at this DZ, the first time I visited Spacey, I knew that this was something special. There are a lot of regular (and irregular

I agree with Levin, and I have said it here before..... Take a look at the freefly footage from the nationals, and see just how much belly flying is now being incorporated into 3D flying. Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"

Get hold of a copy of 'camcorder user' from your local newsagent, its normally stuffed full of ads, special offers etc. Be sure to phone around, as they will often price match. Cya D GR# 37 "I don't believe that kindness is a weakness"
