Docsherry, this indeed sucks. Here is a pic of your rig as I remember it, until you can post a more up to date snap. I hope it all pans out for you, I would not like to be the perp when you get your hands on them. Sending you some Scottish vibes from across the pond. Hugz. Zoltan, if its any consolation, as long as the footage or images I record on behalf of any skydivers who request my services aren't used for commercial gain, publication etc, then I am more than happy to hand over digital copies, or even negatives. Unless of course there is something stunning in there. Which sadly is all too rare. But then again, I'm lucky in some ways, my camera flying isn't my livelihood. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. What Was Iraq Told Before the War? (documents found)
nacmacfeegle replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
"How about kicking them out of all three." Just how would a non-member state go about 'kicking' a European country out of the EU? Its a bit like Scotland trying to get Texas booted out of the US. Same stands for 'kicking' countries out of the UN, or NATO. The war in Iraq has already damaged the integrity of the EU, and NATO. In case you weren't paying attention, the French actually did the 'coalition' a huge favour by vetoing the posibility of a second resolution. If this had gone to the vote, the support for the war simply would not have been there, and votes would have been cast condeming the use of military force. Any subsequent action would almost certainly have been deemed illegal. As it was, the war proceeded on very shaky legal grounds. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. There's this guy who used to post here a while back, went by the name of Aggiedude, or OggyDave or something like that. Anyways I haven't heard from him in a while. His old avatar was really effective, the first time I met him I recognised him from 1500 ft while I was under canopy. He had a distinctive hat on. Anyways, I miss that guy, wonder whatever happened to him? I heard he took up golf. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Best site for skydiving clips!!!
nacmacfeegle replied to dropoutdave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Right, before you wax lyrical about this site, it is pretty well known here. Most of us have been there at some stage or another and if I'm not mistaken its maintained by one of our regulars (irregulars? -
I used to know what they were, cos I used to do it. Now all I need to know is which ones float, which ones are fast, and which ones stretch out, or are likley to cause a little separation.....Then I can change my position accordioningly.

"The only problem I see with the Dutch system is that it needs to be looked at every time a new canopy comes out. " Similarly, I don't know if Brian's system considers currency? And perhaps down size a wing loading by 1 point per 2000ft MSL, or something similar Either way, I'd prefer to see a voluntary system deployed at some large DZs first as a trial. Edit to add, sorry Ron I refuse to flame you over this, but will post #s 1200+ jumps most of them (800+) on 170s and 175s loaded at or around 1.5-1.6ish. I also have to add that I don't really care what system the USPA adopts as it probably won't affect me. But I am sick of hearing about, and witnessing people hurting themselves under way too small canopies. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. The Dutch system seemed fairly flexible, and actually named canopies within certain classes. I'm guessing it would not be that difficult to adapt it along with some sort of factor for sea level vs 'high alt' landing areas. The Dutch, not surprisingly, didn't really give this too much thought. I would definitely prefer to see more DZs trying it out before it went to the USPA though. Once these things become "law" they become very inflexible. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Come back soon....you're already missed. " Ha, its okay Michelle, I shall taunt him till he returns.... Texas? Whats so good about Texas? Wings? They suck, get a real container. Shiner tastes like Avgas. Guns are for guys who can't fight, and glocks are for girls who can't get a man to fight for them. Trucks are for nancy boys who can't afford a real vehicle, and who have to compensate for something. Purple and pink gear is sexy. What the hell does an Aggie know about Russian history anyways. France has a great and noble military history. Country music sounds like a cat pissing on an electric fence. Any fool could have landed there, what was all the fuss about? Packers aren't worth the money. That hat doesn't suit you, neither did the beard. Aggressive downsizing is good for the sport. RSLs rock. So whatcha got to say 'bout all that then big fella? Huh? Huh? You! Yes you, the big guy with the big hat and an even bigger heart, I'm talkin' to you! -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. With this particular model, EOS 500, it has no built in flash, it certainly is not a lightweight body, anything but. I have a third party manual for it (guidebook kind of thing) which I'm sure describes its various other names, I'll check up and get back to you. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Hey Saskia, thanks for the link, but I'm not sure about the accuracy of it. EG I have a Canon EOS 500, which was called a 650 I think in the US, its vintage is about 93, 94 ish. Its not described correctly on your link? -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. I don't know about Finland Zoltan, but in the UK the footage and image copyrights belong to the cameraflier. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Okay, there's nohing wrong with a Wings, or any other 'modern' rig eg mirage, vector, etc. But if you are going to be selling on your rig at some stage in the future, Javelins are more likely to hold a better resale value, also bear this in mind when you select a colour scheme. If your going to put lots of 'miles' on your rig, then you might be better with the wings. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "If it's true, you still think we were not justifeid to go in? " Official justification for 'going in' was, if I recall correctly, Saddam's failure to comply with a certain badly worded UN resolution regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction. Subsequent spin has included humanitarian and anti-terrorist causes. I would dearly like to see the evidence that preceded the invasion, but was denied public viewing due to 'security' reasons. And I don't mean vague references from taped phone calls, a bit of overtime being worked by some warehouse people, or suspicious container shaped ....ummm containers. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. If you dont wear a helmet in the UK, they won't let you on the plane. "What do you brits think?" Well, its seems like everybody except the Brits are getting upset about this. Okay, Bodypilot and I have differing opinions over this war and the whole Iraq debacle, however I do hate to see people getting flamed needlessly. This story has made the news over here, it is being pushed by the Telegraph, Mr Galloway is reprted to be sueing them for libel. George has a colourful past, with many question marks over reported misappropriated funds. He is reported as telling Tony Blair to "Fuck off you twat" which although an admirable sentiment, is not conducive to a long and prosperous political career. More of the background here, http://www.scotlandonsunday.com/index.cfm?id=480792003 For the record and in Bodypilot's defence, The Telegraph is what I would classify as a reputable source to quote, albeit a slightly right of centre traditional broadsheet. Of course, none of this has anything at all to do with the fact that we (Scotland) are going to the polls this week, and he has been a longtime critic of his own party leader, Tony Blair. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Och, c'mon Ivan, Unutsch is Slovenian, how's your grasp of Slovenian grammar these days? Give the man a grammar gimmie. -
"I cant remember the ingredients just vaguely remember it was rocket fuel!!" Definitely a case of Fuzzy Naval, judging by your avatar.
