  1. Which one? There have been many wingsuit BASE fatalities, although if it's the one I think you are thinking about (I think) that was a skydiving accident. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  2. Guys, I know you are all excited (and I am too) but please remember that this is a topical forum, so try to keep the off-topic one liners down please. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  4. Do you know if they have attempted to contact Ronnie himself? Probably a bit late now, but might have been a good idea to remove the name of the production company to prevent somebody from presenting themselves as an expert. Want me to edit it? 5. So, is it standard practice then? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  7. According to Fedde le Grand, it's a lovely city (may not be safe for work), although not until 2027 maybe. Sorry, don't know, never been. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

    BPA AGM 2007

Are you on commission to shift the remaining rooms Adrian? You had me worried then, because I hadn't booked, but I've just been able to do so. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  9. Was this standard practice at the dropzone or were there prevailing conditions (meteorological, time left in the day etc), that caused this? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  10. Dave, any decision in skydiving based purely on making something look nice, is usually a bad one. There are several good reasons for having different coloured handles but not so many for having them the same. Just because someone else says they have the same coloured handles and had no problems during an emergency does not necessarily mean someone else won't. You're a big boy, whatever your choice, just make sure you are prepared for the consequences. (I have a dark green and light grey cutaway/reserve pads on my Voodoo. I didn't look at them when I had my cutaway so I can't really comment). Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

    Service bulletins

Not entirely true. BR issued a press release on black rubber bands, and there have also been pilot chute recalls where they have been replaced by the manufacturer en masse. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  17. Not on the ones I've packed and neither does it appear to be mentioned in the manual (p. 11?) And for the record, I've pro-packed well over 500 tandems, and jumped most of those and the two mals (bag-lock and stuck toggle) can not be attributed to the method in which the canopy was folded. 20. Good stuff Klaus! Thanks for the updates. How many jumps have the record attempts got left? I hope it doesn't take you that many jumps, but you've got a big one coming up soon! Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

  23. I disagree. If the federal requirements mandate following the manufacturer instructions it does take precidence. FAR Sec. 105.49 Foreign parachutists and equipment I guess it depends on the nationality of the manufacturer and jumper of the equipment? It's a bit like the argument about foreign jumpers with TSO'd equipment (or part TSOd, like the container but not the reserve)? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  24. Why would you like to know? I use different packers. Some seal and some don't. Some who don't generally seal, will do so if I tell them I'm going to the States. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
  25. Maxim already answered it, but RTFM (page 4) July is in the middle of Southern hemisphere winter but how long was this canopy exposed for? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
